  • November 14, 2023 - Annette Bening, Chair of our Board, expresses our relief at the end of the 2023 strikes, but also our concern over the continued hardships we know the entertainment industry will face:
"Hi, I’m Annette Bening, Chair of the Board of the Entertainment Community Fund.
We are relieved that the strikes have resolved, and are eager for productions to resume to bring people films and television shows that brighten our days and enrich our lives.
However, we know many people will face ongoing struggles in the weeks and months to come, even though the strikes have ended. The long-term impact of the work stoppage is substantial, and it will take time for our industry to recover.
But the Fund is here to help, as we always have been when our community faces difficult times. If you or someone you know needs help with health insurance or health care, housing matters, financial assistance, mental health support, or beyond, please get in touch with the Fund’s incredible staff to see how we can be the safety net you need.
We know it will be months before the industry fully recovers, and we encourage those in need to reach out to the Fund.
And we hope that those who can help, continue to do so. Every donation goes a long way in supporting a life in the arts.

unfortunately - the HAC is unsafe...we started a FB page to collaberate and work with the exciting building filled with artists...however...the FB page quickly became a place where we shared pictures of our stolen mail and packages, cars broken into, office staff letting their friends park in our garage on weekend...the office even got broken into 2 days ago...pictures of homeless people in the building smoking meth, half dress women being escorted by management out the door ( were they raped, by someone in the building?). we'll never know.. TSA who manages the building is covering their ass and in the mean time, disabled people and families with children become more scared to live her. We're putting together some notes to speak directly with ECF... you'll be hearing from us soon.

A safety net? I got 1 grant in April that didn't even cover my rent.
