    Our family started out in 1972 with a steury pop up camper. No roof air in those days. We didn't need it in northern ontario. One year it was snowing on the fourth of July. Fun fun.

    Thank you for the thorough, detailed videos!! They are very well explained! I'd like to add, In a pinch (like someone camping right now, getting tired of changing towels or tripping over a bucket), you can take something flexible, yet firm, like a zip tie and bend it up into the mounting plate drain hole (shown @3:55) and into the weep hole to clear an obstruction. Hope this helps!

    My AC looked just like yours inside. I pulled out the drip tray after your instructions and mine was super nasty and clogged up. I cleaned it and widened the small drain holes a little and I have no more leaking inside now. Thank you so much for this video!

    This is going to be so helpful! My roof lining began to sag something fierce around the AC. Between this video and your gasket replacement video (and the new parts on your website), I'm hoping to cure my woes. Here's to hoping there isn't too much damage in the ceiling from all the nasty brown water that's been trapped in there.

      You've got this Rojoloco! After you get it fixed, periodically check the mounting bolts to make sure they stay snug and continue to compress the gasket.

    Thank you for the detailed vid, I thought I had a soft spot in my ceiling, with closer inspection, i noticed it was water collecting in my ceiling(on the right side of a.c. unit), I could not figure out how water was getting in there. I was able to squeeze the water out,but Unfortunately now part of my ceiling vinyl is sagging a bit due to the weight of the water, oh well, at least I can keep it from getting worse. I'm definitely going to check the drip tray this weekend, I think you found what my issue is...thank you so much. You are awesome!😎👍

    Great video! My wife and I have had our 2004 Santa Fe since 2005, and this year was the first time I cleaned the AC coils (I know, way overdue), and while I was in there, also cleaned out the drain holes and then removed the wasp nests. Any chance on having a instructional video on renewing the waterproofing on the canvas, especially the tent ends? The cost of recanvasing is rather high, and with extraordinarily long wait times, it makes sense to extend the life as much as possible.

      Nice work on the AC service Stan! Most manufactures recommend yearly waterproofing for maximum longevity. Look for videos covering this question and more coming soon!

    Hi, great video. Quick question. I will be changing the gasket soon. If I plan on cleaning out the drip pan, will I still need to disassemble the A/C unit? Since I will have it lifted off the roof can I access it from the bottom?

    • @popupcamperpro
      @popupcamperpro  Рік тому

      Likely yes. All AC units were installed after the sale on Coleman’s, so styles vary. you may get lucky. Thanks for watching and writing!

    We have a 2009 Coleman E3. Recently the AC unit has started tripping out the 15 amp breaker on both Low AC and High AC. If I turn back the temperature a bit it will run longer but eventually will trip out again. If you leave it off for a few minutes and reset the breaker it will start up and run but after a while will trip again. It get's plenty cold. It's a Coleman Mach AC unit. Ceiling Assembly say model 9330E715. Not sure if that is for the AC unit or the ceiling mounting assembly. Ideas on what might be making the unit trip out?

    • @popupcamperpro
      @popupcamperpro  3 місяці тому

      Not enough amps. You need minimum 20 amps, ideally 30 amps to run a rooftop AC.

    Thanks for the great video instructions unfortunately I have a Carrier AC and when I took off my cover to look for the drain it has plastic housing. The plastic is getting brittle from age and I’m hesitant about destroying something while removing the housing and the coils seem to be stuck in the housing as I carefully lifted one side. Checking the manual on line it wasn’t all that helpful. Does my unit even a drain pan like you showed in the Coleman unit.

      It should. Check under the core for the drip pan.

    I haven’t check my tray yet, but I am getting water inside while running. My roof has a sag on the bag side of the A/C because when it was installed they only put a brace on the front side of the A/C. When I put my camper down there is always a big puddle on the roof. Do you think it’s possible there is enough sag in my roof that once the sag fills with water it isn’t allowing it to drain? I am gonna check the tray but if the tray wasn’t draining I wouldn’t be getting water on my roof right?

    I have a carrier and plan on cleaning the drip pan and condenser out. The AC unit makes a popping/crackling noise on and off for periods of time. I shined a light inside while it's running and looks like a lot of moisture build up. My question is would a good cleaning of the unit solve or help this problem? (AC unit is on low and blows cold air as it should. Just worried about the noise)

    • @popupcamperpro
      @popupcamperpro  2 роки тому

      Not sure what this could be Dale. Popping and cracking noises are typically bad, especially for electric motors and compressors. The condensation is normal, but not the noises. It may need replaced soon. Make sure that your not running in on 15AMP service as well. Needs ideally 30AMP.

    Before heading to Fla in March. I would like to put a soft start on my A/c and service drains.
    Question I have a Somerset E3 bought used.I
    What is the weight limit getting on the roof? thanks

    • @popupcamperpro
      @popupcamperpro  2 роки тому

      Strong roofs can support a large person. I myself at 245 climb onto them. You can place wide boards across the roof to distribute your weight too. Do this if you are concerned about the integrity, or denting the roof.

    Thanks for the great information as always!
    I had a quick question, my AC blows cold but the air inside the camper starts strong then quickly slows down after a couple seconds.
    Do you sell the motor that powers the condenser fan and the squirrel cage in the coleman? I'm trying to find fan motors for it to fix the issue.

      Common problems for an AC not starting are not enough amperage, and failed start capacitors.
