  • The tasting video on my American Lager made with rice adjunct similar to Budweiser, but this is no Bud. This is "Better Than Bud"!
    Also, two different yeast strains were used; Saflager W-34/70 and Wyeast 2007 Pilsen. See which yeast strain WE think was the better one!

    I've just made this recipe with flaked rice. Amazing...better than bud, the right name! Used the saflager.
    The gelatine clearing didn't work for me don't know why, but doesn't change anything for the taste. Great job! thanks Larry!

      Glad it turned out well for you.
      I was disappointed when the kegs eventually ran dry.
      It took a couple extra weeks for my beer to completely clear.

    Sir,
    Love exBEERiments like this. Really shows how much flavor the yeast contributes. Also, I actually watched this on Rumble and it's a shame the description over there doesn't support links. I couldn't even copy and paste to download the recipe. Luckily I got it from here. And for some reason I wasn't subscribed here, so I did. Keep making awesome videos.

    Good experiments with yeast strain Larry, Safale 34/70 Is a great yeast.
    Another great Lager yeast I like to use is Mangrove Jack's M76 , is so under rated and over looked. This is my go to Lager yeast and have tried both ways, old method fermented and pressure brewed at 14psi both turned out good 🍺.
    Another interesting adjunct used in Lager and cream ale's flaked Maize 🌽 , I personally prefer the taste of Malted 🌽 maize over flaked and taste is way better from experimenting👌🍺.
    Gladfields Malt's produce this unique product 🍺.

    Great video guys! I want to get into pressure fermentation, eventhough I think I may wait till Anvil gets in the new Keg king Apollo 30L Snub Nose. Anyways I definitely want to try your rice beer recipe using the 34/70. The question I have is, do you pitch the yeast then add pressure from a C02 tank, if so how much psi? Or do you let the yeast get going first then add pressure? Or do you let it naturally build up pressure from yeast creating C02? Again great videos, and can't wait till the next one. ✌️

    • @BEERNBBQBYLARRY
      @BEERNBBQBYLARRY  2 роки тому +1

      I’ve let it naturally pressurize and forcibly. I haven’t noticed any difference except that I sleep better knowing that my fermenter is set to the exact max pressure I want via pressurizing after pitching.

      Larry I have another quick question. When you make a yeast starter for this, do you use the same amounts in your starter for pressure fermentation vs a traditional lager fermentation? Oh and your video on the Bourbon Stout is awesome. Maybe some day when I get better at brewing, I'll take on a challenge brewing a big beer like that one. It looked delicious, and would be great for a cold day like today.

    • @BEERNBBQBYLARRY
      @BEERNBBQBYLARRY  Рік тому +1

      I use the same as I would an ale which is about half a as much as a cold lager fermentation. The warmer temperature makes the yeast ferment faster with less yeast.
