🐶 WOOF WOOF! The best way to move past something, is to just move past it. So here's a new video, a Where To Start for Marvel Comics! . Hope you all enjoy it, and feel free to share so we can get more people into the most recognisable comic brand in the world! If you like it, give it a thumbs up, and subscribe if you're new! . I just wanted to say a huge thank you to everyone who reached out in the last couple of days. It made me realise that there's more positivity than negativity, and that's what I need to focus on. Tomorrow is my day off, so I'll be replying to as many comments as possible. But honestly, thank you! My review of Marvels should be out next, but until then, stay Mad, Doggs! WOOF WOOF! 🐶
Thank you Melanie, but it's only because I learned from watching the best! :) Although after your video review of DD by Zdarsky, I should have put that on this list! Thanks for watching the video mate! WOOF WOOF! 🐶
Astonishing X-Men is great. New X-Men is good too. But the current House of X/Power of X/ Dawn of X is a perfect place to start too. Not sure about them, give it a try, may just make you want to find out about the past stories. My Advice, never be too worried about just jumping into a book. Every book is some one's first. Don't let it discourage you from trying something that looks interesting to you.
I used to read quite a lot of Marvel Comics back in my local library before i started buying them physically, digitally and also adapted from prose novels. The first one I ever read was "Marvel Super-Heroes Secret Wars" (1984) and then after that a random selection from stand-alone series, crossover events, team-ups and non-canons/alternate universes. It's safe to say this was also my first cross-over event that was filled lot of beloved characters in one place and the first time Spider-Man got the Symbiote suit, which I got me hooked after watching the version from 90's Spider-Man animated series. I still own the prose novel version of Secret Wars (1984) as I still read this amazing story time and time again. Furthermore, usually or sometimes when I'm reading Marvel Comics I don't mind what orders I read it in because I can come back to them in later stage and read them again.
THANK U ! i was trying to start reading for the last 2 year (give or take) and everything I started wasn’t for me , i tried all of this comic books and every one of them was amazing, thank u for helping me get started with this amazing universe ❤️
Re. Iron Man, if someone is starting with Brubaker's Cap, then I'd suggest Warren Ellis' Iron Man that came out at the same time. He only did the first 6 issues of the series, but the whole run works alongside the Cap series really well, especially when they get to Civil War.
Are you talking about the Extremis Directors cut? Sorry I’m trying to get into iron man and cap comics and I recently got marvel unlimited so I just want to be sure.
@@afatmanrunning5195 I think the Director's Cut just refers to an extended issue #1 that they did. Extremis was the name of a 6 issue story arc in Invincible Iron Man in 2005 (I think).
Thor by Simonson Daredevil by Miller Captain America by Waid Fantastic Four by Byrne X-Men by Claremont Spidey by Stern or JMS, which is actually probably a better jumping on point Avengers by Stern or Busiek, again a better jumping on point Iron Man by Micheline and Layton Dr Stange by (again) Stern Ok, a couple of those aren't omni's yet, but I live in hope.

I’ve read my fair share of comics and manga, but a couple years back when I was just reading manga like my hair off and even now reading house, paradise into your eternity. Sometimes I start reading a comic from right to left fully thinking the story is being towed the way it’s supposed to and not noticing until I got in a couple pages in.
I thought that when I watched your latest video haha, but that just speaks to the strengths of these titles! Thanks for watching the video mate! WOOF WOOF! 🐶
my big mistake was trying to get into Marvel comics with Jonathan Hickman’s Avengers aside from the characters I saw from some movies, I had no idea who a lot of the characters were (Read to issue 12) and just didn't know what the fuck was going on lol
I revisited it last year for a review and it still holds up really well! Currently reading his Iron Fist run too! Thanks for watching the video mate :)
I agree with all your picks that I already read. I would also recommend MARVELS to introduce readers to the Marvel universe. Daredevil Man Without Fear is also highly recommended but as a Marvel book only, not as an introduction to the Marvel universe. My first Marvel comics were Iron Man Heroes Return #1 and Daredevil Guardian Devil. What would be your "classic Marvel" books recommendations? I would recommend Avengers Under Siege, Secret Wars, anything drawn by John Byrne, Thor by Walter Simonson and Daredevil by Frank Miller. I think the art and color are the first appeal for new readers as they flip through the book before reading it. Clear storytelling, compelling plot and script are close second.
if I want to start to read marvel comics am I obliged to start with the oldest one that I liked, our I can start were haver I want, and also sometimes in a volume there is a issue that crosses over with a story already happening, my question is if could be ok for to read that single issue If I didn't like that character??????, and I built a time line with the ones that I liked, someone let me know If anyone wants to see the timeline that I built, if anyone wants to give there one opinion
If you’re just kinda dipping your toes in and you want a good self-contained story that doesn’t feel too committal, Spider-Man Life Story is fantastic. It’s a super creative way to tell the classic Spider-Man story. Odds are, you already know the basics of Spider-Man, but it’ll still definitely surprise you with some new spins on old, overdone tropes.
I know that his style isn't to everyone's taste, but my favorite superman comic is Tom King's "Up Up and Away." I'ts a lot like All Star Superman, but i'm personally not a huge fan of the art in that book.
I liked what I have read from Nocenti Daredevil run not sure if you have read that stuff before but they got some epics that covers her entire run i belive

dude, we do share alot of titles just as you said x)
I thought that when I watched your latest video haha, but that just speaks to the strengths of these titles! Thanks for watching the video mate! WOOF WOOF! 🐶
my big mistake was trying to get into Marvel comics with Jonathan Hickman’s Avengers
aside from the characters I saw from some movies, I had no idea who a lot of the characters were (Read to issue 12) and just didn't know what the fuck was going on lol
Iron man by Fraction is so GOOD!! 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
Whenever I read Mark Waid’s name I’ve started having your voice going “Mark Fucking Waid” playing in my head haha
if I want to start to read marvel comics am I obliged to start with the oldest one that I liked, our I can start were haver I want, and also sometimes in a volume there is a issue that crosses over with a story already happening, my question is if could be ok for to read that single issue If I didn't like that character??????, and I built a time line with the ones that I liked, someone let me know If anyone wants to see the timeline that I built, if anyone wants to give there one opinion
My first book was Avengers vs. X-Men because I was familiar with most of the characters
Can you please do a “where to start” for Spider-Man? Please man ur so good at this.
Great video! Not a beginner by any means, but watched this to expand my horizons. Many great choices that I had not thought of.
I have a question, what do the years mean like dear devil 1994 - 2011 or whatever it is. Why does it cap at 2011?
Aw man, you put Dr Strange in the thumbnail, why no comic recommend for Dr Strange?
Hi, do you collect art?
Do you have a lisp? As an American I can't tell if that's some kind of British R lisp I hear
For anyone wondering the color for cap is called captain America white. It’s a one shot that can be found on marvel unlimited
I liked what I have read from Nocenti Daredevil run not sure if you have read that stuff before but they got some epics that covers her entire run i belive
Can i just get a list of what should i read? Idk what i like idk where to start and just want something like a chronological order
so if i read these BEST of all time books I will not be discouraged to read the others because these are the best ones?
Btw when you say ultimate Spider-Man do you mean all the volumes
