  • Jennifer Brown, MD, PhD, Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, Boston, MA, discusses infection risks in patients with chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL). Efforts are underway to use a machine learning algorithm to predict high-risk patients. Current strategies for mitigating infections include vaccinations and intravenous immunoglobulins. Dr Brown also notes that CAR T-cell treatment may exacerbate hypergammaglobulinemia, a rare condition typically caused by infection. This interview took place at the 29th Congress of the European Hematology Association (EHA) in Madrid, Spain.
