Sent this song to my older brother as I do when I find a gem. We don't talk a lot but I love him. He died a couple weeks later from alcoholism... wish I had called him. He left a 14 and 16 year old boys. They lost their momma 3 years ago to same type issue their father had. Very regretful feelings of not talking to him much and then for some fucking weird reason I sent him this song. I love the darkness of the song but it became so real it's hard to listen to. Thanks for writing the music you do.

I have to say something about this live acoustic version is so much more powerful than the LP version... It's like I can taste the raw emotion, being able to watch his facial expression and body language helps I suppose. Both this and the album version are excellent, but I find myself listening to this version far more often!

I listened to White Buffalo - This Sunday filled with sadness and pain quite literally cos I had two broken legs, And other things happening, I’m not gonna say. I’d got a point where I’d almost given up, off my head on bed rest & meds. I just spent a joyous time dancing and moving from the waist up. Saying a silent prayer- to heaven, cause your music took me there! And I didn’t feel sorrow or stuck- only the rhythm of life and a guitar and a voice - a million blessings for your songs, that gave me back some peace, and a few hours doing something of my choice.

Your songs answer a lonely place, in my Heart where only Spirit yearns to be. Something other than grief to embrace. Conjures Ancient feelings trapped like mountain mist, as it struggles, to get free! Surrendering to the bliss, like the Kiss of a Mothers - Tongue, a Silent Prayer for Me... Joy worth more than any gold coins, Inspiration for Me to write this poem!

It’s like a mesh of Eddie Vedder and Chris Cornell. His voice and guitar Melody’s are absolutely hypnotic. Love his music across the board. Really takes you away. Especially as a Veteran, I love to see when someone can paint a picture of us in their songs. The Whistler is probably my favorite.

I got turned on to this music by a dear friend of mine. He was told to listen to Come Join the Murder, he was not sure why at the time. Since then we have listened to all of his songs and cannot stop! I truly love his voice and his story telling songs. This accentuates what I think people love about acoustic guitar work. Not just playing guitar, but PLAYING THE GUITAR. Not just just the notes but the physicality added to them. Softly strumming and then forcefully. A real performance

this is why God made humans. For the ones that can sing like this, for the ones that can express all the best and the worst that people can be. This voice is as beautiful and moving as a sunset or an ocean. Its more than him. He was blessed enough to have the gift of that voice and the mind state to perform the way he does. Raw and real.. I could listen to Jake every day and never tire of his voice and his lyrics. HIs songs tell stories that the common man/woman can relate to. The only thing better than listening on youtube is seeing this man perform live. He just emanates emotion and power.

This is totally superb ,the Voice floors me every time i Hear this man.The Thing that is driving me "Insane " is the date 1983 ...whats its significance in the song ,very puzzling .I had a look at wiki and oddly found that a statue dedicated to the rare White buffalo and the importance to the Indian nations was finished in 1983 and now stands in a Location in Kansas .Could it be a homage to the Rare animal killed for its fur? as its his stage name..just intriguing

Upon leaving this amazing event, not looking for anything, spotted an amazing purse. It was tooled leather of a full Sacred White Buffalo head. An amazing work of art. The woman who made it was Native American, explained that his name was Big Medicine and had been leader of the herd in Yosemite Valley, CA until 1957. After having it for most of my life, it was sadly stolen by someone who has no idea, nor cared, of its great significance and sentimental value of this amazing memory, history, and work of art.
