Thanks for your review! I'm just starting to get into botanical art mainly with watercolor and coloured pencils. I was wondering what you think about the Botanical Art Techniques by the American Society of Botanical Artists if you have read that book.
You just made my day! I love your book reviews! Informative and honest ! Thank you 🙏 p.s. you should be a hand model! 😍 I get what you’re saying about beginners learning from the best but as a beginner I feel this book would be difficult for me to follow because I can’t draw...what do you think 🤔?
I prefer watercolour to pencil, because I think that using pencil is a big waste of pigment. This is my impression. I love the work of this artist, even if I think that she has a soft, velvet style that in some subjects is stunning, for others subjects (the leaves of the apple tree) I prefer a more 'sharp' style, like Anna Mason or Rosie Sanders. I think the second part would be interesting for painting in a velvet style
@@demi3115 sorry, perhaps I didn't express myself right...I mean that if you use coloured pencils instead of watercolour, if you sharpen the pencil many times in order to have a perfect point, you don't use that pigment, you throw it away. If you paint in watercolour you don't waste anything and I suppose that it's cheaper...isn't it?
Thank you for reviewing Alyona... it's nice when the artist/author shares the colours they use. Take care.
Watched this review again and loved it. I ordered the book and look forward to working (or should I say playing) with it!
Excellent work‼︎ Thanks for sharing‼︎
You very talented‼︎
Yay😀 I have been curious about this one! Thanks for reviewing it.❤
Great review Alyona! I love your book reviews, they really help me to decide if it's worth purchasing a book or not. This looks like a good one.
I love her work! Thanks for showing this book! ✨

Arabesque Jacob I find that sometimes imitation is a good starting point. :)
Is this your favorite for beginners?

Curious why youl would say that pencils are a waste of pigment??????????? That doesn't make any sense.
