I lost my little guy last week. But I save these so someday when I get another dog, I’ll have reference material. I shared with my brother and sister to help with their dogs. When I do get another dog, I’ll definitely be trying to get training with you. You are truly the dog daddy!
I love this!!! You have just outed yourself as the biggest joke & fraud! Forty seconds in was the most truthful part of this video! You should review/watch your own "work!" Great job...now everyone can see what your own people think about you, which reflects what much of the population thinks of you! Great job! 👏
@@AA-ur2tx That was a joke, good friends do that crap. What does anyone care about "much" of the population says when you have hundreds if not thousands of happy customers and a successful social media business on top of that?
I am the neighborhood cat lady and have no dogs but I love this young man and his wonderful interaction with dogs and their family. Amazing training. Blessings! 🙏💕🙏💕
I have 7 cats but I, also, am fascinated by the Dog Daddy’s common sense, rational and loving method of training. His philosophy carries thru his feeding, caring for and housing his animals. I am very glad that he is applying his principles to himself and caring for himself better in his “down” or off-duty time. Very brave to share this vulnerability with his community who admire and support him.
You should consider adopting a dog. There’s a crisis going on right now in shelters, it’s insane. They’re euthanizing healthy PUPPIES after 2 weeks to make space out here in Los Angeles. It’s abhorrently bad. Nearly a million healthy dogs were euthanized last year in animal shelters across the US. You could even try fostering, they’re always looking for fosters and that way, there’s no pressure. If you do fall in love, you can still adopt them.
@SaltNBattery Thanks for your suggestion. I actually house 10 rescued cats and feed feral kitties who live on the property (all felines have been spay or neutered.) Most of the indoor kitties get along but there is the daily skirmish between a few. Though there are households where cats and dogs get along, this is not one. However, my contribution to shelter animals and other rescues is to share videos, make monetary contributions when possible and to pray daily for the needed support from others. Blessings!
Me too, I just "get" cats, but not dogs. Cats are very trainable, too. They're just... different. I trained horses, and I'm a mental health counselor so I've studied different theories of behavior modification. DD is perfect. His timing of corrections and rewards is just perfect. His professionalism is evident in his patience and lack of anger. "We're partners but I'm the senior partner because I know what's best for us. You can resist, but you'll be more comfortable if you don't."
I taught my dogs very reliable recall, but always with treats. It’s very impressive that Dog Daddy is teaching with no treats, just praise. It makes sense, because one of my dogs figured out that she can move away from me and force me to call her, and then she gets a treat. And when I did not have treats with me, she would become less reliable with recall.
My dog is the shepherd mix that was near the fence the big black and cream guy. He has learned that people give treats for come, I don't. Because he is too smart for his own good he now comes to anyone he notices calling a dog just in case he can get some goodies as he has about a 50/50 success rate.
Just adopted a 4 yr old retired stud dog, who has been a kennel dog for most of his life. Never lived in a house. Lots of training. I will use your method for recall. Makes perfect sense. Great video.
Thank you for this. I’ve always made the mistake of going after the dog. Years ago we had a beautiful puppy Chihuahua/Dachshund who took off running when we brought her to a park with a big open field. My daughter looked at me and asked, “How far should I let her run?” I said, “How far do you want to chase her.” We had a good laugh but I see there’s a much better way now.
One of my rehomed dogs got out when someone’s came to the door. My husband chased her for ages. I wasn’t home, but when I got in, he was frustrated as he had chased her for a whole hour. 🤣 It happened again, when she followed one of my boys out to play. This time I was home, so I went out, called her with a happy tone, making her excited to see what was happening. I called her name then ran the opposite way from her, to come back home! She chased me, right into the house - no problem! I realised when she was running, she kept turning around, to make sure she was being followed. This was the game to her. RIP Hollie 💔 She was a beautiful dog, who had bilateral hip dysplasia 😖 separation anxiety along with other complexities. She was a Lab/Collie and the smartest, most beautiful girl. She lived until almost the age of 13, when she developed cancer. 💔 I was so blessed to have her in my life. She would jump on all fours on the big trampoline my boys had! I look forward to the day when I collect her from Rainbow Bridge. 🌈 ❤️🐕🦺
Right now a lot of people are struggling. 4 years ago the money I made I took (inexpensive) vacations now with inflation My dogs are eating better than I am.
