As a former avid polka dancer it's sad but true polka dancing has died here in the northwest part of America. The younger crowd are not interested...takes too much effort don't you know.
What part of Las Vegas have you been to? This doesn't sound like any Las Vegas Music, I have ever heard. Sounds more like a band playing polkas and waltzes, one who is definitely high energy. Never been to one of his shows, but, I'd like to.
Wouldn't be caught dead at one of Sturr's shows. I won't support someone, that I believe, killed the polka music Grammy award. According to my late dad, who was on the NARAS voting committee, it was all political. Nobody ever had a chance to win with Sturr winning all of the time.
some more sturr gossip - jimmy plays the german heritage festival in my hometown every year, but once he refused to play because another band won that year's polka grammy and were playing said festival too. i've also heard he won't ride in the same car with his band and has lived with his mom his entire life. but i'll be goddamned if the guy and his band don't have a good tight sound! headscratching
What is with Sturr when he goes on the road. ????? If I wanted to listen to Las Vegas type music I would go to Las Vegas! What a disappointment! If he wan't to be relevant he is on the wrong track!
