Can you post the video showing dismantling of standing light pole in the same way, without using any other machine such as man lift to hook at the top?

Dismantling a standing pole is basically the same way. You just pull up and gently put it down and move the boom out to lay it down

the half hitch will slide down the pole when tension is off

Wow, took them over 8mins to erect a 30 foot standard? The pole material looks aluminum, even steel isn't heavy enough for a 19T stinger crane that is not the right crane for that job. Its way to slow if you have to rig a line to the base. Just pick it up from the top with a tag line and unloose the sling after bolts are torqued.

The pole is galvanised steel, the objective of the excercise was to test the grabber crane as it can still erect a pole while it is windy

if the pole kicks out the man standing sitting at the base would be injured why are they not using a tag line.

I am not sure, these people have been lifting these poles in this way for the last 40 years, I have not heard of any injuries because the pole kicked out. There is another video that shows a pole being installed with a grabber device to lift the pole, that looked at the time very promising and I have noticed it being used on some recently completed roadway lighting, here is the video showing both methods ua-cam.com/video/Eh7ChvEBDNw/v-deo.html Regards, Martin.

      How would it Kick out?
They half hitched the lifting strop at the top of the pole. It should not kick. Personally I would do it much different cause when they put it down on the flange it was not flush which would make it more difficult too tighten the bolts to the flange stud.. other than that it was a very simple and safe technique.
