The thing is... in most Predator movies we see Youngbloods, Predators who have yet to complete their first real hunt. That's the reason why they make these mistakes. There is a lot of comic book Predator world stuff that Dark Horse comics did back in the 90s. The AvP and AvP 2 comic stories are worth checking out for sure.
Sooo happy y’all are watching this soooo many ppl hated before this movie came out and then this movie turned out to be great I loved it in my opinion watched multiple times! Was hype when seen u all posted this!!!
I love the predator franchise & btw aliens vs predator was really good. Even the second one I enjoyed, was a interesting movie when they switched the story from the usual predator hunting a human. Y’all should for sure watch them
It has to earn its weapons upgrades If it survives.. I absolutely love this movie ..close to movie of the year for me , should've been a theatrical release my only problem is some of the CGI for the animals could've been done better but that's budget Constraints...
its funny Chris mentioned the Predators giving [Character from a predator movie] a trophy, because the one hes referring to is the EXACT pistol she actually gets from the french hunter in this movie haha
I remember reading a 2 part novel series back in the 90s about a woman who helped one of the predators and was given permission to go to their planet and live among them. The second book really talked a lot about how they work and live. Most of what I know about Predator culture came from that novel. I think the first book was even called Prey.
I'm so glad you guys are reacting to this, I even tweeted at you guys to react to this and now here you are reacting YES!!! This was a good movie 🎥 to me and I'm not even into movies like this.
I love the predator movies, because the Predators are such a cool alien species to me. How they are all just trophy hunters, and they have a code that they all follow. You can really see it in this movie, seeing as how the Predator only hunts other predators, and only uses tools/weapons equal with what he is hunting. They even have a code of honor, such as when he left her alone after she stepped in the trap. If I remember correctly, in the other movies they only kill things/people that are openly threatening them, so if you show that you aren't a threat or aren't worth hunting, they leave you alone. And on another note, I hope the positive reception of this movie really inspires them to make more like it. Like you guys were saying, just more stories of the Predators coming throughout different points/settings in history. I saw that same idea, I think on twitter, about the Ronin/Samurai setting. More like this would be great.
If any of you didn't see the original then you should definitely watch the first Predator on the channel. Hell, I'd watch a Predator 2 and Predators reaction. You can skip The Predator but this one was such a great addition
"If it bleeds it can die" is an actual saying , but got famous from Conan The Barbarian in the original comics. Some variation of it has been said in other movies and books etc.
I always imagined in this movie that the Predator is doing a "becoming a man" ritual, like he just became of age in their society so he has to land on a planet and kill every predator until hes the apex before he can return home
This was a fun reaction! Great job and the conversation you guys had afterwards was awesome. It's nice to see that some people actually know this is basically how we lived back then aside from the predator lol
Take into consideration the Predator also was shot in the back of the head, when he was trying to kill Naru he might not have been thinking clearly enough to even consider his mask.
9:45 When I saw this scene, I remembered at that moment, this movie is technically a Disney movie now. So glad they allowed this franchise to be mature 🙏🏽
When they were talking about orange tutsia the yt captions said orange tortilla and that just made me giggle. It was such a fun reaction! I loved all the callbacks in this to the original Predator!
I'm guessing none of you guys seen Predator 2. Totally missed the call back to the gun given to the Chief at the end. That is the same gun give to Danny Glovers character in P2...
When predator went invisible fighting the brother i tought "what a bitch". But to be fair, even the guy being an excellent fighter, predator was just fighting "hand to hand", if he really wanted, he could kill the brother. And also the convenience of the mask shooting at the tree. But props to the natives for the strategy fighting in all the scenes. Im obssessed with alien/predator worlds and its good to finaly have a good movie after almost a decade since predators.
you mentioned that in one of the other predator movies the man was given a gift from the predators for defeating a predator one on one, do you remember what that gift was?
My favorite part of this entire movie is when Taabe calls the Predator a cheater in Comanche when it cloaks itself after getting its ass whooped. Glad someone finally called out the Predators bullshit fail safe for whenever they’re losing.
It's funny how Chris mentions that the trophy that the Predators give back to Danny Glover's character in Predator 2, but fails to realize it's the same gun Naru has at the end of Prey. I think it might just be an easter egg rather than a canon thing, though.
