Dr sab ..one of my brother 25 year old suffering from metastatic colorectal cancer. Treatment was going on tata memorial hospital since last 3 years but recently dr send us back to home .. after giving lota of treatment like chemotherapy radiotherapy and 2 TACE PROCEDURE 1 lung ablation. And many more chemotherapy 3 surgery also .. recent he got jaundice.. is there any chance to survive more sir jee

One of my relatives had mastectomy done and surgery report showed LVI. Post surgery there were 8-9 chemotherapy sessions. Now the doctor says to go for 15 radiotherapy sessions because of LVI. I have studied some literature on cancer that LVI is still a research subject with not much clarity and should not be included for prognosis. Also there are negative effects of radiation therapy and there is no guarantee that all cancer cells will be eliminated and worse it can mutate healthy cells. My relative is a 60 yrs old woman and I do not think it is wise to subject her to radiation therapy and make matters worse when she has already been through surgery and chemo. Please put forth your opinion on this issue
LVI alone is generally not the reason. In a borderline case it may be one of the factors.
I don't know why you are so worried of Radiation.It is pretty safe at a good centre. Why not worry about disease more than worrying about treatment. Believe me disease is worse.
@@drjayeshsharma thanks for your reply. If you could please tell me the success rate of radiation therapy in eliminating the remaining cancer cells then maybe I can put my mind at rest.
I will not go into that argument. Suppose it reduces cancer risk by 5% (Not a real number, just an example). Why would you like a 5% higher risk of cancer just to avoid treatment? This is exactly what i said in this video. The fear of treatment causing a 2% harm is bigger than the fear of disease causing 100% harm.
@@drjayeshsharma you could have just given me a number i.e the success rate of radiation therapy instead of trying to push me in some sort of a moral dilemma.
Research impact of adjuvant radiation. It depends on many factors. There simply is no one number.
Ultimately You have to believe the evidence based guidelines that show better results with radiation than without it. The guidelines are clear in most cases and borderline in others. As I don’t know all the details I can’t give an answer.
If you don’t want dilemma follow the experts. If you want to be an expert yourself read all the papers the experts have read. There is no shortcut.

There is no single way to reduce ascites. And ascites is generally not the cause of many symptoms. Let’s not focus on that but on her actual symptoms that she experiences. Please consult a palliative specialist. That will be useful for her
