This series is more important to me than Pokemon. It taught me to have fun great memories however it also told me a very important lesson. Eventually you'll have to grow up and move on. Takahashi made one hell of a series. And the quote Joey "his stay wasn't as long as we wanted but we were glad glad we knew him at all"
I remember as kids we would always debate that. But now that I'm older yugioh definitely has more value to it than pokemon as a whole. But when it comes to games, pokemon?! them shits still#1😅
What was probably the master stroke of Takahashi, Yugioh as a whole including the Season Zero stuff, was how Atem was always a vision of what Yugi wanted to become. This scene basically made that become a bittersweet reality for him. A boy becomes a man. This made me truly cherish the series a lot more, and the creator too. Rest in Peace Takahashi, you are a king among us.
"Hey Takahashi-san! I hate to break the terrible news to ya, but you're not goin' anywhere! 'Cause everything you've given us stays right here in our hearts!"
Girls: "Titanic was so sad." Boys: "No it wasn't." Girls: "Do you even know sadness?" Boys: **Remembering this scene and suddenly talking like Arkham Batman** "Yes. I do."
Rewatching Yu-Gi-Oh all these years later (I'm 26 now) since I never got through all of it when I was younger. The little kid in me is crying in silence while soluting. While everyone around me switched to Pokemon I stuck with Yu-Gi-Oh. And fell in love with the series. Ive recently started recollecting cards again. 🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻
They’re were going to do that, you can find the first couple of episodes of season 1 remade officially by 4kids to be more accurate to the original. Sadly they didn’t get far and stoped do to their bankruptcy I think
This was the only moment in Yu-Gi-Oh that I cried. Be it the original, GX, 5Ds or any other Yu-Gi-Oh series, this was the only moment out of them all that made me tear up. It truly gave tribute to Atem while allowing him and the series as a whole to move on.
Everytime I watch atem's farewell and Goku flying off on the nimbus cloud at the end of gt I get very emotional cause it's like saying goodbye to a childhood friend all over again.
Adding after being the Pokemon World Champion, Ash and Pikachu's journey continues without us know. When Atem thumbs up to his friends and us, Ash throws up a twig to show which path do they go next.
One of the greatest Yugioh moments ever. The best in my opinion, Yugi spent this whole time in Atems shadow, he was just the better stronger Yugi who couldn’t lose. It’s not till this arc where we learn who he truly is, and where he comes from. He was trapped for 5 thousand years. And now he’s free, to meet all his friends and family once again. He has been put to rest in the most appropriate and tearful of ways. I’m so happy this happened, it was a perfect way to end the series off with closure and gratefulness.
Dan Green --- I have idolized you since I was in fifth grade. After school back in grade school... I would immediately rush home to see what you, and Eric Stuart were doing next in your adventures. Never for one moment did I ever regret not hearing your authoritative, commanding voice for one moment. You are wonderful inspiration, your Great Works---transcendent-like. Can we be Authentic Friends? Can we?
This Series Was My Childhood Bro Along With Others Shows Like Dragon Ball And Pokemon But Yugioh Hit Something In My Heart That I'll Never Forget At First I Was Just A Child Who Didn't Know A Thing About This To My Way To Be A Pro Dualist Takahashi You Build My Childhood Thxs For Everything ❤👍🏾
I know Atem had to go but why not stay with his friends?! I know this Yu-Gi-Oh series had to end and the purpose was for Atem to know who he was 5 thousand years ago and to go back and for his spirit to Rest In Peace But still it should have ended with Atem staying. But sadly yugi and the others have to get on with their own lives and future. In other words yugi has to now stand up for himself and to take care of himself and each other. Because the shadow games have ended!
3.56 'I know that true friends may be hard to leave, but they're impossible to forget, and even though his stay wasn't as long as we would've liked, we're lucky we knew him at all.' 🥲❤
What if Atem was actually stuck in that room? How crazy would that be? Instead of taking you to the spirit world , it took you to a room where you eventually get sent to the spiritual world. Smh 🤦🏽♂️
Well thanks a lot I didn’t need this I forgot how much I loved Yu-Gi-ooH both yugis from the past and future are my favorite characters this specific seasons the OG of Yu-Gi-ooH! Watching the Pharaoh leave hurts it’s like you know you’ll seeing your best friend leave to never see him again 😭😭😭😭 I’ll miss you my friend thank you for the lovely memories that are by the looks of it’s still captured in my heart ❤ and mind 😢😢😊.
2:39 This was the original track that was played when the Pharaoh returned in DSOD, but why was it removed? This played when Atem and Yugi were face to face after the duel.
Americans definetely added the missing piece. Their music, thru the whole 5 seasons, hits right on the spot. From the openning intro, thru the dramatic moments, all the way to the final when the pharaoh is leaving. Americans just know how to touch your feelings. The american's soundtrack is way better than the japanese.
Let make this clear I did not make this it was someone else but that video got taken down, it also appears this video is no longer blocked in some countries so something happened so I'm not sure if the original creator re-uploaded and if you the original creator see this I only did it because your video got taken down or blocked in my country, also I cannot pin this I am not fully verified on youtube yet
that's one thing i don't get about those finally bankrupt 4kids guys why did they need to make a new soundtrack when the original japanese was more emotional exciting and on point instead of adding music when it clearly wasn't necessary
“A champion doesn’t belong on his knees.” Always a good line.
It is ❤
It was a honor to grow up with this show thanks Takahashi for everything
Indeed.
Quite.
❤❤❤
When Atem walked through that door, we all watched as Takahashi did the same.
He became a pharaoh and went to the field of reeds.
😭😭😭
Eventually, it'll be Dan Green when he passes on to the afterlife eventually when that day comes
The tenderness in Atem’s voice when he speaks to Yugi. He truly was Yugi’s brother.
This series is more important to me than Pokemon. It taught me to have fun great memories however it also told me a very important lesson. Eventually you'll have to grow up and move on. Plus Yugioh had the good grace to know when to finish, pokemon anime just never really went anywhere
It does yugioh is heart and soul of game starting out as manga but then growing into world wide card games all over the world
Yugi has faced off with so many dark forces and evil beings...
But letting Atem go was probably the hardest thing he ever had to do.
When I was a kid, I cried for it. My mum thought I was got bully by someone. Goodbye my childhood and good bye Takahashi San
Must’ve been very impactful then! Not like I don’t get it though. ;-;