It has probably been mentioned somewhere, but the Predators don't hunt for meat, at least in these movies, they hunt for sport. They take the skull of their defeated Prey as a trophy, that's why he takes the Wolf skull, and in other movies you see things like Alien skulls etc on a trophy wall. The gun she hands to the chief at the end, is the gun Danny Glover is given by the Predator chief in Predator 2. Great reaction, thanks! :)
As much as I liked this movie, I don't think the audio guys have ever heard what a Mountain Lion sounds like, because they aren't capable of roaring. I was so confused in that scene.
yeah, and eagles don't have that iconic screetch, they just dub in a red tailed hawk. Just a movie/media thing, tho I do wish they kept it accurate so people are a bit less misinformed
That happens so much with audio in tv and movies. There's an expectation set up by old mistakes. Eagle shrieks, lion roars, sword "schwing" noise on unsheathing, movie guns are super noisy and rattle when you shake them, hospital EKG or Heart Monitor beeps and Respirators that either aren't in that room or don't make those sounds at all, etc
@@DJKuroh haha yeah. When I first heard they were hunting "a lion" I was like, there are no lions in North America. But then they gave a mountain lion/puma/cougar an African lion roar.

I've done that same move. Threw one of those traps (which are illegal in my state to begin with) at a A-hole that had been setting them up on a hiking trail as well as abandoning them. Only difference was I nailed it in the arm and not the head like I was aiming for. I just left the SOB in the middle of the woods to fend for itself the way it had to several deer and a coyote.
I love that they didn't fridge the dog or the village. I love that the Predator meets each of its Prey with a matching level of weaponry. And I love that you picked up so early on that Mankind is the worse predator so early on! There are some great interviews here on youtube with the filmmakers you would enjoy!
AND OMG Amber Midthunder just had a cameo on Reservation Dogs, and this badass warrior is also a hilarious comedian. Her character has so many layers of funny in it. If the Normies haven't watched RD, you need to. It is a gem of writing and acting and representation.
Fun fact: The Comanche were part of the Shoshone tribe before splitting off on their own. Also, the Comanche and the various other Shoshone languages are all part of the Uto-Aztecan language
I also thought the predator was a bit cheap... but looking into their lore and how they prove themselves through hunting and gain better gear once they have proven themselves. They earned the right to use camo so they god damn use it.
20:30 Predator: Hunting Grounds is the game you are looking for. It is similar to Dead by Daylight, but one player is the Predator while the others play as a fireteam of 4 soldiers. Both parties have customizable loudouts. The soldiers have to fulfill missions and extract or kill Predator to win, while the Predator has to kill all of them to win. There is a lot of gameplay on UA-cam so you can check it out.
You guys see you were featured in the Arcane docuseries Bridging the Rift? Near the start in the final episode, you can find it on youtube Thought it was pretty neat :)
Don't recall it being mentioned, but the pistol Naru kept is the same one gifted to Mike Harrigan, Danny Glover's character from Predator 2, after he killed the Predator.
This movie made me realize what we've been missing: We *rarely* have any positive Native representation in movies. Yo, Hollywood, there's more races out there than black and white! Also fun fact: This movie has a Comanche dub. You never see stuff like that.
Predators are big game hunters. They use camo as the human hunters do against animals, use weapons technology way more advanced. They try to get the prey which will give them the best hunting story with their peers, be the prey badass or the story of getting it making you a badass.
@The Normies, 38:22 That's EXACTLY what it's like. Think Theodore Roosevelt--they hunt game for sport! The Predator didn't want Naru once the bear trap had her, it wants to hunt. That scene reminded me of the story that gave us Teddy bears--while on a hunt, a bear was tied to a tree for the former President to kill and he wasn't pleased with that. He untied it and freed it as it wouldn't have been sportsman like to kill chained prey. The Predators are like a bunch of colonial European men going to new territories hunting game. They aren't killing for food but sport. And like the gamesmen of ol' the Predators take trophies too. Europeans practiced taxidermy. Perdators collect skulls and vertebrae. The end credits was a post credit scene--it recapped the movie. The last picture was the group of ships returning. My guess is this was the first time a Predator came to Earth. And the defeat of one of their own was a sign that Earth has formidable game, which is why they keep coming back. I hope we get a sequel of some sort to this, but in this time period. I would love to see Predators in Asia, Japan to be exact in the 1700s and Africa during the slave trade. I'd like to these stories told through the eyes of a feudal lord and a captured African respectively. I wish you had some of ladies with you, would have loved seeing their reaction to the female lead. Oh! The gun Naru was gifted is the same gun Danny Glover's character was gifted at the end of Predator 2!
