The Best Map We've Seen Recently? | OMSI 2 | The Adstow Project | NEW Route 16A

- Hello and welcome to another OMSI 2 video!
Well out of nowhere last night I received the latest instalment of The Adstow Project Beta! Version 4 gives us a brand new route to play with which is approximately 35 minutes in length. The route 16A is a countryside route which takes us from the bustling town of Adstow, through to a Countryside village of Castleton.
The Masterswitch Veiling 2 is one of the obvious choices for this map, as it comes with many liveries, so sit back and relax whilst we see just how much The Adstow Project has improved! You may all be pleasantly surprised!

The dev has done really well. It’s always the things you can see first that make the biggest difference on OMSI maps eg the road textures, the garden walls, street lamps, curb heights etc. And this is really well made with lots of custom assets and looks very realistic. Also well driven Joe

What I like about this map is that you can quite clearly see inspiration from my own map, and at the same time, I see things that he's incorporated and I think "why didn't I think of doing that?". There's a very strong Westcountry identity to this map, the boats you see everywhere really root that you're down that way - and I did notice that the place names that have been incorporated onto the signs either exist IRL (i.e., Callington, Carkeel), or are place names that feel local.
There's loads of vistas out on the rural section which are very faithful to the area in terms of layout and geography - my own map is based on a design I made when I was still learning how to map, so I'm not really able to replicate it myself, so I'm glad someone has done this.
The only thing I feel that's a bit disappointing is that you can clearly see the bus station is inspired by Penzance, and the roads leading off it are of a similar configuration - I just wish this continued on a little more in both directions (up the high street, and also outbound along the retaining wall with the rail line underneath). Both elements would be rather unique to OMSI UK mapping. I've delivered many times to various shops and businesses in Penzance, and the layout isn't something you see in OMSI really. It would be an absolute arse to do, perhaps this is why Jack didn't do it?
This feels like a map that's quite far along in its development, I'd love it if when its released, someone were to link this map with WC3. I've already linked up Cotterell to WC4, imagine the three maps together?

Yeah I did get some Westcountry 3 vibes in places. I don't so much mind the "inspired by Penzance" bus station, and as for linking it to Westcountry, that'd be amazing too!

“but sadly I will no longer be working on Adstow as its just not the same as it was 1 year ago. But I'm very thankful for everyone's support with the map it has meant a lot to me. But like I said I am working on a project with someone so you guys will still see stuff made me by me. I hope everyone can understand my decision with the map. I love map editing and its the best thing I've done in Omsi 2, I am not saying that I am never gonna do a project again but The Adstow Project wont be a thing I continue in the future. Once again thank you for the support with the map over the last year and a massive thank you to @Rhys stirling for showing off the map in the past.

Hay Joe it looks like this is around Saltash, Reason is road signs say Plymouth and Carkeel which is a place in Saltash. Just a hunch. Great Video.

One thing what I wish this map actually included for the bus station UK Sunderland Washington bus station I wish you did that on that map I would be perfect just look so beautiful but I love this map for coming on a lot of ready can you go and back on this map and play tomorrow afternoon plus player on play OMSI 2 more often more often please I kind of miss OMSI 2 on this channel😊😊😊

I’m guessing that you based Halbeath P&R and Kirkcaldy of the places in Fife Scotland?
@@thomas-jamesbailey8134so the route 26 which is the route the bus is branded for is a ai route between my map and one of my teams map. So those names are from his map which I believe is based in Scotland. This idea was a while ago so I don’t know if it’s being worked on still but kept it in the map anyways.

Castleton bus station reminds me of whitby bus station
I think it's a brilliant route. The final release will need a lot more bus stops - the garden centre for sure, Joe, but also at every farm etc. Other than that, very, very good. Can't wait to drive it.
The map looks awesome and can not wait for another British map... Long overdue another UK map as I'm getting bored of driving same maps 😂

Joe has had a go at OMSI map building years ago, actually didn't too too badly apart from the fact it was LHD with all the default junctions haha :D

What OMSI seriously need to start doing now is do likes what SCS is doing to theirs ETS2! Am sure Omsi 2 can go on likes the ETS2 too to increased Graphics and filters even post processing ect

Westcountry 3 in my opinion is the best UK map available, I also like Pimlico Route 24, which is freeware but I believe it requires Addon London for the AI buses 😁

Taunton is a cesspool, not a place you would want to go! I would say this has vibes of Cheddar and wells in Somerset.
Does anyone know if Omsi2 would work on a steam deck?? It says it won't (but that isn't the case for many things) just don't want to drop £25 on it for it not to launch at all. Great video! Thanks for posting

Love the map however I dont have a pc at the moment so I can't drive it 😢 as OMSI is not on Xbox .
I wish Bus Sim21 looked this good or sounded as good as this.
It's such a shame that there's been no bus simulator in the last 10 years to rival OMSI, but yeah I agree the map is awesome! :D

I'd never make a good bus driver. At 35:00 minutes I would have been on the horn and shouting at the Volkswagen Transporter that cut in front of you at those traffic lights without indicating.

I am a driver for Salisbury Reds, my main routes I drive are the X5 and X4 all being double decker's (Enviro 400 ADL & Scania OmniCity) some 400's are on Scania chassis.
