Absolutely agree. I have been listening to Szell's Sibelius Symphony No.2 for 40 years, no other conductors came close to him.
The name George Szell immediately signifies that this will be no ordinary performance. Ranks alongside Kletski’s legendary Philharmonia recording from the mid 50’s though Szell enjoys the benefit of stereo sound - brilliant!
Just sensational. Szell was a very fine conductor - one the greatest, perhaps.
This recording is phenomenally brilliant! Such a treasure for the ears and spirit. 🥹🤯🥰