80 years from now, this masterpiece ofKazuki Takahashi will become public domain and it'll be known by many people in the next generations
"Hey Takahashi-san! I hate to break the terrible news to ya, but you're not goin' anywhere! 'Cause everything you've given us stays right here in our hearts!"
Coincidence😁
"Like we always say, it's YOUR MOVE."
Takahashi, thanks for making my childhood, and one of my favorite series of all time. You will be missed for years to come.
Atem was such an amazing character
Thank you for everything you have done for us, Kazuki Takahashi-san

R.I.P Kazuki Takahashi
Ferwell Atem and Takahashi
We lost Kazuki and now we lost Akira 💔💔💔 I guess I won’t be ready to be heart broken forever
RIP Kazuki Takahashi. Thank you for my childhood and the wonderful memories that came with it.

This makes me wish we had the full series with the uncut dub.
Same :/

Stream for now, buy it later, shonen fans here on good luck

You can notice with Yugi's hesitation to win that attacking Atem breaks him to do
Honestly, listening to the English dub with the original music makes this scene even more powerful.
This is so beautiful im cryin
1:21 to 1:24 - Some of the greatest words ever spoken during Yugioh 😃😃😃
I know a lot of it was retconned but especially if you take season 0 into consideration, you can really see how far they have both come
After all these years I still think they are brothers by heart
It hurts to know one of the biggest childhood is only a memory now .. thanks for this great time..
Thank you Takahashi. Heroes get remembered but legends never die.

Thank you, Takahashi-san, for all the games, all the duels, all the memories.
Thank you for the reupload!
One of my favorite childhood anime shows ever 😎🥹 This ending always gives me chills and tears 😭
Rest In Peace Takahashi 🙏
This scene never seces to make me cry
Rest in peace kazuki takahashi for you are the true king of games
Goodbye atem and thank you for everything🥹. It's cruel that it took me years to finally see the ending though😔 but oh well😌
I started with the ending 😅
Took me years to watch most other episodes of the original ygo. Lol

Where boys cried: **Yugi vs Joey in Season 1**
Where men cried: **Here**
Where women cried: Here too.
I miss you so much thank you very much for the beautiful childhood you gave me rip Takahashi 😭😭😭❤❤❤

The Japanese OST does a better job conveying this sad moment
I always saw it in the dub as being more from the perspective of Atem. Its emotional, but still a good thing that it's happening.
I’m not crying… I promise 😢
"Its your Move"
Not even a hug goodbye?!
Shoulder touch is enough 😭
Enough to make a grown man cry
Atem didn't say goodbye to Kaiba. That's why he was so pissed in Dark Dimensions
Good bye my pharaoh my his spirit be in peace (I cried at this moment)
Atem "Yugi you are HIM now."
I wouldn’t mind if I watched the whole show again but with the Original Japanese OST
Tea was down bad at the end
Yugioh ftw ❤
Thank you Takahashi RIP
This seen had me crying
Me too when I first watched it on TV cause I really connected with the characters. 😢😢😢😢
When I saw the last episode the first time I was bawling 😢.
Man,I feel like I lost a friend while watching,plus the music...pure sadness
My favorite childhood anime

This one of the sadest things about Yugioh.
He going home with his friend and family
I mean yugi is just trying to say to him that they’re just the same person
He just doesn’t have to miss himself they are the one and the same
3.56 'I know that true friends may be hard to leave, but they're impossible to forget, and even though his stay wasn't as long as we would've liked, we're lucky we knew him at all.' 🥲❤
im not crying, you're crying.

Thank you Takahashi and goodbye.🥹🥲🙏 4:48

such a powerful, emotional scene. the jpn ost does it better imo~
My yu-gi-oh ended here and still the best ending to a great story, didn't like the other yu-gi-oh series but the original still the best
2:39 This was the original track that was played when the Pharaoh returned in DSOD, but why was it removed? This played when Atem and Yugi were face to face after the duel.
Atem was the GOAT
The Japanese ost is always so much better, especially in this scene
Takahashi...thank you.😢😢😢
no you have open the door 4 me
im not crying your crying
ok rip takahashi for sure but silent magician is not very silent i just need to say that
imo, this scene is one of the only times where the dub and the sub are of equal quality...assuming you have the japanese music playing.
How can you cutt of when said “thank you Joey
😢WOW😢
Who started crying
im crying
It’s not like they’ll never see him again may be every long time but it will happen and I don’t mean in the movie I mean in the after life
Why are there so many onions in this room?
😢 wicked episode
No cap I actually cried 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭

What is the song that plays does anyone know? Does it have a specific name? Or is it just an orchestral version of the main theme?
Do you happen to have the video where Yugi loses to Raphael? Seems that one got taken down as well.
That was filler so doesn’t count

What Happened to Gurimo after waking the dragons
❤😊
What is the Japanese sad song?
Atem's farewell
At the beginning of the video it’s called Bond Of Friendship, and when Atem departs to the afterlife it’s Atem’s farewell.
Darude sandstorm
So low and sacrificial… 😢
