It’s a shame that Game Pass gets such a negative light in these convos. Lots of great games have been getting added to that library this year like Evil West, Roller Drome, and games you’d be interested to play but probably not pay for like Immortals of Aveum and Lords of the Fallen.
I wonder if people had a similar experience like me when I was a Gamepass member.
For me, i just had no time. Gamepass got too overwhelming. Between my full-time job and parenting duties I can maybe complete 2-3 games a month. Sometimes 1 big rpg like Persona 5 can make the subscription end up feeling more expensive than just buying the actual game.
I eventually ended my Gamepass membership just cause I cldnt keep up and not engaging with the new additions just made me feel like I was wasting money every month
So I feel much more relaxed just buying a game or two every month
I think a lot of people would rather buy the games they want to play not rent a bunch of games they may not want.
@@solidkwon Yeah, that is one of the drawbacks of game pass. If you’re someone that doesn’t have a lot of time for gaming then it’s a hard sell.
@@AllThingsInfamous1 fair point. But I still think it’s a great access point for avoiding paying $60 for a game. Like with Black Ops 6, I’d rather use Game Pass for that 6 hour campaign than fork out $60. I want to play it, but my wallet would say otherwise. Same with other games I’ve played like Dead Island and Starfield.
I think what they’re talking about is how their subscriptions are stagnant. So either they need to get more subscribers or they increase the price.
While I’m sure most customers are happy, I know I’ve played great indies off of it, it seems like their tactics haven’t convinced a major number of new customers to sign up.
Very happy with my series x and gamepass, dont get all the negativity about xbox these days. I have a massive backlog of games on gamepass I will probably never get through, for the average person its the best deal in gaming. 16 a month is a lot more affordable that 70/80 for a new game you might not even like.
People like you are the problem...if you dont like paying for games find a new hobby ...the devs dont make these games to receive little to no money
“Don’t get all the negativity about Xbox these days”
Well if you don’t get it you don’t get it. Ignorance is bliss I guess?
The people in the video it’s their job to get it.
I mean currently PlayStation is outselling Xbox 5:1 so whether you get it or not you’ll find out eventually.
How come nobody makes a video about how they double the price of PlayStation Network and they are actually giving you less than they did before and yet they somehow got more members then game pass. The media is to blame
I bought a yearly subscription of PS Plus extra. I don't know what I was on. The regret will haunt me to the grave. I could convince myself to tolerate the lack of day-one releases. But I just couldn't stomach the fact that even old Sony exclusives are at the risk of leaving the service, as in the case with Horizon Zero Dawn recently.
@@massinirev2283 yeah I think they're going to remaster that game and sell it for $70. I'm talking about horizon zero dawn LOL

Hey why are these videos not being updated on the Roku app. ????
God, I’m so excited for the 19th entry in the COD games
Gamepass has been going for 8 years now. What do ya mean save it??
What it is that nobody knows about game pass, I asked some gamers what they thought of game pass and they said "what is game pass?", with COD they should just tell people "rent and play this game and hundreds of others for just 16.99"
thanks Tam and Lucy for doing this bite-sized conversational format. MS, for better or worse, is spearheading the shift in gaming consumption and profits. do you think Sony will update their services to compete with the GamePass model?
I dont think Sony can afford to. Their profit margins for making their own games and securing exclusives are already so thin. Plus majority of the revenues for Playstation comes from just 10 games- Fortnite, Warzone, Call of Duty, Destiny 2, Genshin Impact, GTA V, Madden, NBA 2K, MLB The Show, Apex Legends
MS can shift money from its non-gaming divisions to keep Gamepass going, but Sony doesnt have the same financial ability to boost PS Plus like that
I feel like there's a serious lack of a push towards classic games on game pass. Tons of great games from the 360 and even Xbox era to tap into I feel.
I think the important thing for call of duty, is to release a good game. It’s easy for the player base to die when they didn’t buy game
Loving the NIN pin, badge, whatever it is on Lucy’s denim
I quite like the game pass I recently am playing the hellblade games and the banjo kazoo or games before that.
click bait journalism. The real problem with the gaming industry.
