The US-American mezzo-soprano went on to win both the Main Prize and the Song Prize that year, only the second contestant to accomplish this feat.
Jamie Barton has played various roles at Bavarian State Opera, Lyric Opera of Chicago, Munich Opera Festival, Teatro Real Madrid, Royal Opera House among many others, and has been equally sought-after as a concert soloist, including showstopping performances at The Night of the Proms and Carnegie Hall.
Off-stage she uses her voice to advocate for body positivity, social justice issues, and LGBTQ+ rights.

First time i’ve heard an american sing in swedish. Very very well done, incredibly well sung. Thanks for sharing the clip.
I’m surprised i understood almost all of it, i normally have a harder time hearing what’s being sung by female voices, she being able to sing in a very difficult language, and in a very understandable way, is better than many swedish singers would do (regarding the enunciation alone) . Very impressive
