Having students with "causes" disrupt normal classroom and other campus activities that actually require learning (and without sanctions) is an old story at universities. It didn't start with October 7, 2023, but could be experienced in the late 1960s-early '70s during the Vietnam conflict.

Approx 80 percent of American Jews support Israel and its right to exist. Over 7 million Jews live in Israel and I’m pretty sure they want to continue to exist. This does not include the Christians and Muslims in Israel that also have the right to exist. In addition , there are many Zionists that live throughout the world that are of other faiths and many that are Jewish. Based on these numbers, being anti-Zionist is anti-Jewish. Because the majority of our population throughout the world believes that Israel had the right to exist and that Jews have the right to live there along side Muslims and Christians and any other religion that wants to live there in peace. By saying that you only disagree with approx 80 percent of Jews in the US and 100 percent of Jews in Israel, not to mention our people that live in other countries, anti-Israel(anti-Zionist) is anti Jewish. If believing Israel should survive and thrive is part of most Jews belief system, you do not have our permission to seperate Anti-Israel from Anti-Jewish. If you are opposed to Israel existing, you are more than welcome to move to any of the countries that have kicked us out and will not allow us to return. So many choices!!! Gay gezunt!!!

Late Prof. Roderick McFarhquar MP, who taught his famous course on the Chinese Cultural Revolutions (which I took my freshMAN year as it was right at Tiananamen Square massacre and many escaped dissidents were given sanctuary at Harvard as visiting fellows) would be rolling in his grave... and he was a moderate lefty himself.