Game pass is good.
I love my series X and all the bad mouthing I don't get. I have had my 1st problem with my series X lately. Some games I have on disc are working but a lot of my games aren't working. I would really appreciate any help with this cos I'm absolutely pulling my hair out! I have my brother in law lend me his copy of Resident Evil Village and it installed straight away but I purchased Dead Island 2 twice and Call of Duty modem warfare 2 and they didn't work! I'm really confused and would love to know if anyone else has this problem.
I think Call of Duty on Gamepass is the right move for MS.
Initially, most people will still buy it on Playstation so MS will still get the 70% cut in sales from selling on that platform, and at the same time, it should definitely make Xbox and Gamepass wayy more attractive and enticing to the mainstream casual gaming audience. It should end up bolsterimg Gamepass sub numbers. So it rly shd be win-win for MS to go this route
Netflix was stagnant for a few years but once people got over the need to own everything Netflix rapidly because the dominating platform...
And thats why we now have 6-10 more Netflix wannabes.
Disney+
HBO
Amazon+
You name it.
Its cheaper/better for the publisher and I think its better for the customer.
All first party Games (in this case) release on Game Pass day 1 and never leave.
Call of Duty joining Xbox Game Pass could be a game-changer! 💥🎮 Can't wait to see what this means for the future of gaming. #XboxGamePass #CallOfDuty
2:00 thats incorrect batman Arkham knight is on gamepass and it was released on all platforms (eventually, nintendo switch)
You are missing a big thing, MS doesn't care where you are. Even if you subscribe PC game pass, it's win for them. As long as you are part of their eco system, it will work for them. Next stop world of warcraft .
i'm curious to see how popular will be Black OPS 6 on Gamepass Ultimate. i liked to hear your thoughts on it, Lucy and Tam. i think it was a great video, Lucy, Tam and Gamespot-Team
It would be weird if somehow it didn't launch day one on game pass, because all first party games was supposed to be like that, no exception.
Unless they lied to us, which wouldn't be surprising considering how big companies operate.
But yeah... It was always supposed to be like that
I had not heard of this before, looked it up, and they are talking about "growth", "targets". That doesn't mean at all that it's failing. If it were failing that is an entirely different conversation. And looking at the targets, they targeted 75% growth? That's insane. No product or service sustains a 75% growth rate for any length of time. Huge fans of both of you, but I don't get the gloom about this announcement. I'm shocked that they would even set a growth target so high because they were already at a pretty high subscriber saturation point, so it's more important that they keep the subscriber base high than meeting a crazy growth rate.
I have GamePass and I used to play COD for years. Even with it being "free" I still won't be playing it. They lost my interest years ago, when they repeatedly gave us the same tired old maps as "new" content for a battle pass.
we are 4 yrs into this console generation ALOT of people already have what console they want they are not buying a whole other console just for Cod and most people I know only play warzone which is free
Love the warriors gear. Didn’t know y’all rep the bay
It was obvious once they bought activision but this does show the weak past of Xbox in this generation. I do enjoy the opportunity to play gamepass on multiple devices like a tv or tablet but I am upset that I bought a XSX when I have a PS5 too.
Back when we thought the plan was to force holdouts to finally upgrade and advertise cod on game pass heavily to try and bring them over I said maybe. Now that we know for sure people can just stay wherever they are and pay the $70, no. Path of least resistance.
All the cods coming or just this
Yall need Saving, GS is the biggest gaming subscriptionout there... IGN will come for them cheeks.
I mean inflation and games being about 70 to 100 bucks in general, you gotta pick and choose now. Not including dlc/micro transactions and subscriptions ontop of it. Idk. 🤷
Does that mean bo2 and bo1 coming to game pass
The reason I don't subscribe to gamepass is because I don't feel like I could get the full value out of it while working full time. I tried it and I have subscribed for like a month when games I wanted to try came out, but that was back when they were doing $1 gamepass on pc
Yeah Tam because PlayStation showed last night that they have so much coming for you PS fans.....I don't think. Lets see how you feel after the Xbox showcase and then you realise how terrible last nights State of Play was 🤦♂
But PS are good at getting 3rd party exclusives to tide them over whilst waiting for 1st party to do their thing. Something Xbox need to get better at.
