Great job. I have a question. I live in the U.S. and own a 2008 with the 2.7L gas engine that needs to be replaced. How hard do you think it would be to pull without a lift to work under? The 2.7L engine isn't as common outside the U.S. but I imagine it's similar to other V6 engines.
Yeah, it's easy enogh to replace engine without lifter. You can disasseble car's front and pull the engine out. I mean remove radiators, front panel and bumper. I think the biggest complexity you can meet is an exhaust pipes rotten bolts.
I only need to replace the seal at marker 1:40. So with nothing unbolted, is it correct to just use a pry bar to remove the axle from differential before removing the 5 bolts from differential so the the seal can be pulled out and replaced? So, it’s possible to replace the seal without taking out the differential? I also think that for 2013, grand Vitara there is a slightly different seal part number.
My rear differential has been leaking but has continued to work well. Do you think the seal is the issues? Could it be something else or should I just replace the seal?
It's important to check the corrosion on the drive shafts first. It could be useless to replace just seals. Is the seal of center shaft, (that attaches to propshaft) is dry?
Hello, usually I don't use any special tool for a work like this. And if to speak about this particular diff, second drive shaft is just clicks inside on a snap ring, and there is no problem to pull it out
hello my friend i just got old one out. i know why you seal plate is missing. while turning bolt it snapped seal plate. well i have to ask can i put differential back then put axle shafts in or do i jave to slide the left slip axle in first? i got jack stands under arm maybe that why i couldnt get axle out until i dropped differential. ..tia

If you can hear no humming or vibration. If it drives good on snow and mud, and no transmission check lamps on dashboard, then everything is fine
it is good if you disassemble the old differential to see the real reason why it is jammed.
Unfortunatelly, the client took the old part, i also was curious about what was broken

Yes, it will be more easy to slide left shaft first, while installing the diff
