My dad lives in woodland he's 87 his dad and myself we all love fishing the slough and river. Use to be the best pheasant hunting in the state. Times have changed
I went over to Knight's Landing on Memorial Day and found a spot off of Cranmore Road. The parking along Knights Road on the right of the bridge seemed to be permit only. Thanks for the info!
Thank you! This is one of my earliest videos and i was recording with the waterproof case. It took me a while to figure it out hahaha! I appreciate you watching. Catch you next time! tight lines
I haven't fished the American river much lately. I use to go around the Nimbus dam area on the American. When i start fishing that area again i will definitely make a Bank Fishing spot video! Tight Lines!
Are you having any luck in the last few weeks with stripers? I live in chico and launch out of Ord Bend and by Scotty’s a lot (Sacramento River about 60-70 miles north of Sacramento the city) and have had no luck. Any feedback would be appreciated
striper is slow in sac river right now, until around March when they start coming up river to spawn. Ord Bend boat launch is pretty far up river for striper this time of year. If you want to get on some striper go to delta are like Rio Vista area. striper love jerk bait and plastic worms or if you bait fish sardines or pile worm work good Hope this helps Good luck!
@@fishtherapy247 thanks for the info buddy. If you don’t mind me asking, how’s the striper bite at knights landing? Have you got any in the past few weeks? I only go there when the schoolies come in around April. Just curious.
No problem. Yes striper are in sac river year round, they normally stay around the delta and bay in the winter then start to come up sac river in big groups early spring.
No i do not fish san Joaquin river. yes bank fishing is very limited, that's why i wanted to share the spots i known! Thanks for tuning in! Tight lines 🤙
No problem. love helping people get on more fish. Be patient and go fishing as much as possible! always fish high tide or incoming tide. You will get one 👍👊 good luck! Tight lines
I fished all this spot good place to fish but remember we are trespassing sunspots but we could fish any part of the river legally first Beach is a private beach be careful there they don't like people leaving trash in camping there
Yes golden rule when going fishing anywhere don't leave any trash behind! leave the area cleaner then when you got there. Respect the area as it was your backyard and no campers/camping at beaches.
Thanks for the great info. I've never caught a sturgeon before and thats on my bucket list. I've heard people say to try Pittsburgh but having not been there before, I wouldn't know where to start. Can you recommend a spot or two to anchor up and try for sturgeon?
Thank you! Pittsburgh area is good. Anywhere in between 1st and 3rd beach at knight's landing find a deep stop on a bend look for sand bars in the water, if you have a fish finder, look for deep spots. Montezuma Slough is good i made a video on that area or Verona is good. sturgeon are hot right now on the sac river. Good luck! Tight lines 🎣
Anytime, if you launch at the knight's landing boat launch turn left and go upstream from there, maybe a mile or so you will see a beach, that is 1st beach. Hope this helps.
Thanks for posting these it helps the folks without this knowledge
No problem. Thats Awesome, I'm glad it helped you.
Yes I've been fishing knights landing dunnigan slough for 60 years
That's awesome! My dad is 74, and he's been fishing knight's landing since he was 20 years old

Thank you, Good luck!
Thanks man you know any good crappie spots
No i don't.Thanks for tuning in hope it helped!
When's the best time of year for sturgeon and stripers??
I would say sturgeon on sac river you have a 3 month window when they come up river to spawn now to March is best. Striper April-June is best.
@@fishtherapy247 okay, thank you. I know that the stripers are running in the Delta or at least we're running. Do you know if they come up this far?

What line and weight would you recommend for sturgeon fishing? I’d be using a 10 foot penn rod.
Power pro 50 lbs line with 8 to 10 oz. Weight with 2-3 ft.metal or mono leader

@@fishtherapy247 my bad...I was referring to the areas around Pittsburgh but noticed you pointed out a spot towards Sacramento instead.
Sorry....my misunderstanding, im not that familiar with Pittsburgh area. Up coming tide or high tide in the afternoon hours or early morning in best.
