All three of my kids lived in those zippered pjs for the first 6 months. Loved them! Y'all are giving me baby fever seeing sweet baby Brooks every day!
I love how your family is changing!!!!! It is wonderful. It brings me happiness and helps me deal with my health issues better!! Have not had my Cullen and Katie old vlog fix in awhile!!! Gonna do that soon!!!!
Oh my gosh Cullen I LOVED you reading the book to Macey Gaines! You're such a good dad to your little ones, and it's so sweet. :) Katie, you're an amazing mommy too. Way to go guys. Keep it up!
I love seeing y'all actually parent your children! I have a 7 year old and when we started dealing with interruptions, we taught him to put a hand on our shoulder or arm so we knew he needed something and then to wait for us to finish our conversation. It took awhile (he was slightly older than Gaines when we started), but he got it eventually and it worked really well. He's helping to teach his 3-year-old brother to do the same!
One of my three suffered from gas so she cried a bit until I figured out that I needed to keep rx on hand for that. Temperament is a factor, but I attributed the fact that they didn't cry to not giving them a reason to cry. I fed them before they were too hungry, changed them as soon as there was reason to, cuddled them, entertained them, etc. it came down to anticipating and meeting their needs so they had no reason to cry. If ever they did fuss or cry, it meant a trip to the doctor because they were unwell. You two were blessed with two very easy babies and are attentive to his needs. I recall you weren't quite as chill with MG.
just wanted to say how much I love your family !!!you guys give me hop!!everyday I have something to look forward to I say "hey they had it rough at the began and now they have a beautiful family"so I put on my big girl and watch another one of your blogs I promise I'm not just some creepy fan I just wanted you guy's to know how much I appreciate you guys putting your story out there
Baby Adabelle was adorable !! Your hearts must have melted every time you looked at her. You must be so proud of Gains that she is growing up to be a beautiful, hugely intelligent little girl . Parent goals right here 😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊
Your vlogs make me feel better when I'm anxious. I was 3 minuets in and my anxiety was getting bad so freshened up (it's 1:30 pm where I am) and continue watching your vlog and its makes me feel better
Omg!!! I absolutely love love love little baby clothes they are just the cutest!!! Don't ever feel like you are annoying the viewers with showing us those things because if there is anyone like me I love to see that type of stuff!! Love y'all:)
I agree that its both temperament and a good schedule. My first two never cried and I swore it was because I had them on a good schedule from day one, but this third little girl has got me on a run for my money. Ive been doing the same things and she just like to cry...oh well
To answer Katie's question...Probably nobody knows better than Katie does because of her training, but Gaines is so used to having undivided attention, that it is probably very difficult for her to wait her turn. With both parents at home all the time, taking her everywhere, etc. and one to one outings to Granddolly, she hasn't had to learn to wait. I am a teacher of many years and I think that she could benefit from a couple of mornings a week at daycare or pre-school. She might benefit from sharing the teachers' attention and would also learn co-operative and independent play. I hope this helps. On another note, have you considered doing a vlog where you interview Gaines about her brother and being a big sister? That would be adorable!
shopping haul 😍💖💖 my kind of vlog, love your shopping finds too! I've bought those Jean color jeggings for my daughter since she was 3 months, every age after that.. she's almost 4, they are just so convenient for all kinds of outfit styles. PLUS brooks' onesies! 💙 annnnddd lol u can't beat those zip up sleepers.. perfect for middle if the night changes.. LASTLY . love you guys! 😉
hey i think that a toy box bench type thing would be a great idea to have in that empty space because it give people places to sit but it also gives gains a place to cleanup and store her toys
my children LOVE the tickle monster!!!! they got it for christmas a few years ago!! great way to end the night, especially if it was a stressful day! :)
Can't believe how tiny Ada is how time flies I even remember watching the blog where you rescued a dog while out shopping but that was when you were pregnant with MG though I only started watching you when you did DBCKWinterVacation so it has already been nearly a year😘
In all of my early childhood education courses and since then in my preschool teaching it has been stressed that from age 3-5 children are just developing the knowledge that the world does not revolve around them. Prior to that age, you can introduce the concept of interrupting and being patient, but actually expecting a child to fully comprehend what that means is asking too much. Gaines seems to do pretty well when you say, "Mommy is talking" after she interrupts so she's definitely developing her skills there. My best advice is to just keep doing what you're doing by saying that after the interrupting occurs, but not expect that she won't interrupt. And with independent play she's also pretty typical for her age there too. Around age 18 months-3 years most kiddos are starting to want to do more things independently but they still want you nearby (note this isn't all of them, some kids prefer to play alone from day 1 and that's perfectly normal too), especially so that you can see their accomplishments or help when they want you to falls pretty much in that "revolves around me" world view ;) lol. Around age 3 is when you can really begin to say, you need to go play by yourself mommy has work to do and not feel too bad about it. Gaines is such a bright child you've definitely got nothing to worry about! She'll get there :) Even if it is a most exhausting age!
Awww - Ada must have been born around the same time our Tucker was. He was born 6 years ago at the end of June, and we brought him home the first week of August.
My first baby was exactly like Gaines and brooks. He never cried and slept through the night. My second had colic. All he did was cry, sleep, and eat for 3 months. He was never content. Not all babies are chill like that. You are LUCKY.
Katie! Thanks for keeping it real and shopping at wally world! :) do you have any recommendations for educational toys for a 9 month old? Gaines is so advanced! ya'll must be doing something right!
Back to the part where you guys said he doesn't cry I didn't cry and I'm the 2nd child so I think it's because you guy have more experience of being a parent this time!
+Cullen & Katie my son didn't cry for the first 3 weeks because he was early. I was told early babies tend not to cry and then once near their due date they will cry and right enough Jamie did. Doesn't work all the time though as my other son Jackson was a week early and cried from day one lol.
I'm gonna need more details on this schedule you're implementing 😂 Our now toddler was a colic baby - expecting her little brother in a few weeks and Lord knows I can't handle another colic babe!
I'm studying Early Childhood at school. Macy since you said she is turning two the interpretations won't be as minimal as you'd like. She has a new brother so she's probably making sure that you still know she's there and that you don't forget about her. If you involve her in helping take care of Baby Brooks she'll enjoy that a lot. :) when Cullen was reading that book to her she seems to really enjoy that. I think you guys are doing amazing as parents. But she won't fully understand until she's older. :D I hope that that helped you guys! :D I love watching your videos!!!
the interrupting hand! if she needs to speak to you she'll put her hand on your arm and tap her hand so she knows you've acknowledged her and then she'll wait at your side until you can talk to her!
I LOVE Taziki's! I use to work there when I lived in bama. My absolute favorite is the Friday pasta. I've made my own version of it at home, lol. I always go there whenever I'm back in town!
Do you have kids Consignment sales there? I like to shop at those because I like to have a ton of options with kids clothes. I'm really picky with clothes and it takes a while to go through everything, but I've scored some amazing deals on boutique items. Plus the last few days most stuff goes 50% off. It's also a great way to get rid of clothes and make a little extra money.
Hi! I'm so excited I found your sweet family through Ellie & Jared, I also live in Sweet home Alabama ❤️ in Oxford. I've enjoyed watching your sweet little Gaines & newborn son. Your family is so sweet, who knows we might run into one another one day, as we come to B'ham quite often. Have an awesome Friday❣ ❤️ROLL TIDE❤️
How did you do the voice over the pictures of Adabelle? Is that a feature on Final Cut? I recently started vlogging and I have to use Windows Live Movie Maker. It gets the job done but it's missing a lot of features. I was just curious.