The guy that hasn't watched the first one got the line right away lol. "If it bleeds we can kill it" . Man yall missed the Easter egg with the pistol at the end, its the one given to Danny Glover character in the 2nd movie.
When the French fella gave her the gun, that “gun” is from predator 2. The scene where the alpha predator gives Danny glover the same gun for defeating the predator.
That's one of my fav things. How she learned through all the encounters with the predator. My only complaint about the movie is how in the end it all went too according to plan. Like her plan pretty much went without a hitch. And about predator cheating. Hes not really. He probably doesn't know what he'll encounter on this planet, so he just came prepared and hes using whatever he has at his disposal and expects for his prey to use whatever they have. Plus he took out a whole group of armed men without the camo so not like hes not capable, its just normal to him to use that tech. If there was an entity with superior tech to his here, he'd probably still fight it since its the top of the food chain. And I'm glad they did that scene. Wanted to see a predator fight in all its glory in daylight. xD Plus he has shitty vision, especially without the mask if you recall the first movie. Probably why it didn't notice the mask too and a lot of other things near the end. And yes Suraj watch the first movie. Dahell man. D:
The end game of her plan worked. But I don't think part of her plan was to almost get her head cut off by the shield. The rock save and the tusk stab were improvised.
9:29 yeah I think in Predators or maybe AVP there's a mention of them being put in these places to learn how to fight and hunt so it definitely is learning and I think that's why even tho Predator is very OP lmao, the wolf and people are still able to inflict a good amount of damage
What Taabe yells out in his native language is him calling the Predator a cheater when the predator cloaks as soon as it starts losing the fight.

*whispers*
"Yo that wasn't even necessary" 🤣
YES!!
I LOVE THIS MOVIE!!!
They premiered the film at San Diego Comic Con and the audience loved it! They gave it a 10 minute standing ovation!
I saw this on Hulu and it's pretty impressive. I gave it 8/10.
There will be more Predator Prequel films soon.
The predator was like “when you don’t realize blue tooth was connected”
There is a lot of comic book Predator world stuff that Dark Horse comics did back in the 90s. The AvP and AvP 2 comic stories are worth checking out for sure.
The novelizations for those are great, too!
fun fact. the woman that made the soundtracks for modern warfare 2019, also made score for this movie.
Y’all should for sure watch them
dog that plays Sarii is a rescue dog named Coco.
on the list of best dog companions in film.
Is it true that Coco was not a properly trained film dog? If true, that just makes all of those sequences with the dog more impressive to me.
If Feral Predator can defeat fully grown Bear, then Wolf will demolish that Bear with ease.
It has to earn its weapons upgrades If it survives.. I absolutely love this movie ..close to movie of the year for me , should've been a theatrical release my only problem is some of the CGI for the animals could've been done better but that's budget Constraints...
This is the best, if not one of, movie reaction I've watched in a while. Genuine interest in the movie, no overreactions and bs. Subscribed.
its funny Chris mentioned the Predators giving [Character from a predator movie] a trophy, because the one hes referring to is the EXACT pistol she actually gets from the french hunter in this movie haha
Ohhh shit !?
I remember reading a 2 part novel series back in the 90s about a woman who helped one of the predators and was given permission to go to their planet and live among them. The second book really talked a lot about how they work and live.
Most of what I know about Predator culture came from that novel.
I think the first book was even called Prey.
No technology can defeat the wonders of plot armor
I been waiting for this reaction since the movie came out, I really enjoyed the hell out of this movie I wish they release it in theaters again
Some variation of it has been said in other movies and books etc.
damn how cool is chris's mom? predator AND demolition man??? great taste in movies!
14:16 The Predator turned into Mystikal
"HELP THE BEAR!!!"🐻
When predator went invisible fighting the brother i tought "what a bitch". But to be fair, even the guy being an excellent fighter, predator was just fighting "hand to hand", if he really wanted, he could kill the brother. And also the convenience of the mask shooting at the tree. But props to the natives for the strategy fighting in all the scenes. Im obssessed with alien/predator worlds and its good to finaly have a good movie after almost a decade since predators.
Thank you for the retro Orioles logo! Never seen anyone but myself have that on a shirt
you mentioned that in one of the other predator movies the man was given a gift from the predators for defeating a predator one on one, do you remember what that gift was?
