Mokoomba - KUMUKANDA - LIVE at Musica Mundo Festival Amersfoort 2022

Mokoomba is the most exciting band from Africa in the 21st century! The band members bring infectious, enjoyable and extremely danceable music. The band was formed in 2007 and consists of six very talented Zimbabwean musicians with an unstoppable energy on stage. Mokoomba brings to the public an exciting mix of Afro-fusion and seductive traditional Tonga rhythms, drawn from the surroundings of the mighty Victoria Falls.
They draw inspiration from various African music styles. Rhythms and melodies of the Tonga population are mixed with South African soul and gospel, Nigerian afrobeat and Congolese soukous and mixed with a touch of reggae. It results in brooding pan-African dance music. The band name means 'deep respect for the river', an ode to the Zambezi.
