Deeply sorry for the loss. It's more than clear that the boy made a bad decision that cost him his life which is very sad but it's definitely not the train driver and or the company's fault whatsoever. Hopefully this can help not just teens but everyone to never do such.
I’ll say this .. I use to have to cross a railroad for high school .. one time I had to literally climb over the train it wasn’t moving thank goodness . But the railroad tracks goes miles all the way down to the mountains .. I had to climb over it . But I will say nobody has done it while it was moving .. I would rather be late for class by the train than never show up at all. My condolences to the family ❤
First of all, it is obvious you are unaware of the longstanding issues with this railroad and their train schedule. You would do yourself a favor to keep your opinions to yourself, especially if you weren't there, don't know the whole story about why this student felt compelled or pressured to cross. Obviously, there is more to this story the media is not reporting. For instance, how often do the kids have to cross as a train approaches, or even at a stand still??? Why is that considered acceptably safe when a kid's backpack could get caught under the train rendering them stuck unable to free themselves? And then if the train starts to move??? There are so many, many dangerous things that could happen, yet for years the train schedule couldn't be regulated???? And then what is the duty of HISD knowing this is occurring on a daily basis, yet instead of developing some kind of plan, fighting with RR they choose to turn a blind eye???? That's not putting students' safety first. That's I don't care. That's what's stupid. Not this poor kid probably being encourage to cross bc he would be late. You don't know what kind of tardy policy the school has. A more thorough investigation is needed and if it's found that in any way this student and others were encouraged or pressured by school personnel to cross, they should be fired bc of their terrible lapse in judgment. A young life cut short, a family planning a funeral instead of buying gifts for their child's Christmas, a horrible way to die. Where's the basic sympathy for this student and his family? So please, if you can't spread truth or well wishes, disable your phone.
First off sorry for the loss Second why is it the railroads fault for this? Trains have the right of way, moving slow or fast. Common sense would’ve prevented this
Suicide? Was the kid high? Autopsy? Toxicology? Union Pacific has a camera on train and captured the accident. Every kid interviewed sounds like they were given a script. 🤡🤡
I’m sorry for their loss. But for somebody his age he should’ve known better. Not to cross it as one was coming. And yes I’m 100% sure one was coming. Because if one weren’t, he would’ve enough time to get back up and cross it. But because he didn’t wanted to wait, he on accidentally tripped and got hisself killed! Nobody is to be blamed but hisself! Not even the train driver. A train cannot stop fast like a car can.
That's dangerous real dangerous since the track is not gonna move then they need to maybe build that school somewhere else just build a whole another school. Thats extremely dangerous. But prayers to his family
I'm sorry for the families loss but it's no fault of Union Pacific. It's teens looking for a short-cut instead of crossing where it's safe. It's laziness it's time to take responsibility for your poor decisions & for parents to warn their children of the dangers of not following the rules setup to protect them. No offense but getting struck by a slow moving train that's loud when it's moving down the tracks makes me wonder what was the student doing? I'm sure the Conductor blew his horn! 😢Ontario, 🇨🇦 💔
A middle school is across from those tracks. Why is there not a bridge ? I’m sure the home owners pay A LOT OF TAX MONEY why isn’t there a bridge? Why are they now looking into the possibility of building one. My mom said the children jumping over and under the train has been a thing since the late 90s when she used to drive to Davila elementary school. I blame the HISD.
The train should not pass during school hours! Patrick Henry Middle School has a bridge over pass the Hardy Train. Why wasn't this done for these students!??
Why should they changed after doing that for years before the school was even there. Those were middle school kids they know better. But did it anyway and it cost him his life.
It's a "known danger" to not walk in front of a moving train. This is a perfect opportunity to remind kids WHAT NOT TO DO! Tell kids not to be like Sergio and that trains cannot stop on a dime.
Ya know, with all of the industrial construction companies in South East Texas, a steel crossover bridge could be built within one week! Think about it?
Reading the comments is sure indication how cruel and heartless people have become. No care! No empathy! No matter where the fault lies the family and friends are hurting! This is terrible! Absolutely terrible, and so unnecessary. What they need to do is close the school for three months so the students can grieve and take time to process this trauma, and not be bothered with mundane things like exams and homework. Then the parents, teachers, staff, students, and railroad company need to sit down together in a large room and figure out a plan that everyone can agree on so that this will never happen again. Maybe they can stop the trains from running during school hours, or reroute the tracks, or crossing guards at the tracks, or something.
I pass this school every day to get to work. These kids just dont care about their own safety. Green light red light trian no train They don't care they cross the street with some kind of entitlement. I put the blame the school because they don't put police officers out there to handle these kids and the traffic. I hate that this kid had to lose his life. But I hope that others learn from it and stop being so entitled and act like they own the streets.
@@mariohernandez-um2sn Yeah kinda, if a construction worker said it was safe to jump off a bridge would you? Also who the fuck mentioned Orlando. That railway was probably there before the town was built.
Sorry for his lost of life. To be honest the trains are safe but you always have people trying to running in front of it like it’s a game.
