What a great lesson. As a subscriber and Patreon member, I can't believe the value I get from your lessons, Alex. You are a literal goldmine of information and tasty moves and grooves! Thank you so much.
My first album was a B.B. King compilation bought for me by my Mum. I spent years pouring over old blues records and found some stuff most folk are not aware of. Two great albums Peter Green played on are, Otis Spann "The Biggest Thing Since Colossus" & Eddie Boyd and Peter Green "7936 South Rhodes". But my favourite Blues player would have to be the late great Sean Costello (R.I.P Sean). His cover of Dylan's Simple Twist of Fate is one of the best songs I have ever heard and "Have You No Shame" is also pure magic. Tbh I cannot see me listening to the nels cline "lovers" album again. It was not bad, I just felt like I had heard it before.
Thanks for the comment Graeme, indeed those albums featuring Fleetwood Mac and Peter Green are pretty special.. I must’ve listened to that stuff with Otis Spann on repeat back in my late teens. Haven’t heard the Eddie Boyd stuff for quite some time though so appreciate the reminder 🙏🏻 And yes, Sean was amazing, I’m with you on that. One of the few modern blues players that truly spoke to me. Had the pleasure of seeing him live on his European tour (I was touring at the same time and we crossed paths) 🧡 And no worries on not digging Nels Cline.. we can’t all like the same stuff! 😆 Cheers for being here buddy 🍻

If you find the time check out the intro from Mick Taylor on this Gerrry Groom-record, it's amazing 😀ua-cam.com/video/4HMaBzBx520/v-deo.html. Cheers!
Thanks buddy, I really appreciate the comment 🙏🏻 Yes indeed.. I'm with you there.. Mike Bloomfield had a playful aggression that many of the modern bluesmen lack. Things tend to be too smooth and pretty for my tastes in blues nowadays. Thanks for that Mick Taylor track.. sounds ace.. never heard that before. Love how hard he's digging in with the pick 👌🏻
Did you know that BB King was a great admirer of django and was inspired witth django style… the loop is closed 😅
Ah that’s interesting!.. I’m sure I did hear that before but good to know it’s true for sure! 👌🏻