My favorite part of this entire movie is when Taabe calls the Predator a cheater in Comanche when it cloaks itself after getting its ass whooped. Glad someone finally called out the Predators bullshit fail safe for whenever they’re losing.
It's funny how Chris mentions that the trophy that the Predators give back to Danny Glover's character in Predator 2, but fails to realize it's the same gun Naru has at the end of Prey. I think it might just be an easter egg rather than a canon thing, though.
Glad you loved this film as much as I did! 💖
@19:50 - Like how the one guy who hasn't seen it is the one who recognizes a call-back.
Eagle shrieks, lion roars, sword "schwing" noise on unsheathing, movie guns are super noisy and rattle when you shake them, hospital EKG or Heart Monitor beeps and Respirators that either aren't in that room or don't make those sounds at all, etc
are yall animal experts now?? yall shouldve helped with the movie then
@@DJKuroh haha yeah. When I first heard they were hunting "a lion" I was like, there are no lions in North America. But then they gave a mountain lion/puma/cougar an African lion roar.
@@Say0nn. I'm more of an animal expert than you are an expert on how to use punctuation.
IMO - best predator movie
Thanks for reacting to this movie. It's my favorite of all the Predator movies. I did see on UA-cam there was a medieval Predator. I don't know if it's fan-made or a preview. I'm going to have to watch it. If it is a movie, I hope you all watch it and react to it. Thanks again and have a good day.
I compiled all the Alien and Predator movies then based on the years they take place put them in order. I couldnt find a list that did both Alien and Predator so here it is. The date before the title is when the movie too place. The date in parenthesis is when the movie came out.
1719 Prey (2022)
1987 Predator (1987)
1997 Predator 2 (1990)
2004 AVP: Alien vs Predator (2004)
2004 AVPR: Alien vs Predator - Requiem (2007)
2010 Predators (2010)
2018 The Predator (2018)
2089-2093 Prometheus (2012)
2104 Alien: Covenant (2017)
2122 Alien (1979)
2179 Aliens (1986)
2179 Alien 3 (1992)
2318 Alien: Resurrection (1997)
And you were all a deligjt to watch react to this. 🙏😊😄🥰👏👏👏
AND OMG Amber Midthunder just had a cameo on Reservation Dogs, and this badass warrior is also a hilarious comedian. Her character has so many layers of funny in it. If the Normies haven't watched RD, you need to. It is a gem of writing and acting and representation.
The pistol is the same pistol given to Danny Glover at the end of Predator 2.... luv the continuity they kept tied to the previous movies 🤙🏽🌊
Fun fact: The Comanche were part of the Shoshone tribe before splitting off on their own. Also, the Comanche and the various other Shoshone languages are all part of the Uto-Aztecan language
Surprised nobody picked up on the gun is the one in Predators they give to Danny Glover
Predator 2 my bad
39:35 Chris that trophy they left was the same gun in Prey. A nice easter egg
"Yo that wasn't even necessary"😂🙌🏼😂
Y'all are hella funny! "Glow in the dark paint"... You mean the Predator's blood ? LOL
Predators is by far my favorite of the series.
You guys see you were featured in the Arcane docuseries Bridging the Rift? Near the start in the final episode, you can find it on youtube
Thought it was pretty neat :)
Don't recall it being mentioned, but the pistol Naru kept is the same one gifted to Mike Harrigan, Danny Glover's character from Predator 2, after he killed the Predator.
This movie made me realize what we've been missing:
We *rarely* have any positive Native representation in movies. Yo, Hollywood, there's more races out there than black and white!
Also fun fact:
This movie has a Comanche dub. You never see stuff like that.
There's literally a game where you can be the Predator. Lol
Predators are big game hunters. They use camo as the human hunters do against animals, use weapons technology way more advanced. They try to get the prey which will give them the best hunting story with their peers, be the prey badass or the story of getting it making you a badass.
25:08 After the predator becomes invisible, what Taabe screams can be translated to "Cheater"
@The Normies,
38:22 That's EXACTLY what it's like.
Holy shit you are the only people who figured out how his bolt gun worked damn a lot of other people didn't figure that out or complained about it.
Predator weapons and tech evolve depending on where they hunt and who.
Wanted to see a predator fight in all its glory in daylight. xD
Plus he has shitty vision, especially without the mask if you recall the first movie.
