Mark, you mention that you aren't sure that you could get that club in the air on a more "scrubby" lie. Would you consider using that type of club to replace your 3 wood? I am assuming that you are hitting your 3 wood about 240 also

Agree totally with your assessment of the ethos of Ping as a Club maker & good on Ping for using that criteria.
Interesting one that, gave you a bit of a surprise it's seems MC !? We could well yet see it make an appearance in your bag! Don't think you'd have to worry about a scrubby lie, as where you hit it from seemed on camera a pretty tight lie anyway & Ping design these clubs still to be hit with a descending attack angle not so much a sweep anyway & am sure a man of your calibre more than capable of doing that! :)
Mark, if I have all my irons 0.5 inch longer than standard, would I need to get a rapture driving iron lengthened?
+Mark - how far do you hit your G20 vs this Rapture? I believe your G20 is 20 degrees? Cheers much

Just hit on the range and shocked at how accurate the distance and trajectory was! I just simply did not hit a bad shot. It's going to be in my bag since I don't cary a 4i or 3i.
How about the Adams pro dhy driving iron?

I'd like to see it hit from a "scrubby" lie compared to the G20 hybrid. You thought you couldn't launch the ball and after hitting the club suddenly launching the ball was easy.
A driving iron, is very hard to hit from a scrubby lie... I'm using a titleist 712u, 2 iron my self, I would never hit it from a scrubby lie. only like, fairway tee and MAYBE if it was a very good lie in the thinker stuff, I would hit it.
Swelex SoSl I also use the 712U 2 iron and find it easier to hit from any lie than the 910H is used to play. I find you can go at the ball from a variety of attack angles with success. I'm not saying that it would play well from all lies, just that it would play better than the hybrid counterpart.
712U is the only lefthanded cavity 2/3 iron there is atm, am I right? I can't seem to hit it good from scrubby lies though.

Hi Mark. Would you mind reviewing it against Adams tight lies 3 wood?
They are completely different the tight lies is designed to keep the ball in the air and the rapture is designed to keep the flight lower and more controlled the 3 wood will almost always be farther considering longer shaft length and less loft along with the materials used etc.
"I kid my self" funny :) - I do the same.... using mix mp53 but on bad days should perhaps use something like wilson di7 or miz ex
Why the hell would it be in only 1 loft of 18* these types of clubs are so much better as a long iron replacement to bridge the gap between hybrid and irons. In terms of forgiveness it wouldn't it go wood, hybrid, driving iron, irons.
My current bag goes:
driver 8*, 3 wood 15.5*, hybrid 21*, 4 iron - pw, 50*, 54*, 60* and putter.
Using this type of club in my bag I would want it to replace a 4iron with a driving iron with around ~24* of loft. I would of purchased a callaway utility x-proto if it didnt feel harsh and horrible off the face even on centered hits. But the extra height and accuracy made it a amazing i am still looking for a utility/ driving iron obviously ping didnt hit the sweet spot with me on this club, would of been nice to have more ping in the bag.
Hi Mark, how would you compare this to an 18-degree 5-wood ?
It would be shorter in overall length with a lower ball flight, for the simple reason of materials used etc.

He's a 9 handicap and we're pros! Lol
I've seen you guys that are pros and you all make me laugh because in reality you're not shooting very low scores at all and at best low single figure handicap golfers. I'd love to see the scores you've entered for the last 20 rounds.
On a side note, this iron is interesting and I'm definitely going to give it a go once it's available here in New Zealand. I tried the Callaway utility and really wasn't a fan of it.
You have to at least be a low handicapper to even be able to become a PGA pro
