- Mr. Hopp's Playhouse tells a twisted story full of mystery and interpreation set across two games. The sequel Mr. Hopp's Playhouse 2 is in fact a prequel to the original story. In this video we look at the plight of both protagonists Ester and Ruby and how they are connected. We investigate the mysterious origins of Mr. Hopp and the entity controlling him. And we piece this tale of intrigue together so it all makes sense. So join me for a new horror game explained and game theory video, looking at the complete story of Mr. Hopp's Playhouse.

Something that makes Dee’s story even more disturbing is that wasn’t just a matron she killed. It was her mother. Dee killed her own mother and said, “She deserved it.”
i mean. maybe she did deserve it. that one matron locked esther in the basement (in a jail cell no less), who’s to say that fee’s mother didn’t do the same

Fun fact: In the original game, Ruby was supposed to have an actual handgun instead of a slingshot.
There was a theory that Ruby had shot her parents in a blind rage and used Mr. Hopp as a cover story for her actions.
In the original game, the scratches in her parents' bedroom used to be blood aswell, they just made it a bit more "kid-friendly" to the younger people playing the game haha

Did you ever notice that when Beverly locked Esther in the cell in the celler that that was the only time she ever got attacked, noticed it, or even new about any of this so it was like Mr. Hopp was mad at her for locking Esther in there so he attacked her and practically tried to help her by giving her the key and was trying to protect her without the entity noticing so he could still live but not kill Esther

if the series does continue then it could have Esther's friends Molly and Issac experiencing a new haunting by their respective plushies or Ruby finding some type of message from Esther telling Ruby to go find Molly and Issac and when she arrives the other plushies come to live
I like how in a lot of horror games, the second version is just a prequel from the first one, like little nightmares 2 etc

It didn't defeat the entity, the ending foreshadowed the third game or the fate. The police officer or fireman picked up Mr Hopps. I don't think they'd add that if the entity was gone.

Man demons are terrifying clever, they could not defeat esther in her best so they stuck around to catch her off guard at her last days.
9:08 I found this out by accident but the all black figure in this scene is one you can purchase from the extras menu and if you use it and then encounter this figure she used to say: who are you? Are got a secret ending but this secret was only in the beta version and is no longer there sadly it won’t do anything if you try lol
I think when I watched Manly's playthrough, it showed that even though Ester escaped in the end, the entity did one last action: although it didn't harm her, it wiped her memories of the horrors it inflicted during that short time. That's why she kept the doll around- the only memory she probably had left was when she picked it up and named it but nothing else. At that point, the Entity stayed dormant until just before the first game, and... well, we know the rest...
They only wiped her memory during the bad ending.

@@Pikrioling ah, I see. Then maybe she left without the doll but The Entity came back and the doll reappeared after the necklace's power fades years later. With the power faded the Entity then possesses her (since there's no way she'd carry that thing around if she still knew/ remembered what it did to her).

@@seangiglio I kinda see both sides making 1/2 sense. It makes sense that a gun would be the weapon since it is much stronger and gives it more of a reason to be locked up (it also makes sense for why police were called in the normal ending). What doesn't make sense is how Ruby can use it with such ease, since she seems younger than 10 and probably was never taught how to use a gun property.

One thing i think was incorrect, was when it was said that the entity possessed Esther when she grew old. I believe she developed dementia and forgot, giving Mr Hopp to Ruby. The reason the Entity was behind her was to watch her make one mistake needed for the Entity to return. I believe she had dementia because in one of the tapes(first game), it was mentioned that she forgot who Ruby's parents were when they went to visit her. Esther's sudden passing was the cause of the Entity who took advantage of her due to her mind being weak.

Firefighters put down Ruby’s house fire but one of the firefighters actually found Mr Hopps Lon the ground so that means there could be a third game..It could also have the plot of Ruby being an adult and finally truly killing the entity once and for all.

Like Monday Midnight says, it's fair to assume that the Entity revealed itself to Dee and preyed on her status as a child orphan, as her era was much more superstitious and the human mind was much less skeptical. And y'know, she's a kid, who was probably lonely and maybe angry.
Or because it hasn't shown itself in our realm before, and had yet to be cursed to need a solid form (doll, person) to remain here.

Little theory:
Maybe Beverly, (the one who locked Esther in the cellar,) knew about the entity, and was trying to stop it. She locked the bodies of Esther’s friends in the cupboard. She locked her in the cellar. She didn’t want her to become like Dee.

