Today is Yerin & Umji's birthday
Yeah their instrumentals are out of this world. Every title track of Gfriend's from debut up until Love Whisper / Summer Rain was by the same producer duo, Iggy/Youngbae. They've stuck around since as well in the bsides! Same two dudes wrote Rough, Fingertip, Summer Rain, Love Whisper, Navillera, Me Gustas Tu and Glass Bead. They introduced the funk sound to Gfriend's discography, and that's stuck around since. Iggy/Youngbae also incidentally wrote fromis_9's Clover, To Heart and First Love. They also wrote Destiny for IZ*ONE. They also wrote Bim Bam Bum, and worked on Lilac for Rocket Punch. Absolute masters! They also did the bsides "You Are not alone", "Vacation" and "Tik Tik" for Gfriend, which are probably my favorite tracks from them! Iggy also worked on Fever, but with his other production team.

For fingertip mv, a lot were saying that the mv is about Greek mythology the story of the other gods chasing Apollo. And For love whisper Gfriend really had a comeback stage dancing in water! It was really cool. And fun fact, love whispet was choreograph by BTS choreographer. GLEGENDS

I'm crying seriously I'm crying. You are the only non-buddy(or soon to be buddy) reactor for me who really appreciate Gfriend. I love all your compliments about them. Actually I have first hand experience with Fingertip era as it was my first ever comeback with the girls 🥺 I got into them around 2 months before anything Fingertip related happened!
The first thing we saw was their hair colours when they were during a magazine shoot and of course we were all shook since it was the first time since they ever dyed their hair!
Their side tracks before this to me at least don’t sound anything like Fingertip. Although, the mini album that Fingertip came on aka The Awakening, gives me vibes that match with Fingertip!
Ooh and for album listens I don’t know if you have them or I’ve mentioned them but I’ve got the most accurate playlists of the albums (I recently went through them and changed the ones that were from those sus channels!)

It came out literally like the month after Love Whisper as a repackage mini album (it just added Summer Rain, Rainbow and summer rain instrumental, took out love whispers instrumental though)
For Summer Rain there’s no official dance practice so perhaps a fancam of some sort perhaps? There’s a choreo version from the MV but you can’t see the full choreo, but it’s up to you :)
Gfriend will always be my favourite group no matter what, these girls just hold a special place in my heart and make me so happy 🥺

I've been a total Buddy since MGT, the most dangerous song (responsible for most of Yuju's falls on rainy stages.) [Did you hear about our group's infamous "falling video", where Yuju fell like 5 times, but kept getting up, it went viral worldwide, suddenly Gfriend was famous on the news as "the group who doesn't give up"?]
I fell in love with our sweet compassionate excellent comedian, Yerin, she brought me life seeing her variety career (my avatar is from her Running Man debut of her iconic chicken dance!) But after a few more years of getting to know all the girls, I agree with you, loving Sinb's savagery (and sweetness toward Yerin, making the priceless duo, SinRin!) and also Umji, our super-smart maknae who speaks fluent English and Japanese as well as her own made-up language! Not to mention our cutest little bunny, Eunha - anything she does is cute, especially in her short hair... So I just say I love them all, like Yuju's unique brain, and our poor leader Sowon, who's really outmatched by Umji, the smartest maknae in kpop.
Let me also mention Yerin's recent mukbang series, with Sinb as frequent guest. I love that show! Really makes me hungry for great Korean cooking, as well as Yerin's sparkling personality, so much fun...
And here's a real recommendation: when Yerin got all gay and kissy a couple of years ago, much of it was with our savage queen, Sinb! I hope you can find their randiest videos, they were such a joy for my old heart to see two wonderful kids in love, and their stunning antics, and even Sinb's jealousy... Please don't miss that scene. ;)

I saw a lot of comments from the Fingertip MV that this song was underrated or something and that must mean that some people don't actually love this song because it's a different concept but I absolutely LOVE this song aside from Rough, this was the song that made me start checking them out more
FYI if you haven't heard their B-Sides yet, you should cuz they have excellent B-Sides. Their Time For Us and Time For The Moon Night are my favs for B-Sides, they have the God level tier B-Sides like, You Are Not Alone, Flower Garden, Memoria KR.
Just a fun fact to know: Love Whisper choreography was made by Son Sungdeuk, BigHit Performance Director and main choreographer of BTS, he also helped in making Glass Bead, so yeah both have a lot of footwork lol The girls would still say LW is one of their most tiring songs along MGT.

