alhamdulillah!!! i am so depressed .... to the point where at times i feel like i have no future ....burdened with the sins of past ,haunting me ...this lecture eases the pain in my heart ...and i thank Allah for putting me through this coz i had almost forgotten him.... remembered him only superficially ....this pain and suffering brings me closer to allah and make me ask for genuine forgiveness ...at this moment i feel like its the lowest point in my life ...jobless(i was this close to getting it), suffering from depression on a daily basis , unsure and afraid of the future at times i feel there is no purpose of this life , but daily remembrance of Allah is giving me the strength to hang on .This lecture comes as a blessing. .Makes a lot of things clear , eases the burden of sin , helps me set myself free from the past ...thanks you so much .... may allah bless you.

monsur habib Asalamu Alikum May Allah make everything easy for you but from my experience I was like this in my younger days and my aunt took me for ruqya treatment. I didn't even know at the time she forced and walahi I didn't know I had bad evil eye. so try and see what do have to lose. But make sure that the person doing ruqya is practicing Islam and only using Quran healing from the sunnah of the prophets SAW
monsur habib and holding on to your pass this is from the shadidan playing with your mind. if you have asked for forgiveness don't worry about the pass and move on. I was like this then in the Quran it says a believer should not worry about the pass wrong doing just don't repeat the same mistakes again. after all we are all make mistakes and the best of people are those who asked for forgiveness.

Salam alaykom, never forget, the past is like a mountain, too heavy to carry, it in reality was only for you to climb, and leave behind. Allah only gives you one day at a time to live, so when you say Astarghfirullah - sincerely, then leave it behind. TRavel light, Allah only wants you to deal with now, learn from the past, don't dwell in the past. Fi amanillah
I'm so glad for that dua at the end, how is it we're so tough in the world yet when we make Dua we can't stop the tears /crying. Allah forgive us all increase our potential make us among those you love and not those who have lost amen

I know of guy bought up in the most Islamic way, hifz, fluency with the religion and very pious subhanallah.
A few years after graduation, he came across Richard Dawkins and his con artistry. Sadly for this brother, his obvious intelligence worked against him and he triggered the Dawkins pigeon hole and within a few months, left Islam.
Today, he is still wildly insistent on his Dawkins inspired theory, he is still a successful Employee working at a high level and he lives his life like the Kuraysh people did during the Rasools time.
This guy also married a Christian girl and has a few kids, all enjoying bacon sandwiches, parents loving their wines and enjoying their life in their respective communities.
I was on the verge of joining this guy down the Dawkins pigeon hole many years ago. I wasn't as intelligent as this brother was and didn't take things as seriously as he did with Dawkins etc. I went wild as well and was lost for a few years and I must admit,I never saw any inherent benefits in the rock n roll lifestyle, only a deep disposition lending itself to non productive things.
Unlike the other brother, I got tired of the jahilia lifestyle and went the opposite way in swearing every ounce of my being to Allah SWT.
Within days, my soon to be wife found me and since my marriage we have two incredible boys, unexplainable wealth and I never ever forgot Allah who I devote all my success to all the worldly rewards I have been and will continue to receive.
I'm not all that silly so I decided to go thank Allah personally by completing an Ithikaaf in Medina and in the last 4 years, I have taken my family for 3 umrahs, this will continue forever.
Like the other brother who I think invested in Dawkins, in my opinion the wrong guy, I threw my last strand of hair to Allah and my goodness me, I cannot believe what happened.
Just sharing this after this outstanding Imam who I listen to daily mentioned, "it's rare for a religious guy to go wild"...I had to share this story and use my own life as a reference point to demonstrate there's no doubt.
There is Allah the lord of all worlds, Allah SWT bless you all.
You can be religious on the outside but the if it has not submerged into the heart it will collapse under tests. Like some sheikhs will eat haram money when broke, or commit zina with their students if they get out of control. But leaving the fold of Islam is next level! Subhanallah. Plz don't be sorry, you didn't say something wrong, I do pray for her but before Allah answer my Dua, she insists for divorce and that argument has negative impact on my 9 and 7 years children !!!!😔 please you remember us in your Dua.

I really enjoyed this lecture, I felt Sheik Abdur-Rahman clarified for me, finally, too many questions I had on this exact subject. I appreciated his heart-felt prayer in the end, that not only could I understand it (English), but it was unique to this day and not just repetitive words, I have benefitied so much from what other ppl might take for granted, and that is the fact I usually have very little idea what they are saying as it is in Arabic, and it usually sounds repetitive and rehearsed. Sorry I cannot quite put into words how wonderfully I feel after praying along with him! May Allah continue to bless you and your teachings! Allahu Akbar!