My guess in the lore, the Manor was an orphanage and when the child got her power she attacked her caretaker, and violently beat her up and eventually ripped her apart. She eventually also possibly killed the other caretakers if they witnessed it. When the screams died down, the authorities stepped in and found the inside the manor was a blood bath. This led her to be executed by burning at the stake.
Mike, I just thought of something. Remember that fire in the chapter: "The Six"? Well, it seems pretty random, right? Well, what if that was hinting to how Esther lost her parents and ended up in the orphanage? You mentioned how the Entity was hinting towards Esther's possible pain of losing her family. This possibly could mean that she lost her parents in a house fire when she was young. What do you think?
Wasn't Dee burned at the stake? In a previous nightmare we also saw a stake when we extinguished the fire.

That's a very good observation. Yes Dee was burned at the stake, but that plot point is most prominent in chapter: "The Loop", with the portrait, torches, and matron. But, Esther could be linked to a fire as well. While she could have lost her parents during war, that could mean that their house could've been burned down by soldiers, killing her parents and starting the pain that Dee claims to relate to.
I think all the fire references are tied to the entity being a representation of Satan (hell being synonemous with flames) and even more specifically the fate of Dee, who burned at the stake and now harbours the entity within her. But It's all down to personal interpretation!

Ruby’s Ending Theory (of course not real):
It is now the year 2020. Ruby’s mom and dad died from COVID in May. She was orphaned a month later and lived in an orphanage called “Blackhouse Manor”, a rebuilt version of the orphanage Esther lived in. On her first day in the orphanage, she had a nightmare. She was wandering around the orphanage when she came across a girl named Diana. In fact Diana is a real girl in the orphanage, who joined the orphanage the same time Ruby did. Diana was related to Dee, but it is unknown how she is related to her. Diana turns black, and Ruby asks what is happening to her. Diana suddenly turns into THE ENTITY, chasing after Ruby. Ruby wakes up after reaching a dead end in her dream. Diana was smiling sweetly at her, asking if she had a bad dream. Ruby ignored her and told her she had a good dream. Ruby had 2 friends in the orphanage - Moriah and Timmy. Moriah is an elder sister to 2 younger siblings. They are cousins to Molly’s grandchildren. Timmy is the only child, trying to find his other siblings. His siblings and him are cousins to Isaac’s grandchildren. Moriah and Timmy were debating on whether her dream meant there’s something wrong in the orphanage or maybe she is just crazy. Of course, Timmy thinks there is something wrong with the orphanage while Moriah thinks that Ruby is crazy. She has the same dream over and over again. She woke up again one day from that dream. Matron Luisa, the cold matron in the orphanage, put a box on the floor. The box was labelled DONATED TOYS. The three looked inside the box to see the same toys that Esther and her friends found. Ruby didn’t bring Mr. Hopps to the orphanage because she lost it during the time her parents were sick. Thinking that it was safe now, Ruby grabbed it and hugged it tightly. Timmy named the tiger Tiggy and Moriah named the panda PauPau. I’m pretty sure that Hopps, Stripes, and Bo were Dee’s toys before she met the Entity, and after she died the Entity latched onto her and possessed her toys so she could get her revenge.
@ItsRalphInnit It wasn't Esther's grandmother since in the first game it stated that the main character (Ruby) received Mr. Hopps from her grandmother which is Esther in Hopp's 2. It is told that Esther was the one who made the bunny for Ruby but due to some contradictions, it is suspected that she got possessed by the doll that force her to give it away to her granddaughter even if she knew it is dangerous.

I have always had a little headcanon that Miss Beverley is the way she is because of Dee. I think of this because the two interacted a long time back at the manor and Dee tried to manipulate the woman into helping the demon. However, she resisted and the girl ended up tormenting her to the point she nearly went insane. So, she had to get rid of the toys that severed as the anchors for the entity, only for them to mysteriously return. She might be so harsh on the kids not because she hates them, but because she is trying to encourage them to leave the manor as soon as possible. It might also be why Mr. Hopp captured her and dragged her off to the underworld to prevent the lady from further stopping their plans. Sometimes actions speak louder then words, and actions are very meaningful in this story.

You know the prequal mr hopps playhouse 2 opens up the possibility for spin off games like mr stripes playhouse and miss bo's playhouse. mr. Stripes would be haunting a family member from Issac's family and Miss bo would be doing the same to a member from Molly's family
And the grand children of all three band together using the six medallions to defeat them once and for all

He sells almost every thing, but some thing makes him feel like he shouldn't sell mr stripes. A week later, MC is homeless,on the streets,in a gang,and he doesn't know it, but Mr stripes killed his entire family.but he keeps Mr stripes. Mr stripes takes full form on the streets. BOOM FULL BACKSTORY FOR MR STRIPES ON THE STREETS
