You might enjoy that as the viewer, but that isn't in this fine gentleman's interest in the least. He can't begin to comprehend where a song like Ascensionism comes from without context, and the only context is previous Sleep Token songs. Don't get me wrong, he'd fucking love it, but he'd love it MORE if he had the context to help him comprehend the more hidden meanings wrapped into that absolute masterpiece of a song. Personally I think he should go back to the beginning. The Night Does Not Belong to God. Genesis as it were, and then have his mind blown by The Offering. :D

I only discovered Sleep Token in the last few months myself and they finally got me out of my Dimash-only obsession 😂 The singer, Vessel, writes everything they do except the drums. The lyrics are definitely worth paying attention to, he is very poetic and many songs tie into each other and call back to older ones. 2 EPs, 3 albums, and some singles - you've got a ways to go!

A little introduction to Sleep Token: Sleep Token are a British band from London, formed in 2016. The group are an anonymous, masked collective led by a frontman using the name Vessel(the lead singer and primary songwriter of the band.) Vessel and ii(the drummer)are the only members of the band who have been credited as performers on Sleep Token's studio albums. ii is also the only member apart from Vessel who has been given songwriting credits. There are two more members that play bass(iii) and guitar(iv) when Sleep Token preforms live, and a few women who do live backing vocals known as the ’Vesselettes’ (hope I wrote that correctly). They don’t really fit into any genre… As for the lore, the band worships a deity by the name of Sleep, who is essentially omnipotent, everywhere at all times. Vessel discovered Sleep in a dream being promised magnificence in return for Vessel becoming a follower. Sleep Token’s songs are offerings to Sleep and depict Vessel’s relationship with them.

Finally! the reactions ive been waiting for...sleep token are simply brilliant, take me back to eden is hands down the best album ive heard this year.
I started with "Alkaline".....Vessell II blew me away and it took me a minute to appreciate Vessell's gnarly vocals. He's insanely talented on so many levels.
I still think Will did the best rendition of this one.

Oh you are in for a treat! This band is FIRE!! They don’t have any bad songs. They have 3 full length albums and 2 3-song albums and some singles. First album was released in 2016. But if you want more I would recommend:

Yes man! Sub'd. They go back a few years but I only caught wind in January 23 when they started dropping singles ahead of Take Me Back to Eden & I quickly became obsessed. If you can, listen to all 3 albums bc they're a trilogy with lyrical & melodic allusions over the arc. TMBTE is my AOTY🔥
Sleep Token are an anonymous collective who wear masks to hide their identities and simply go by the names Vessel (I), II, III, and IV. There's fairly extensive lore behind everything they do. Vessel is the creative mastermind and he actually writes and performs everything except drums in the studio (II is the drummer). The live band does have a a bassist (III) and guitarist (IV), along with a small backup choir, of which one of the members plays keyboards on a few songs. Now that you've got your feet wet, just listen to the entire album in order. The Summoning is next and it's a hell of a ride. The three albums Sleep Token has released are a trilogy about the toxic relationship Vessel had with a goddess and it's really cool how he ties so many things together by referencing lyrics to songs on previous albums. He's a truly masterful songwriter. One of the best of our time.
