Can’t live in fear non-stop. We keep it secure when not around, it is mainly for convenience when we are home so he can go out and come in as he pleases instead of us getting up every three seconds.
He'll get there. And once he does, he'll be in and out constantly!

I had to gently push/shove/guide my lab through the dog door 2 times before she realized it was for her.... after that she plowed through the thing at full speed from then onward
