    The initial layer of rubber base apply like you did but don’t cure it’s called a slip layer,then take the second bead and use the side to side motion you did.then once you have that layer on turn you hand over it will level the gel. Also you can apply full cover tip with the rubber base gel.😊Good job very pretty

    Beautiful!
    Once I have that "slip" layer down I grab a decent amount of my gel and then when doing that swooping motion I barely apply any pressure.
    With rubber base, builder, and hard gels gravity is your best friend! 😊
    Thank you for a fun video!❤

    So simple and so pretty 💕 they look great!
    Rubber base gel can also be used to adhere full cover nail tips. Instead of using the clear gel you can use a color rubber base gel as well.

      Thank you! I didn’t know, I can use these rubber base gels from notpolish to apply full cover nail tips?

      @@NailedByBrandi you can use any brand rubber base to apply tips. I hope you are feeling well with your pregnancy

      @@NailedByBrandiAbsolutely, and once you have them cured on flip your hand over and cover the underside of the tip with the rubber base. It just makes it a little easier that way then trying to fill the tip all at once. Hope I explained that right 🫣

    I adore rubber base gels. Builder gel lifts on my flexible nails but rubber has enough give that it’s never lifted ❤

    Once you have the rubber base laid flip your finger upside down for a few seconds before curring.

    They turned out so cute! Thank you for sharing your process even if this was your first try. I think it helps when you are making the same mistakes but understand why you made it. New subbie. :) I do my nails on my free time but I am not professional and it takes me soooo long lol

    I barely put any pressure and keep it mostly in the middle. Then a little bit on the side with a liner brush. 💜

    Don’t care the slip layer and then flip your finger upside down to help level out the gel also using a liner brush to help direct the gel around your cuticles

    If you start from your pinky first there is less chance of budging them, just a tip 🙂

    Brandi & knowledgeable peeps in the comments, Does Rubber Base peel off or is it used like a BIAB?

    • @TracyCampanella
      @TracyCampanella Місяць тому +1

      You apply it very similarly, but rubber base is more flexible whereas biab is harder. It should not peel off, no.

    • @dizzyraez0716
      @dizzyraez0716 Місяць тому +1

      @@amiedeangelis8915 I think also rubber base is a soft gel while BIAB can be a hard gel or soft gel (file off or soak off)

    Unfortunately, not polish is very inconsistent with their colors and their brushes. Some of them come with the labels, some brushes are wider shorter. Some are even mangled. I’ve had this problem with them a lot in the past. Hope they do better with these rubber base gels.

    Thx for explaining the part of it helps them to not pop off. Bc I stopped doing gel ex is bc every time I do them on my daughter they always pop off and that don't happen wen I do polygel or acrylic on her only gelx so I'll try this thx😊

    The end result was very pretty, but the method of application was off and I would hate for new people to be confused when they try this method. When doing the “Gel-X Overlay Method” you don’t apply a “slip layer”. (Just FYI…..when applying a slip layer, you’re not supposed to cure it after you apply it. The slip layer should remain wet, but again….No slip layer is needed when applying the Gel-X Overlay Method).
    Next, apply a small bead of gel on your brush and apply it right before the gap at the cuticle of your nail, then slightly push the small bead back and fill in the gap at the cuticle and drag the rest of the gel down the length of the nail. The amount of gel you applied down the whole nail was like you were building a nail extension, it was way too much. The only area where the majority of the gel was to be applied, is just to fill in the gap at the cuticle and the little bit remaining is just brushed down the nail. I believe you just apply one small bead of gel right before the gap and then push it back to fill in the gap…..then brush the little bit of excess down the rest of the nail, but applying that much gel down the WHOLE nail is not how the Overlay Method is supposed to work.
    Hopefully this makes sense! 😉
    Ps…..”Journeys with Jai” has a YT channel and she has SO many Gel-X Overlay Method videos, which are excellent! I highly recommend! 👍🏾