So happy 2 see this Lil guy doing so great, thank God you took him in, n took him outta that current situation he was in. Then 4that woman 2 ONLY WANT that pup back cuz he was gonna make her money. Keep up the great work Augusto n thankyou for ALL YOU DO
A while back, one of the dogs we had was a female King Charles Cavalier Spaniel. It was around the holidays and we were expecting company. My husband opened the front door, didn't find anyone there, and closed it. My son ran to me and said that he saw our dog go out the door...my husband did not. I ran outside and by this time she was all the way down the block. I yelled her name and her "come" command. She turned around and came all the way back home. While I was so proud of her for coming back from that distance...she had also been trained not to go out an open door without being on a leash....:( Back to the drawing board for that one. I only like to use treats to train young puppies...treats disappear for the most part pretty quick. Sometimes I will grab a treat to surprise the dog we have now on our walks if I want to throw in some training...but for the most part I want my dogs to obey because they have a bond with me and they know what is expected. I have always preferred praise to treats...
Very excellent! Thx for the great tips! Gonna be doing this! Always walking away! And always practicing recall. I wish more would teach their dogs recall. I cannot tell you how many people can not recall their dogs (usually after harassing my dogs). I feel happy I did the two ball exercise with my Jack Russell many years ago and it does work! Yeah! I did something the right way. LOVE you DD!
I loved this video so much. It shows a calm, effective technique for training the everyday nugget head dog, without aggression issues, tasks without a bunch of food. I'm always amazed by Dog Daddys ways with the hard cases, but seeing him guide the softer ones is also a treat. I learned something new to try with my dog that seems to conveniently tune me out when distracted.
All this is good information, I absolutely appreciate even one small insight that I didn’t have. I have an extremely difficult puppy, he’s been excruciatingly stubborn from the start and although there is progress he still has a bit of unpredictable aggression towards outsiders (even if it’s people who’ve been over before and played with him) this is feeling like my only chance to get his unpredictability under control is to have full control of my pup. It’s been a long, real rough road!
Never did professional, but training dogs I've owned, discovered what you mentioned about waiting with them when they drink or doing their business. Made training easier. Chanel is doing great, and Rolex getting big ! 🐶 Thank you for sharing.💗🐾🌻
Hey Augusto, Michele that went to see you in Toronto about 3 years ago (I'm in a wheelchair) I had to tell you this, you never mentioned my dog's name but after you said come 3 or 4 times she came to my left to heel and I never even looked at her. Guess you ware really a good teacher. Nice to see you posting videos to teach us how to do right with our dogs. Btw, I'm very proud of you and your life changing decision you made a few weeks back. Keep it up Augusto, it looks good on you. 🫶🏻

Got my first Doberman puppy 2 weeks ago, he’s 10 weeks now. He already learned his new name, come, and sit, from your lessons! Tysm for posting these on UA-cam instead of making people pay hundreds a month on virtual lessons.
So nice to see Rolex doing so well & so HAPPY since being with you. God intended you to find that poor puppy because someone with bad intentions could have gotten him. That girl never deserved this beautiful baby. Thank you for keeping him & loving him. You're the best & he's one lucky baby! ❤️
Love, love , love these training sessions The Dog Daddy! So simple and effective! Love how you trained the other dog to drop the ball. Please keep making more of these videos please💜💙💚
I adopted a 2 year old shepherd mix a couple months ago. He was a stray and is very smart and curious. Been trying to build trust and overcome defiance. This is incredibly helpful, thank you. God bless you.
He is so beautiful!! I was so sad after my 11 years old GSD 2 months ago. But my husband told me about an abandoned German Shepherd as well is 14 months old, so we adopted him. Now our family feels complete again. With Gods blessing we are going to have about 10 years to enjoy, and love our beautiful Milo.
