As someone who’s read the manga, they captured the vibe PERFECTLY. I was scared with the announcement of the anime that they wouldn’t do it Justice, but this just blew me out of the water. The distorted visual effects, the slight noise effect, the realistic backgrounds captured that uneasy nostalgic feel of the original perfectly.
I just really hope they don't erase the love (love? whatever it is, you know) story aspects of it, it would still be good but I feel like that would get rid of some major plotpoints.

This is giving summertime rendering and shiki vibes I love these type of horror movies/series where MC is caught up in horror situation in a remote peaceful island or village cuz its like gives u vibes that ur on summer holidays on remote places but then u realise u get caught up in some dangerous event
'peaceful' is subjective in this case >:) the setting being a remote village is actually one of the driving factors for the psychological horror in hgsn. i would HIGHLY recommend the manga- the anime looks like it will be great as well, but nothing can beat mokumokuren's original design. its a seriously great read

i'm so hyped for this. while people fight day in and out whether or not it's a BL or not, i personally don't care. It's a horror series that also tells a love story. it is quite literally driven by this love story that's so confusing. and i think it's amazing. this is about Yoshiki and Hikaru. Hikaru died. Hikaru is replaced with an unknown being. Yoshiki is distraught because he has always loved Hikaru romantically. This new Hikaru loves Yoshiki. And all of this causes Yoshiki distress because they're trying to solve the mystery of the Indoh Family (aka Hikaru's family), but Yoshiki finds himself with a HUGE conflict. Yoshiki keeps helping this new Hikaru lay low and stay safe. But Yoshiki doesn't reall separate the two of them. There's original Hikaru and new Hikaru. He knows in his mind they are different, but he doesn't actually separate them as fully two beings. Because he loves og Hikaru, he technically has NO obligations to help or be around the new one. Yet he does, because again he loves Hikaru. I think this is a great conflict. It's like to me the trope of seeing your dead lover in your new lover to a whole new level. Because he wants Hikaru so bad, he doesn't care what form he is in. But this new hikaru literally isn't the original hikaru. this is a whole new person. So as much as Yoshiki wants to, he can't keep project his feelings on this new Hikaru. this to me is such a delicious plot because Yoshiki is obviously going through the stages of grief and he is so vividly rejecting the death of Hikaru, hoping that he could revive him somehow. but also he has this love story with a new hikaru, an entirely different person. so he just becomes more confused and disillusioned with the whole scenario. again, i LOVEEEEEE this series and i genuinely don't really know how it's gonna end. i've said so much in this comment, but this is just the start. I love the plot, but so far I don't actually know what this is going to be all about. Is Yoshiki going to move on? Is he going to stay with this new Hikaru? Will Yoshiki actually separate the two beings, or will he stay disillusioned, chasing a version of Hikaru that doesn't exist anymore? What will happen to the new Hikaru? I'm excited to find out.

No demon replaced his brain, it's called 'aberration' it's nor a demon or a spectrum, it's something beyond human knowledge, they just called it "Nounuki-sama" cuz one of the characters said that humans need an explanation or a name for everything, but whatever is inside 'Hikaru' is not a god or a demon (chap 29). 2. The 'demon' didn't replaced his brain, Hikaru died and that aberration could grant wishes and Hikaru asked the aberration to not leave Yoshiki alone before dying, once Hikaru's soul died and that thing took his body, but there is nothing inside, only void.
Since this is getting an anime, let me say PLEASE consider reading ‘when sato-kun died’ it’s worth it. It only has around 6 chapters and it’s completed. And it’s about this boy who died and turned into something like a zombie. Totally irrelevant tho but if it gets popular enough it may get an official ova or something👀

I just saw this wtf!!? It looks amazing! The manga is so good. If anybody is put off by the "BL" just know this isn't what you're thinking about and you're doing yourself a disservice by not at least giving it a chance. It's creepy and somber, horror and beauty. The art is beautiful and there's so much to take away from it.
It isn't much, that's why Momokuren takes a lot of time to upload new chapters (even months) but it seems like the anime studio saw potential. If the anime becomes famous, we probably have regular updates, this excites me sm.

I just saw this wtf!!? It looks amazing! The manga is so good. If anybody is put off by the "BL" just know this isn't what you're thinking about and you're doing yourself a disservice by not at least giving it a chance.

It isn't much, that's why Momokuren takes a lot of time to upload new chapters (even months) but it seems like the anime studio saw potential. If the anime becomes famous, we probably have regular updates, this excites me sm.
@@jujubiu it is well known tho. it’s sold a lot of copies and it’s even won an award. her lack of consistency with updating has nothing to do with its popularity. and with the anime in the works, she’s probably even busier.
