- Tokyo Monorail is one of the best ways to get to And from Haneda airport, which is the best airport in Tokyo. The other airport is Narita, which is much further out.
On this video, we take a ride on the monorail and take a look at the airport during covid times.

i love listening to the announcements and those everyday commuting sounds....
I do too. It really makes me miss Japan.
City life is the peak of human development
Same feeling hahah
the views while travelling was so nice... i miss japan's trains...
As somebody who lives in the suburbs and rarely visits a major city, this is quite fascinating. I don't like cities but for some reason, Tokyo intrigues me. Maybe it's the architecture. It has that something.
The airport looks so deserted. Hopefully there will be a cure for this pandemic in a not too distant future and things will get back to normal. Please stay safe there in Japan
Wow the cleanliness in Japan 👏
@Jake-Kyle Harrison Jnr Singapore is small city but japan is big country
@Jake-Kyle Harrison Jnr Singapore is smaller Japan hahaha. of course.
@@prashantgurung2635 Singapore is a small country !
I really appreciate these videos with generally very little to no talking. I know they aren't for everyone but I enjoy them so much for a change of pace. Keep up the good work and stay safe!
It is heart breaking not seeing people anywhere. Stay safe, amigo.
I've never been to Japan, so this is cool just, to watch. Thank you.
I used the Monorail the last time i was in Japan to get to Haneda. wishing i was there now still. hoping by next spring that Japan will allow visitors again!
It's really sad to see the airport so empty with so many of the shops closed. I live on Oahu and the same thing here for any tourist heavy location. Waikiki is so empty and so many of the shops are closed. :(
Since I'm lucky to have a job along with my GF we have been eating out a lot whenever we have time to support our local shops. I'm glad to see you grabbing a couple of drinks.
I just want things to be normal again. Everything looks like ghost towns. Many people lose their stores, sad times.
Yay :) I always enjoy your travel videos. The public transportation in Japan look so comfy and clean. Happy travels! ❤
I am impressed by how clean Japan's environs are. Even remote locations in nature seem to be so pristine with no littering to be seen.
Lauren E That's because Japanese have been taught from young to respect their country as well as they recycle more than 70% of their trash and incinerate the rest!
You stay safe and happy, too, Shinichi! Thank you for the monorail trip.
I remember riding on this monorail when I stayed at tennozu isle at daichi hotel this brings back memories ty
Congratulations for racing past 100K subscribers on this channel!! Such a testament to the quality of the videos, the content, the hard work that goes into each one 😁
We took it all the way to Tokyo station at 10 p.m on our first trip to Japan. We were so worried we had gotten on the wrong train!
Aloha from Hawai’i!
I wish the states were more like Japan
Japan is like America they both are capitalist and free market the only difference is history and culture
I’m American and I confirm America is ew. (I am actually American)
New york has the density like japan. Definitely not as nice tho lol
Unfortunately most Americans like the quality life of the suburbs. Just look at the influx of people moving to down south. It's pretty much just space, roads and parking lots. lol
Killa Pickle Pirate Panda Why? Have you been to every state in America to actually see how life is lived in each state? If you like Japan a lot more, start a new life there. Not being rude, just saying that you must think the U.S. has nothing to offer, no beautiful sceneries, no beautiful nature, no good people, no cleanliness, like all of the U.S. every state, in your mind, must be just terrible. But why do so many people want to leave their own country and move to the states? Especially California or New York. Do you think our streets are filthy? People are rude? Just all kinds of bad in the states? I sure wouldn’t want the states to be like any other country. Every country isn’t perfect, you’re just seeing videos for a short moment and not seeing how life really is in Japan. I know the Japanese people are polite, well mannered, good people. Just like we do have around here in the states, we do have perfectly beautiful places to see, we have trains too! I have traveled a lot around the U.S. and been to several stares and I’m in awe of the gorgeous surroundings and the most kindest people I’ve met, the hospitality and even inviting me back for a longer visit. We do take pride in our neighborhoods and cities. It’s sad when I have seen a few of these videos of Japan or any other country and an American says, “I wish my country looked like your country”! And yet those Americans have never set foot out of there own city or state! If you’re ashamed of the U.S., start a new life and be happy where you rather be at. I’m sure the states will miss you, though! 😉
My day is made so much better when this channel has a new video. One of the best travel channels on UA-cam.
I could play this video in repeated mode for BG sound when working at home. This one feels way more comfortable than most other BG sounds.
Wow so empty but I kind of expected it! Thanks for sharing! 👍🏼😎 Please stay safe and healthy! 🙏🏽💜
Wow, Haneda looks like the airport in Stephen Kings "Langoliers" 👻
Exactly!