God bless this man and protect him from harm as he has so much to offer to not only the world of dogs but humans also. A step towards understanding and healing our relationships to animals as demonstrated in his generous heart and skill. ❤
Thank you for the training tips. All knowledge you give is very important to us. Rolex looks like he is doing great with his training and of course Chanel is beautiful as always. Can't wait to see you in Florida.
Thank you for this video. I learned how to teach my dog the perfect recall AND how to get him to bring the ball back during a game of fetch! Twofer! ✌️
Thank you. My dog slipped out of her collar on a busy street. I realized from this how important recall is. Luckily my dog saw a person and ran over to him and the guy held on to her. It was beyond scary.
Very Helpful content! Not as dramatic as those with you trying to help a dog that was not trained or mistrained unknowingly or not, but much more useful for the average dog owner. You use almost no leash pressure, and it's more just to get their attention than it is a correction for not listening. You develop the desire to come to you rather than fearing correction for not coming. Bravo, my friend. One of your very best videos, IMO. Although it won't get the views that your more dramatic ones will, it should be required viewing for all dog owners. Don't chase the dog. Let the dog chase you and take advantage of his natural prey drive. Bravo.
This is amazing. I’m going to start doing this today. That lady was so lucky to just run into dog daddy like that!? She got a free hands on lesson, and it worked instantly! I was impressed. Lol
Thank you for the amazing lesson! Although I know how to train recall quite well, I just learned about the trick where you ALWAYS walk away from them when they are distracted. Amazing insight, thank you so so much! I must admit, I wasn't impressed at the beginning because you always wear sunglasses and that can stress certain dogs, I now understand you know what you are doing! Respect and love for everything you do for the dogs 🙌❤🐾
Love ya DD you’re a pure heart and thus I pray that you know Jesus!!! You’re a PERFECT example of caring for Gods creatures he placed us in charge over!!!! May God’s blessings bestow you always 😻
🐾This video is unique and different…giving a “new puppy” training perspective is priceless! The love and high energy is infectious!!🥹 Thank you Rolex and thank you DD!!🎉
I absolutely LOVE these types of videos!! Getting to see you interacting with the different dogs in such a fun and relaxed way, yet still teaching us so many tips and tricks is awesome. ❤ Thanks for another great video!!
Wow, that’s going to help me out so much with my female Doberman, she’s been babied a bit too much and right now she’s the boss! And yes when I walk away she’s looking for me and comes with me. I’m not using it to my advantage. 🙌🏻❤️
Terrific teaching tx. I seem to be doing somethings correct,,, a little more work on total recall. He's a 7.5 yo husky that I rescued last February. Doesn't like being left alone, so that makes it easier for recall. Definitely need more work with the ball. Then again, I've not found huskies to be much of a ball dog. Had done the 2 ball trick with my 95yo Dad's young Blue Heeler. Made sense and works. Especially handy since my Dad can't chase her anymore. The guy who had been part time carer for Dad did it the lazy, unhealthy and expensive way by using treats 🙄 (Where Dad shops they don't have healthy treats and its 4hr drive from me).
Really appreciate this pro training. Never used a leash with my girls for training ...just said the command when they were naturally doing something like laying down. And, of course positive reinforcement (Why would anyone hit or yell at a dog when they come on command, even if they were doing something 'bad' before? Crazy!) One of my girls trained ME to toss the ball. The other prefers a little play, then wants to chill. Easiest dogs ever.
Thank you! I will be using these tools to help my girl. You are an amazing young man and you can tell you are passionate about your dogs and dogs in general. ❤️
I can't believe that so far everyone missed the truest subtitles ever written! Just forty seconds (:40) in shows everyone what HIS OWN PEOPLE think about him! And he let it be posted!😂
YOU NEED TO PAY ATTENTION & ACTUALLY READ! Not just drink the cool-aid he's serving. The closed captions at 40 seconds states "when called to please your narcissistic personality." It right on the screen in black & white.
