It will very much depend upon the conditions whether an intermediate will be able to tackle the first part of the slope easily or not. Best is to do it in the morning. We did it with our ESF instructor in the afternoon and it was chaos: pretty narrow course, lots of skiers on that part of the run, with small moguls everywhere. It was so bad our ski instructor told us to use the off piste portion to the right of the slope, with easier conditions (!) than on piste. The rest of the Sarenne is more blue than black and indeed very scenic. A unique experience.
I've done that a fair few times. its a nice run, but its only considered a black due to the first 100 meters can be tough if its icy. Once your past that it just gets easier and the views are amazing. Be prepared to pick up speed when coming to the flat section about 3/4 of the way down otherwise it is a long walk until gravity takes over again.
