yes it is, it's my hometown and there are more interesting places to visit in Malang other than Rainbow village. formally called as Malang Raya or Greater Malang, it spans from the mountains area (Batu, Cangar and Wonosari plantation on the foot of Arjuno - Welirang, both are dormant volcanoes and a part of Tenger and Semeru on the south) to valleys (the city of Malang itself) and long line of pristine beaches (The Malang Region - a part of Southern Sea of Java). if you are planning to come over to Malang, do visit a cafe called Huize Jon , it's on walking distance from Tugu Hotel, you only need to walk to the direction of the Malang Cathedral, it's on the corner stores, right side of the road, behind the Tourism Information Service. the owner of Huize Jon used to be a tour guide turned barista. he will not only serve you great coffee but a lot of stories and travel suggestions as he used to work as tour guide for around 20 years.
I think you must Around java, Java Trip, and especially Semarang, city of history, same like surabaya, a lot of Colonial Histories Building, and have iconic building ,like 1000 windows (Lawang Sewu), Old City (Kota Lama), Sampoo kong and if you like nature culture,can come to Bandungan, different part of Semarang city

Welcome to my hometown ❤️❤️❤️ Actually living in my hometown would be cheaper than Jakarta, Bandung, and Bali. But actually not that as cheap as Yogyakarta & Central Java. Central Java & Yogyakarta's price can't even compare with any place in Indonesia 😅 But my hometown is the best place to live in because the air is fresher and the traffic not that crazy ❤️

I moved from Bali to Malang for some reason a few years ago and yeah I have to agree with you, Dany. This place is meh, maybe not the best city in Java or Indonesia but its pretty great and liveable. You can see and get pretty much everything here. And the weather, dang, at least its not as hot as Denpasar, I dont really like hot weather tho lol.

Hello Dany, thank you for your trip to Malang in East Java. That city is pretty and quite freezy for me. I am an Indonesian, a female Central Javanese. I hope your travelling to Semarang was good. Did you go to Lawang Sewu building? As you know, in the past, it was one of the Dutch "ghostly" building legacies in Central Java. But luckily, the provincial government of Central Java has renovated it in some parts. So, as you see, the Lawang Sewu is now more beautiful and more shiny than before. I hope there is no "ghost" anymore in that very old building, a former scary prison under the Dutch and the Japanese authorities in the past.
I am very grateful to you for sharing your trip in Java. Hopefully, in the near future, you will also travel to outside Java, like Sumatera, Kalimantan, Celebes, Papua, Nusa Tenggara, etc. I guess, you have already visited Bali, one of the famous international destinations in Indonesia. Dear Dany, I am waiting for your next videos...Thank you.

Here in Seattle area, ranch 99 are asian stores, so there probably would be western food store i'm guessing?
Ranch 99 here mostly sell imported products.. Quite expensive for regular Indonesian, but I know many foreigners frequent that stores for the products not sold anywhere else.

Harus diakui bahwa dg diwarna warninya kampung kumuh jodipan, telah mencapai sukses besar sebagai salah satu point iconik dari wajah malang, dan juga menjadi salah satu object wisata menarik.
Namun jujur saja, pendapatku pribadi hal itu salah kaprah. Bagaimanapun kawasan daerah aliran sungai(DAS) baiknya menjadi kawasan hijau hutan kota sebagai bagian dari pengendali banjir, pencegah erosi dan penyeimbang ekosistem terutama untuk area DAS itu sendiri. Selain itu, bermukim di wilayah DAS bisa membahayakan bagi penghuninya, selain juga berpotensi besar sebagi pencemar sungai, dan pengganggu keseimbangan ekosistem disitu.
Jujur walau disitu banyak menjadi kebanggaan sebagi salah satu aspek wisata, namun sebagai warga malang saya tak bangga dan menyayangkannya.
Coba di sekitar sungai banyak pohonnya lebih bagus lagi. Gersang jadi kelihatannya masih kumuh banget