I’d rather pay $70 for BO6 BUT have all cods’s fixed and in gamepass from the OG through to MW19. The older COD’s were better and deserve the gamepass treatment imho.
They've done it. They've found a way to make people pay a subscription to play call of duty.
Feels like activision wanted this since they first started putting out map packs
Save? Is it in danger? Not the right word i guess
If they didn't put it on Game Pass they would have wasted billions. And I also think that Microsoft will at the very least consider GTA VI for Game Pass. It will cost them a lot of money to make something like that happen but Microsoft has historically been huge on spending money. So I wouldn't say it's impossible. It all depends on Rockstar and their terms to accept a Game Pass deal.
weird video/title.
I wasn't under the impression Game Pass needed saving. On the contrary by every metric it's the leading industry standard as far as game subscription services go.
I know it's not the topic of the video, and i know it's not my problem but...Man, i hope Tamoor and Lucy date each other some day.

Twiggle gum and twiggle day.Are you forgetting the p c part of gamepass
What are you talking about "Game Pass Savior"? Game Pass is in no danger as it is.
At this current rate it’s not sustainable. The money it takes for these Gamepass deals shd be outweighed by the profits of the subscription fees, but subscriber growth has plateaued for like 3 years now.
So MS is hoping this CoD move will bolster Gamepass growth and make it more sustainable
@@solidkwonwell you should definitely contact that trillion dollar company and tell them how they should manage gamepass before they lose all of their money.
@@solidkwon34M x $15 x 12 = $6.12B yearly.
MS paid $1B for all third party games on Game Pass last year.
Did MS pay over $5.2B (worst case scenario) to develop for all first party games last year? (If the games didnt sell one single copy)?
Cant see the new COD moving the needle with people who ONLY play COD, doesnt make financial sense. $70 vs a year of Gamepass. Microsoft will still win either way. Put all the old cods on there and that might do something
many cod players play cod exclusively though. so a one time 70 usd payment on playstation still sounds better than 18 usd every month until the next cod comes out 😂
With cheaper DLC on Xbox, and some kind of special gun wrapper (skin) that you can see when reloading a weapon at a certain place or whatever.
To say that COD wont sell Game Pass subs or move from consoles to Xbox is a d*mb lie though.. It will..
And besides, COD wont be the only BIG releases on Game Pass once next COD goes day 1 on Game Pass..
There will be an avalanche of big titles launching, and thats just sound business strategy.
...a day late and a dollar short...
YUHHH
Let speak about xbox why not
About the playstation
Probably going to be even more cheaters in cod now
No. The primary reason PlayStation dominates sales isn't just because of Sony exclusives like GoW, or Spider-Man. It's mainly because of the massive install bases of annualized games like CoD, FIFA, Madden, etc. People play where their friends are. Most people can't afford both consoles, and just buy the one their friends play on. Even though CoD is a cross-platform game, it's largest player base is on PlayStation. Game Pass (including PC Game Pass) might see a bump in players with BO6, but it will still be a drop in the bucket compared to PS. So, the real question is what are Microsoft Gaming's expectations when BO6 hits Game Pass? If they're realistic, then Game Pass does business as usual. But if they're unrealistic, we may see a shift away from Game Pass.
Thats true, but we will see what happens when the next gen consoles hit the market.
I think COD being Game Pass might make some people shift consoles but considering they may have a library of games on an other platform, not so many.
Will COD sell Game Pass subs?
Definitely!
The issue for me with gamepass is too little rotation of games and too many games I want to play are not there, so I would still need to spend outside of it
You clearly have not looked at what’s on GamePass lately.. that’s a ridiculous statement at best.
