I don't believe that there is not an 80's/90's Kid alive that would not Rock that GT.. Absolute Amazing Build. In fact probably the nicest Old School GT BMX Build that I have ever seen. Absolutely Stunning. Love the choice of Decals and especialy the Blue Pro Class Rims with the Yellow Rim Tape. Its all in the Details and you Nailed it!!! I would have made the same choice with the Pro Neck seat post clamp and Stem.. Just Beautiful!!! Job well Done!!!
Ha ha 48 here! same frame body dimensions. We are pilot built humans. Digging trails as a young boy and the satisfaction of air, after the hard free work out, built us into the 90s hardworking attitudes for the builders/ riders of the now work force. Our Dads were no stranger to the feeling of the price of war. Work with your friends, is the definition of man. After war… peace with friends earning a living is something to celebrate. Thank you to my BMX life friends.
Another great video. We are getting spoiled with the daily videos. I really need to find Ernie's 80's Bike shop for my RL20B build. All of the builds you have sent there look flawless.
Shawn....buy GT man...keep it alive...GT has been my favorite bike since they came out with the 87 detour....this yellow and blue bike you have is my favorite bike you have done yet....🤙
You down with coffee and RBB? Yeah, you know me! Let’s talk about Mindy and the whole RD86 crew, such damn nice people. Love their stuff. Mindy made some Rad Racing onesies for me before my son was even born. And always hooks my daughter up with RAD merch. She has amazing creativity with her designs.
Im definitely no expert heck i was barely kicking when these bikes were made. But I don't think I've ever seen an '87 or newer GT frame with the holes on the dropouts. From what I've been able to find (and that's not much on early GTs) is that was mostly done on the '83s to '85s with a few early '86 frames. But again I wasn't around back then and there's very little information on the early '80s GTs. Seems everyone is more focused on the '87-'90 bikes and mostly performers series. Its still a kick a** bike and glad you did spoked wheels instead of the usual mag/skyways.
Hey Shawn, did you use to race or anything? Was just wondering if you were just a rider like most kids and fell in love with BMX or if you did any racing, competition or what. Maybe a good topic for a video, not sure. Also, do you ever hunt for off brands like holeshots, slingshots, or hawks?
Yes and I have talked about it in several videos. As for hunting for off brand bikes, I am always looking for another good quality build but not all bikes appeal to me
Hey man, do you accept people donating there old bikes to you. I have a 2000 Dyno XR all 110% stock except the bars and tires The bars are period accurate Mira Bars. Anyway, not bsing you. I watch a ton of your content. And if you’re interested in it. I’d love to see you do a video on it and see what you do with it. I’d be willing to cover the shipping and all, I was going to rebuild it. But GT is going out of buisness now.
Appreciate the reply, I get it. Yeah it is It’s a super cool mid school bike. I’ve rode GT for years now. Just bought my 3rd after 24 years A GT Mach One Pro The yellow looks really Rad on it. Idk why GT doesn’t try a bit harder with there decals. They could’ve really hit a home run here. But it’s good enough I guess. My first bike was a Dyno Detour a 1990 Still have it, fully stock. I’ll be keeping the Detour though. I started out riding street flatland and half pipes. And graduated to dirt jumping in my teens, hence the Dyno XR buy. Now I am building up a GT Mach One to race a bit at 38 yrs old. And mixing it up with freestyle parts from the new Pro Performer. Love your channel dude. Keep up the amazing content.

Being age 49 at 5ft 9.5" and 69kg's that bike would fit me perfect, I would defo rock that around the suburbs of South Dublin.

Sean, you're killing it with the videos! Love the pro-neck stem and seat clamp. And your matching shirt!
Thank you! I appreciate that.
The OG Eddie look shirt IS dope!
That's one of the best looking bikes you've ever done! It screams 1987. Happy New Year Sean!
Thank you, I appreciate that!
In the 90's as a kid with my yellow GT Interceptor I got a blue pad set and remember kids making fun of me. Those kids didn't know anything.

Happy New Year, thanks for watching!
Lovely. I loved my pro class rims in the 80s. Less rotating weight there for faster

Thanks for watching! You'll have to show us that RL20B when it's done!
If I had that GT back in the 80s I'd be repowdering that bike on a regular basis because it would be my racer and rider.
Great video Sean! I always have bee a freestyle bjke guy, but you really got me loving race bikes!
Glad I could open your eyes to the beauty of race bikes!
Shawn....buy GT man...keep it alive...GT has been my favorite bike since they came out with the 87 detour....this yellow and blue bike you have is my favorite bike you have done yet....🤙
I’m not buying GT
Sweet build. I think black tires would look better. Just my opinion, I feel the colored tires are more for freestyle.
Just a bad 🍑 GT! 😍
You down with coffee and RBB? Yeah, you know me!

What was the name of the wheel? Who sells them?
I said it in the video
@RadBMXBuilds Sean you sure did silly 🤪 me
Show 👍🇧🇷
Appreciate you watching!
Do you think with GT going out of business that will affect their value on these order bikes?
Um, tomorrow is new years eve..
You are correct

I truly appreciate that, I really do. That’s super rad of you but that’s not a bike that I would build. It’s way too new school for me.