This brings back so many memories of when my friends and I took the train into Tokyo from Haneda and were blown away by all of the streets and buildings and just how different it was from the US. I can't wait to be able to go back.
thank you for bringing back memories of my last trip
Thank for you for sharing. I am hoping to visit Tokyo in Summer 2021. Nice to see how easy it is to ride the monorail to Haneda Airport.
-John W.
Thank you for showing everyone a different perspective on how transportation is like on the other side of the world.
Love riding the monorail to Hanada. It feels so sci-fi!
The reverse video have likely been the first impressions for many viewers here that have arrived in Japan through Haneda. I remember the crowding at both the terminal and the train, but fascinated by the views, sounds, and details of and around the train. I eagerly wait for a safe time until we can revisit Japan - We would have flown to Narita starting next week for a long trip to Japan. Your videos here and on your other channels are making its cancellation more bearable even though its very eerie to see an airport as empty as this! Thank you so much for your efforts.
Always I love your videos.. 😊
Thanks for all the great videos always enjoy watching. 👍🏻😁
My wife and I stayed in a hotel on Tennozu Isle last year, so we rode the monorail pretty much every day - mostly to Hamamatsuchou.
Thanks 😊 This brings back really good memories. I've stayed at hotel JAL City in Haneda twice before and used to catch the monorail to town every morning and back in the evening. The views are great. Can't wait to go back! Maybe 2021
Man, this ride feels totally different compare to my ride back in November (it was packed back in November), especially the shops at Haneda. Thanks for reminding my trip last year, stay safe and hopefully people can visit/fly soon (safely of course)
It glides as softly as a cloud.
It gets quite bumpy at some places
Love your videos. The content is so great and inspiring to travel more.
I miss Japan so much! Can't wait to visit again one day! Thanks for sharing these videos, they make me feel all warm inside! :)
How good is Japan technology, I want to go Japan 🇯🇵👌🗾
Yeah thats true I live in Germany and I thought that the Technology in Germany is pretty good but in Japan thats such a huge different
Wow ..the only time i have ever seen an airport that empty was when i landed from a red eye from Vancouver B.C. to Ottawa ON the airport was practically empty at 6:30 am :) to see it like that now is very sureal. Thank you for the video :) :)
I really enjoyed this video. The view from the Monorail was great. I can't wait until I'm able to visit Japan.
Love to watch the video related to Japan!
Remember riding it in 2019, it was a bit like a roller coaster when it curved and leaned to one side while we where above a river. Felt like it would fall down lol
I loved the monorail trip very enjoyable. Loved the views! What a beautiful airport. Such a shame that mostly everything was closed. Thanks for posting.
ah! thank you for this video, its wonderful!
the city looks amazing, the view from the train looks so beautiful and fantastic, i wish i could be in japan its satisfying views and foods.
keep going with your videos, i missed this kind of videos of you :)
Its amazing that whenever they announce projects, it will always be made
I love monorails! Traveled on the Tama one several times. It made the conference commute and a visit to the zoo more special :). Stay safe and happy too!
Great views, loved this one!
The airport is so empty...
Anyway, I like to travel by train. I find the rocking of the wagons and the sound of the tracks so relaxing. :)
I closed my eyes and listened to the sounds of the train. It felt like I was a actually there. The airport looked deserted but that's to be expected right now.
I love the signage on the floor of the station. Reassurance signage so you know you are heading in the right direction. Seems like Japan does those little things to make it easier for travelers.
Greetings from Canada!
Nice video! The train and station are so clean. 👍
And I heard Chineses on the announcement. Thank you for sharing!
Been there, miss that now
Loved the convenience of the monorail. The last time I rode it was just after the craziness of hurricane/earthquake Hagibus (I think that what it was called).
3:55 Chinese announcement telling you what kind of car this is and where you put your stuff; great video as always shinichi! looked very comfy
Cool Hamamatsucho Station. I think I have been there in transit.
Increíble!!!
I rode the monorail for the first time when I went to Tokyo for a few days back in December 2019. I expected something a little different from the trains but was pleasantly surprised it's how it is. Crowded, but not to the point that you wouldn't be able to sit somewhere during most times of the day (before the pandemic). So absurdly useful for anyone staying at the Royal Park Hotel in Haneda airport or just looking to kill time between flights. For people like me that can't handle long flights very well and need rest often, that hotel is a lifesaver. Haneda airport itself is with all the shops and restaurants too. Wish it was so empty when I was there, but it's also sad to see all those places closed as a result. Rather they be open and thriving. :(
I always arrive at Narita so I've never been to Haneda. Sad seeing the airport almost deserted. Hope they open up tourism again soon.
whoa the airport its soo calm, this feels weird but convenient
Haneda being that deserted is the stuff of nightmare fuel. Like 5 Nights at Freddy creepy. I get reoccurring nightmares of wandering huge spaces like that.
Is all of Haneda that quiet, or just the time you visited? I watch a live stream of arrivals/departures on Sundays. Planes leaving fairly regularly (Domestic). Guessing more people then?
