  • In the shadowed depths of Maharashtra's ancient landscape lies a mystery carved in stone - the Kailasa Temple. A monumental enigma, this architectural titan at the Ellora Caves was not built, but actually carved from a single solitary rock. This distinction renders it the world's largest monolithic sculpture hewn from a single piece of rock. Echoing with the mysteries of an advanced ancient civilization, the architectural colossus of the Kailasa Temple showcases a level of advancement and sophistication that challenges the conventional boundaries of time and technology.
    The temple possesses unique acoustic properties, suggesting an understanding of sound engineering that predates modern knowledge. Furthermore, the temple's complex drainage system, still functional after centuries, showcases an advanced understanding of hydraulics.
    Join us on our expedition to explore the mysteries of the Kailasa Temple, piecing together the puzzle of this magnificent testament to human ingenuity and the forgotten advanced knowledge of our ancestors.

    I have been there and it blew my mind! It changed my understanding of ancient architecture. I could tell there were good acoustics and I said to my friends I was traveling with that if monks were in the caves chanting it would be heard miles away! I was simply in complete amazement at the incredible beauty - a perfectly carved elephant from the top down - it was one of the most special spiritual places I have ever been! The art work carved into the rock architecture is a divine labor of conscious love that can produce conscious love in those who go there.

      If you enjoyed this shrine and you have the opportunity check out the 11 churches in Ethiopia called the churches of Lalibela. They are carved from the bedrock at ground level straight down several stories all solid stone. Built around the 12th century by King Lalibela it's said that angels worked the night shift during the 24 hour round the clock constructions. They are truly marvels of art, architecture and human ingenuity.

      @dubl8 In the ancient world there were far less people. Maybe a million here and a million there. So that being said it was far easier for them to leave each other alone because each civilization had everything they needed. They didn't need anything from each other. There was plenty of land for each group to flourish on their own. Thus the absence of warefare on most of these ancient structures.

    • @dubl8
      @dubl8 9 місяців тому +2

      @mikepannucio2315 I'm not so sure it was all built before the last great catastrophic event which I'm guessing you're referring to the one that happened ~12k years ago. Recorded HiStory is a funny thing, especially when you start to dig into what you were taught in school by mandated books vs reading books of actual antiquity, maps, folklore, traditions passed down by natives/tribes and other such forms of information that tend to paint a different picture. Architecture being one of the most telling. Even some of those caves you speak of, that are also found across the globe, that have networks of tunnels, several hundred feet below the surface. The catacombs with millions of bones, skulls and the like so neatly placed into works of art that would make Hades blush. Or more recently with the hundreds of "founded" buildings throughout the north American continent mostly in the 1800s that all tend to look very similar and have almost identical stories of being built in the middle of nowhere in usually a year or less at a time when the frontier was still very dangerous and our main form of travel was horse and buggy. The townsfolk were busy building "insane asylums" that were more massive and detailed than any other structures around. Almost always later turned into museums, schools, universities or government buildings the more recent past. Or better yet abandoned and sometimes demolished if wasn't somehow saved by historic/preservative committees. HiStory is interesting, especially the closer you look at it with a logical perspective.

    Anybody who has seen this can never look at what is supposedly carved from rock using chisels the same. Whoever did this loved working in stone. There is no end to the intricacy of the structures and the depth of artistry in the people and animals depicted. This could perhaps be envisioned and displayed using a powerful 3D graphics computer. Then create a hologram and project it down into the rock where all of the overage is vaporized, leaving what you see now. I'm not saying this is how it was done, but it did take this level of technology to create this.

    You must understand the depth and complexity of faith and where it will take you, in one’s ability to conceptualise and render a devotional temple like this. I guarantee you that the planners, architects and stone masons responsible for this masterpiece, were in deep meditation before, during and after its completion. I can guarantee that through the meditative state, each of the stonemasons were intimately connected to each other and therefore were totally aware of what to do and how to work with each other, in doing it. In completing this stunning statement of faith and practise. Most of the data necessary in executing the work necessary, were produced without plans or meetings or co-ordinators. There were many labourers removing baskets of stone and supporting devotional communities bringing requisites and supplies, but the entire work is and was; a collective demonstration of practise. Both in faith and doctrine. This is human activity at its highest level. It peaked back then. We have totally lost it now.

    The lions on the roof of the temple seem to show the directions, possibly the directions before the end of the Tretayuga. Generally big cats are used worldwide as symbols of the warriors of the gods, using only the local occuring species. Thus the meaning of the four cats if related to the directions would be the ruling of the gods over the earth.

And please people, dont compare it with shitty Petra where they just carved the outer design. The temple in India is a complex, one can enter and explore, each and every corner of the temple complex and it is carved out of a single stone, not on some, comparatively soft red rocky hills of Petra.