Did you really think for $17 a month you’d get every game that comes out? Lol 😂
@@user-yg1jd6dt1b No, it's a service, so it's limited, of course. It just doesn't work for me as I wasn't really saving money, but spending the subscription fee for games I didn't really want to play and having to also spend on games outside of it. Also, some games came to gamepass after a lot of people already owned them (e.g. doom eternal) so the benefit for those kinda got lost there for a lot of people...
Lol, please enlighten us about the ps dumpster fire of the state of play that it was yesterday. Game pass will be fine
I hate it when all journalists use the word “free” to describe games on gamepass. Nothing is free, there is a monthly fee, the game becomes inaccessible the moment you stop paying.
And people hate why you guys don't understand when we say "free".
You pay a monthly fee, then you play just one game that matches this fee. Now, everything else is free. It's as simple as that.
You pay 15 euros and you play Call of Duty, which is a 80 euros game. Do the math, my man. Also, you won't be playing only call of duty, so yeah... Once you play a 15 euros game, the others count as free
Gamepass was already great to me, Black Ops 6 will just be the cherry on top
MS has to try, it's the ultimate proof of concept. If Black ops 6 doesn't substantially drive subscriber numbers. There are serious issues with the concept as it is and for future development.
Nope, sure the service has it's own issues but that isn't a COD issue, they make so much money from cod, that having it on GP is another way of making way more than just game sales/micro-transactions, Gamepass subs gives the game a higher reach and another $£10-20 per month on top, wether people play it or not it's always being paid for.
Its official GP price will go up to $20+ by the end of the year. Xbox will continue to focus less on hardware and instead an ecosystem. I’m just not a fan of Phil Spencer lying about the hardware.
@@AllThingsInfamous1 he really has 🤦🏽♂️ lied his way into our bank accounts my XSX is catching dust
Nope. It's only a matter of time until Microsoft goes full third party publishing. The signs are all there. COD won't save Gamepass
I really don't care about CoD, but it probably won't sell more Xbox Consoles...
I love xbox but hate cod, so we are properly fooked🤷♂️🤦♂️
Or do what your doing now (other games) and don't play cod? That's on you not Xbox, they're giving you another game on Gamepass they don't care if we play it, it's part of the service.
xbox wasted their money with an unnecessary purchase.
They didn't tho, they'll get 100% income from ABK and Xbox, make extra from PC, PS etc, micro-transactions give more than the sale of the game over extended time, instant cash.
Xbox wins all day ps has no games but don’t worry Xbox will give ps some 😂😂😂😂

Since when did gamepass need saving? All of a sudden gamepass is in danger. Here we go yet again. Goal post gotta be outta the stadium by now right?
I don't understand why people complain about game pass when there's still better games on Xbox compared to ps, this yr is gonna be huge for game pass in Aug, Sept. Id rather pay $20 a month to play great games them pay $100 for each game on ps5 PlayStations a rip off
yeah you guys really want xbox to fail so that only playstation exist or something.
I never had a problem with Xbox nor gamepass. I don’t get what the negativity or the need to “save it” is
Game Pass is a terrible business model. Games are too expensive to make and take too long to get out the door. Consumers are too fickle and refuse to pay more (remember the backlash from $60 to $70 games?). The reality is the industry and consumers are going opposing directions. I would expect more layoffs and consolidation in the industry.
@@notjustklownin9506 ah yes, their strategy is working so well which obviously explains why they're hardware is being outsold more than 2:1 and they're closing studios despite paying an absurd amount of money for ABK.

You guys are completely wrong on GamePass and it shows that you are a bunch of Sony Bought Ponys. GamePass brings in 3 to 4 Billion in revenue a year just alone in Gamepass. Gamepass isn't dying, Xbox isn't dying. Your fanboy is. Sony won't last much longer enjoy the Copeum
Why are we still talking about Xbox in a positive light after what they have done? And in turn boosting Game Pass, they will loose their usual sales.
@@environm3ntalist549 I also thought that at first. But, the way Game Pass sales are declining made me think otherwise. Reports said that if MS didn't buy ActiBliz, their Xbox profits last year would have been negative 5%