My dog Lucky is 1, and I'm his 3rd owner. He has a lot of fear based actions. I'll take him on his leash and he will get away from me and it's hard to get him back to me. I'm going to try this recall training with him and hopefully he will be able to have free time and learn to come when I call him. Thank you for sharing these videos! I'm learning alot from you, and I'm grateful.
Wendles4186 - There is a 100% Fullproof way to not allow your Dog to get Away from you while on the Leash. You must be willing to Hold On to your Dog no matter what happens 100%. I Hold my leash like this every single time I am with my Dogs for their Safety unless we are in Our Fenced Back Yard or something similar. With untrained Dogs, I have been Pulled to the Ground and I have Suffered some Good Scrapes to my Face and Hands etc but I have NEVER lost my Dog and my Dog's have NEVER Run Off and been Hurt or Worse Killed by a Passing Car Truck or Aggressive Dog. To keep my Dogs Safe, I simply use the Handle of The Leash as a Slip Knot or Slip Loop around my Wrist once causing any Pull from my Dog to Make The Loop Tighter Around my Wrist. The More my Dog Pulls Away, again The Tighter The Loop Gets. Meaning that No Matter how Hard or Fast or Long my Dog Tries to Get Away from me, it will Only Cause me to have that Loop Tighter Around my Wrist. The Message to my Dog is We are Inseparable. Where your Dog goes, you will Follow or Fall. When you Fall, you Automatically STOP your Dog. Unless your Dog can Drag your Dead Fallen Weight, (which I assure you your Dog will not Choose to do that to you if they Like you). Now this may sound Crazy and Hurtful but I Promise you you may get Hurt a few times it's true because I've been hurt more than a few times (I've been doing this for Decades) however, never have I lost a Dog since I have been doing this. Eventually, dependent upon your individual Dog, Your Dog will learn that indeed you 2 are Inseparable and they will stop The Pulling and the Crazy Behavior. Of course you are also Training as well. But in my opinion, I would NEVER stop holding my Leash in this Fashion. Because we NEVER know what might Startle our Dogs and cause them to RUN. I know that mine NEVER will. I hope that if you like this idea, you understand what I mean by a Slip Knot and are able to make it on yourLeash. It's Very Simple. Just remember, it must get tight as its pulled on. Good Luck 🐾
We’re starting our first obedience class soon and the “before” assignment was to start recall. We were given videos-this video teaches much better!! Thank you!!!! Now if only a video could teach me how to assess and make my dog play nice 🫣

Thank you for this video! It was very informative and the way you explained and showed, it makes such sense! Thank you for making recall easy to understand 😊. Hope you are doing well and enjoying Arizona ❤
Clear explanation and demonstration. Thanks much for sharing! Also, what an incredibly generous offer for free training. If I lived in AZ I'd definitely take you up on it. Have a great day! 💜
He has a nice nature - I love that there's no angry demands etc. My wirehaired dachshund was never trained before I got her and runs away anytime she gets freedom - totally ignores me, in fact runs away much faster when I call her. Naturally I can never have her off leash. 😢
Perfect timing for me to catch this video - I'm getting a 6 month old German Shepard in July and will be re-naming him. He has had very little training and has always been kept outside - so he's not house broken either. (OMG) This should be interesting! 🙂
I have always let my dogs grow into their names. One of my rescues started "talking" to me on day 2 (she's a doberman/husky). I told her that her attitude was spicy. She became Spicy. She's the BEST GIRL EVER! I also have 2 GSDs - Shadow and Justice.

What an excellent way to positively train him! Most people don't think to move away. ❤
Not only was Rolex getting a recall lesson, but also inadvertently learning retrieve
That was with Chanel, correct?
That's Cool how Bro helped someone learn something while helping us learn something.
Cool. I'd enjoy more videos like this. ❤
He's so cute, and he's such a good boy! You got so lucky the day you found him!
Your videos are great. It’s so good to have U here.
0:40-1:18 sound is low💜🎉

Augusto, you are INCREDIBLE. I loved this video (as I truthfully do with all of them!). Thank you for allowing us to see this beautiful process.
Bravo.
