Hi Coach! Great stuff! I’ve found myself coming back to your videos multiple times getting ready for next season. Question: What do you think about naming/numbering the wide players 2’s and 3’s in a U9/U10 7 v 7 (instead of 7’s/11’s) in a system where we anticipate playing a 4-4-2 diamond in our club’s older teams? We’re in the Philly area, and the Union’s diamond shape seems to have quite an influence on the local style of play. Thanks!
It’s mostly a matter of semantics - 2 & 3 denote that you want them to run further back (into a back 4). I’d say it’s in 9v9 you make the choice of formation to support whatever happens in 11v11. 7v7 you are introducing everyone to the positions - I wouldn’t worry about it yet!