Love your vids💕
Omg feels like flying🤯
toujours propre et bien indiques les trains japonnais. Merci pour le travil et de le partager. Amicalement de France.
So sad to see all of those shops closed. We go every year to a lot of those shops waiting for our flight. 😢
Another lovely video. I really enjoyed the “virtual ride” on the monorail.
Loved how you let us just relax and watch all the scenery roll by....it was almost like being there with you.
Happy to hear you’ll be traveling again (domestically) soon. Just be safe on your travels. ✌️❤️😊
I take a brief look at the matcha dessert price, at the same price (630) you'll get a main course in my city hahaha.
Good content, subbed.
Love this video, beautiful views of the Tokyo scenery, I love the river, it looks so calm , I just have to ask both of you a question, when you are travelling around Japan do you get recognized by people in the street? There must be thousands of Japanese people as well as viewers from around the world who would know who you are
Stunning, excellent!!!!!!!!!!!! :D
I spotted Satoshi!!!
I win 😁😆
The drinks look good👍
very beautiful !
Very much looking forward to your domestic flight !!!!!!
Amazing 😍
Pyongyang’s airport looks like that all the time, even without a pandemic.
wow~i am so enjoy to watch that.. ^^
Shinichi-san, have you heard of the virtual tours in Japan? H.I.S. Among others do virtual domestic and international tours. My wife told me they send a meal and omiyage to you and you enjoy the meal with the group (or the tour guide). And i think you can buy other gifts from the place you “visit”. It is only done in Japan so i can’t do it but it sounds interesting. Maybe you can get sponsored by The tour company. Anyways, love your videos!
fantastic video
Always mesmerize .. hopefully indonesia have too great monorail like that 🇮🇩👍❤️🚝🚃🚃🚃🚃
I’m a realtor in Hawaii and looooove the japan rail system. Have you heard how TERRIBLE HAWAII’S Rail System is? It made national news on how long it’s taking to complete and outrageously EXPENSIVE it is. 😖
@@kenchen6565 lol I am American born Japanese. Sure, subscribe to my UA-cam channel. I have my social media handles there. 🤙🏻
Stay safe and stay happy S & S!!!
Thanks. Because of the coronavirus, this is the only way to travel these days: watching videos on UA-cam.
I like very much your videos
Hey bud, great video as always :) What is the total duration from Hamamatsucho Station to Haneda Airport?
جميله جدا طوكيو 😍❤️
wow beautiful tokyo. top developed city in world
Me and my sister were going to visit Japan but it is closed to foreigners at the moment maybe that is why it is so quiet :(
Thank you for taking us to Haneda Airport with you. I like the architecture they use in the airport. I saw that most of the flights were cancelled. Do you know if they were cancelled because there were no passengers booked on those flights? Or were they cancelled for another reason? Stay safe and in good health!
Lot B of the flights are cancelled due to no customers
I'm so sad to see that travel is so desolate. This is everywhere in the world now... Thank you for sharing your experiences.
Super 👍
Stay safe
Damn, you do it only with phone right ?? All these peacefull video of japan only using phone and hand without gimbal ... really cool
It was like your own private airport, so empty.
👍✌
Nice video
I wonder if u go with a family or friends of 4 will it be cheaper still by train? Or taxi will be better?
一度も乗った事がないです〜😣
I would love to visit Japan. My only worry is the availability of affordable vegan food options, especially in Hokkaido.
This is a great option if you travel light...otherwise commute from station to station with 2 big suitcase and often you can’t find elevator (lift if you,re from UK), it,s not fun...
There are many videos here in UA-cam saying the Monorail is a bad idea. However this particular Monorail was built in 1964, 56 years ago and still running a lot better than the battery power little pink rabbit . I really don`t think that the Monorail is a bad idea to be honest, this video just proof it. Some people just upload any video and say anything just for the heck of it. All this guys need to see this video before they open their big mouth.
So empty ;; I think Narita back in March was worse because there’s so much open space already. Felt like a ghost town after getting off the NEX
Is the monorail expensive? When flying domestic keep safe. I've seen some people even wearing the body PPE. Something to think about 🤔
Not expensive at all
I'm sorry to break in, but compared to the normal trains it does cost a bit more. The good view makes up for the price difference though!
@@IWillAlwaysTravelforFood I just checked the fare table. The maximum fare is 500 yen for and adult or 492 yen if you use a smart card. Yes it’s not expensive. Much cheaper than fares to Narita airport, although that is further away from the centre of Tokyo. My last bus trip from Shinjuku to Narita airport cost around 3000 yen.
@@DJAYPAZ Yep but I think the keikyu line to Shinagawa is cheaper
Thank god this pandemic is long over!! I hope we never have another one. Take care everyone!