THANK YOU!! Videos like these I need. I can watch them over and over again. Perfect for many of us, I'm sure.
Fantastic training
Why u such a great person.... giving free lessons to anyone in Arizona...
You are so instinctively smart about dogs.
You make me proud to be Brasilian bro. Well done my friend. I been very successful with my dogs by simply watching you.
Love ya DD you’re a pure heart and thus I pray that you know Jesus!!! You’re a PERFECT example of caring for Gods creatures he placed us in charge over!!!! May God’s blessings bestow you always 😻
Definitely one of the best trainers around. Thanks for teaching us how to teach our furry friends.
🐾This video is unique and different…giving a “new puppy” training perspective is priceless!
The love and high energy is infectious!!🥹
Thank you Rolex and thank you DD!!🎉
Thank you love these informational videos. ❤
I absolutely LOVE these types of videos!! Getting to see you interacting with the different dogs in such a fun and relaxed way, yet still teaching us so many tips and tricks is awesome. ❤ Thanks for another great video!!
If you call me for dinner, I'll be there. But seriously, great video on those who would like to rename a pet.
Beautiful video thankyou
Wow, that’s going to help me out so much with my female Doberman, she’s been babied a bit too much and right now she’s the boss! And yes when I walk away she’s looking for me and comes with me. I’m not using it to my advantage. 🙌🏻❤️
😊Thanks for this tip.
You just hit on my main problem!!! We will work on this. Thank you sooo much!!!
Great method. Kind of what I'm doing but can tweak it now based on your advice. Thanks DD! If I ever emigrate to the US I'm coming to Arizona 👍❤️
I just love this video, the focused attention you offer the puppy/dogs equals positive results❣
I love watching your training videos! You are always so calm and gentle. 😊
Amazing. And the instructions are crystal clear and makes perfect sense.
It's interesting how he switches between German and English commands. German often sounds harsher and is a good choice as a command.👍🌞
I can't believe that so far everyone missed the truest subtitles ever written! Just forty seconds (:40) in shows everyone what HIS OWN PEOPLE think about him! And he let it be posted!😂
What Problem do you have ?
@@SusanneBrehl yeah. I'm trying to figure out what happened at 40 seconds other than the mic cutting out briefly.
....ooooh. 🤣🤣 "...to please your narcissistic personality."
Maybe I need some Glasses, I dont See this, Nobody normal thinks that about DD, He IS so ❤️❤️
YOU NEED TO PAY ATTENTION & ACTUALLY READ! Not just drink the cool-aid he's serving. The closed captions at 40 seconds states "when called to please your narcissistic personality." It right on the screen in black & white.
Such amazing advice! Thank you for sharing. Would love more videos like this! Hope you and pups are all well 🙏🏼
Pure training “gold”.
Good Luck 🐾
Such a lucky lady & doggie for getting a free training from the best trainer💥DD:)
Beautiful 😍 ❤he's growing fast if that's the puppy found taxi. Glad you got to him first. Love ❤️ your videos I am an animal lover
We’re starting our first obedience class soon and the “before” assignment was to start recall. We were given videos-this video teaches much better!! Thank you!!!!
Now if only a video could teach me how to assess and make my dog play nice 🫣
This is great!
I love watching your videos. I have absorbed so much from them. Thank you for your channel. Much luv!

What a helpful video. Thank you!
I'm watching all your ads in hopes you'll be able to do more videos about training our dogs. Thank you
Thank you for this video!
You are the best, DD! ❤
Always a joy to watch, especially watching Rolex grow and thrive with you ❤- BEAUTIFUL
Eres un angel
Brand names suck for a dog! But no words you are an amazing dog trainer!
Uber puppy sure is coming into his own! He is soooo cute. Good job with this one.
At the 40 second mark there is a sentence calling you a narcissistic personality.
You are amazing!!! Thank you for teaching us!
I have always let my dogs grow into their names. One of my rescues started "talking" to me on day 2 (she's a doberman/husky). I told her that her attitude was spicy. She became Spicy. She's the BEST GIRL EVER! I also have 2 GSDs - Shadow and Justice.