Its crazy how fast Brooks is changing. 😍

That's exactly what I said yesterday
Our pediatrician has that book in one of the exam rooms and we read it last time we were there. My 6 year old loved it!

Cullen's face at 7.50 LOL we were all thinking the same :D
Cullen when you read that book to MG and went silent after kitties my immediate thought was "Innapropriate Cullen" 😂😂😂

I was like is this not a kids book??
I can't get over how cute Brooks is! Macey Gaines seems a little jealous, haha!

Back to the part where you guys said he doesn't cry I didn't cry and I'm the 2nd child so I think it's because you guy have more experience of being a parent this time!
+Mia Coppola Gaines didn't cry much either! They are very similar in their personality/temperament. :-)
Apparently I never cried either as a baby, however I do have GAD and I began showing signs at like 2-3 so im not super chill now LOL.
+Cullen & Katie my son didn't cry for the first 3 weeks because he was early. I was told early babies tend not to cry and then once near their due date they will cry and right enough Jamie did. Doesn't work all the time though as my other son Jackson was a week early and cried from day one lol.
i love your guyses videos. you guys have the best videos ever I love baby brooks and Gaines you guys are the best
So are y'all no longer using the Summer Infant baby monitor? We are in the market for one and noticed y'all using your phone as a monitor in a vlog :)
I'm gonna need more details on this schedule you're implementing 😂 Our now toddler was a colic baby - expecting her little brother in a few weeks and Lord knows I can't handle another colic babe!

My 5 month old son have the same outfits😍😍😍I love watching your videos congrats on baby brooks also
That book was so cute!!!
Brooks is so cute, im pretty sure most of you agree!
I love the fact that you have candles in your fireplace.
Our almost 2 year old granddaughter who lives with us with her single mom (our daughter) has the same temperament as Gaines! So cute!
Aww loved seeing baby Ada pictures
i love kids clothes from Walmart! cheap, durable and adorable!
Gaines is such a little diva lol
the interrupting hand! if she needs to speak to you she'll put her hand on your arm and tap her hand so she knows you've acknowledged her and then she'll wait at your side until you can talk to her!
You guys should put Brooks on the intro picture
Katie where did you get that baby brush? its so cute
Did you guys decide not to use the puj *sp* babby bath that you had with gaines?
I thought Gaines was there when I first started watching you guys!! She is so advanced
what stay shop did you get those blankets from again? I tried to find the blog where you talked about it but couldn't.
I LOVE Taziki's! I use to work there when I lived in bama. My absolute favorite is the Friday pasta. I've made my own version of it at home, lol. I always go there whenever I'm back in town!
That book is so cute!
Not sure if it's been said before but what breed is Adabelle?

What are those peppers that Cullen made on grilled chicken once on the vlog it was a sponsored vlog and some were sweet and some were spicy!??!
the granimal onsies run really big so Brooks should be able go wear them a little longer.
+chasityann Ok I was thinking they looked big in the store! Glad I'm not crazy for buying a couple in NB size!!
+Cullen & Katie with my daughter she could still wear the newborn size onsies until around 4 months or so. and she was a BIG baby haha.
Sams always has great prices on Carters brand clothes too! They usually have cute little kids outfits that go up to a size 5 or 6.

HA! Cullen and I think alike. When the awkward rhyme was being read, we thought the same thing.
I love the intro it's so nice
Love you Katie, Cullen mg and baby brooks!!!
Yup. We love em all so so much. So cute and funny
I need to get my mind in check. There were several points of that book that could be misconstrued. 😂
I'm so jealous of you guys! My son just loved to scream at all times. No matter what I did! 😩
What kind of pacifier does he use?
