I worked really hard on this one to try and explain Gems in Trove, slowly talking about more complicated mechanics one on top of the other, starting with Lesser Gems, introducing Empowered Gems, Class Gems, and so on.. I'm pretty happy with how it turned out and hope that this guide helps out both new and existing players :)
A common question I'm seeing in the comments that I forgot to mention in the video, is that while a Lesser Gem can only be either Fierce or Arcane, an Empowered gem will be able to have either magic or physical damage. You'll only be able to have one damage type on an Emp gem at a time, but it does mean that while rerolling your Emp gem, you could be aiming for Magic Damage, but get super unlucky and keep rolling the stat from Physical Damage to Max Health, and back to Physical.. HOPE THIS HELPS!

There's a few things I'd like to add to the tutorial. Wednesday is gem day, and there is a lot of bonuses associated to it. You get more gem boxes from dungeons, gems cost less dust to upgrade and you can get 3 or 6 lustrous gem boxes randomly from doing dungeons (3 if you're F2P, 6 if you have patron). Lustrous gem boxes drop gem augment items, and it's always worth getting all of them on Wednesday as they're free and will help you out when you need them. One thing worth noting is to NOT augment gems that aren't worth it, as Scyushi explained you want to get stellar gems with all 3 stats at level 1, only those might be worth augmenting. Another thing is Corruxion, which shows up every second weekend, when Luxion isn't present (one weekend is Luxion, other is Corruxion, then Luxion again etc.), he sells elemental empowered gem boxes, bound brilliance and lustrous gem boxes for chaos cores, which you get from chaos chests. Also I'd suggest for a new player to craft the Book of bound brilliance, which is in the gems section of the adventurer's crafting station, which allows you to get 5 bound brilliance every week, if you craft it early on you can stockpile a lot of bound brilliance passively when you don't need it just so you have it when you do need it.
I've only watched a couple of your vids , I got this on Switch yesterday, but your information is invaluable!! I just thought it was a twee, basic game but it's SO involving and overwhelming 🤣

You know what would have been handy, the game telling you using a 2nd class gem key on the same class won't give you a new class gem, just the same one free m before but maybe a different color.

I also found out that the shadow boxes do not start until delve floor 25. I have never found one on any floor before floor 25

You can roll out physical for magic and visa versa at a gem forge
i really think there should be a pvp mode where ppl with the the same pr fight and the most powerful ones get rewards like gem dust or flux