Probably mentioned already, but if you wanna appreciate GFriend's journey even more as a growing buddy, I recommend watching THAT live performance of Me Gustas Tu on a wet stage where they slip and fall multiple times (it's a video that became kinda viral). It does hurt to watch but it ultimately shows their character at the time, which is super encouraging given the level they were at 2 years later for Love Whisper.
Have you noticed the part in Fingertip where Eunha fall from the building was also in Crossroads MV.

the dance is their hardest, the MV is so beautiful, the lake they danced in was dug lined an filled by staff n others just for the MV, they did a lot for this one, this is where the girls were raised and also got special powers from the lake, I think on show champion they did it in a pool live on stage, if you get to see it, pay close attention to the water movement, you will find even the water is n sync lol

Yes! It was perform in produce 48 by 2 different teams . The trainees of produce 48 avoid to get love whisper(because of the sharp choreos and high notes), but since the other songs was already pick up by other teams, the remaining 2 teams had no choices by to pick the board with written love whisper.
SECRET NUMBER main dance DIA asked in her vlive by some fans, what dance cover was the most hardest she ever done , DIA answer GFRIEND SUNBAE-NIM LOVE WHISPER, and she explained why.
Even Gfriend considered love whisper as the hardest choreo they ever had.

So I've been a buddy since Debut (GFRIEND'S Fandom Name) and they have made so many concepts and Fingertip really killed everything it goes so well with them and I'm so proud to be a part of the wonderful fandom
The interesting thing about having these two MV's in one video is how you are both seeing the end and the beginning of Gfriend's story. Fingertip is like the dark future, where the saga of the glass beads leads to the end of friendship. Notice the scene where Eunha falls is the same scene from the beginning of Crossroads. The butterfly is the key to run through time. Also notice the constellation shown near the end. This hints at the story of Apollo. Look up the story and you will see the twisted love affair happening in Fingertips plot. A love that began in Navillera and an affair that started in Love Whisper. Its subtle.
As for Love whisper, more will make sense when you watch "Tale of the Glass Bead" As always, thanks for the reaction. So much fun to see you fall deeper into Gfriend.

You need to do a MV reaction of Sunrise and Time for the Moon Night, both such great songs! They are my favorite from them. Actually the whole TFTM mini is a masterpiece, my favorite album from them. Memoria is incredible too, it has a japanese MV but it was released in korean later. I'm a huge gfriend fan since the beginning when they debuted with glassbead, they are an amazing group, super talented. Laberynth is such a good song too, you should listen to it, or react to the performance MV they did. Anyway, stan gfriend, stan talent ❤️

I was also distracted by Yuju's shoe lace when I watched their dance practice and if you look closely she actually stepped on her shoe lace and she almost tripped while lifting her feet. You can see it at 26:50 and that made me anxious while watching the whole video. Hahaha
there is a performance that they did in a show of this song dancing on the water, you should watch it. U love it.
Yep Love Whisper was the song that the girls from Produce really wanted to avoid because somg itself is very difficult to sing esp the highnotes and the choreo was choreogrpahed by BTS' choreographer... Funny how Kai from Exo said that the dance easnt hard at all.

When you get back to the Crossroads era, you absolutely must must check out "Labyrinth". They performed this awesome Bside track along with their title track Crossroads and it was amazing. It was so good that they were performing it in their last week of promotions on music shows instead of Crossroads. There is no official music video for it, however 1theK made a special music video for it, which is all dance (but it focuses a bit more on visuals and you miss out on some of the dance). The dance practice video for it is great is well. Labyrinth also won the most viewed clip of week (last week of Feb) on Show Champion, and it's a Bside :P

Fingertip I felt like was such a strange era for Gfriend. It was such a drastic change from their previous concept and the response was mixed amongst Buddy’s. I feel like a lot of them just weren’t ready for Gfriend to change concepts so suddenly and at the time, Girl Crush concept wasn’t as big as it is now (2017 was just when it was starting to grow). Plus Fingertip didn’t seem to connect to any storyline and Gfriend didn’t seem to perform it after 2017. So for the most part, it felt like a forgotten Gfriend song, like NO ONE talked about it. UNTIL recently, and suddenly it felt like Fingertip just rose from the dead overnight and suddenly everything connected. And now there is a new appreciation for it. 😊
