- In this video, I solve problem 2-7 from Elements of Chemical Reaction Engineering, Fogler, 4th ed.
2-7) The exothermic reaction A - B + C was carried out adiabatically and the following data recorded:
X | -r_A (mol/(dm^3*min)
--------------------------------------------------
0 | 1.0
0.2 | 1.67
0.4 | 5.0
0.45 | 5.0
0.5 | 5.0
0.6 | 5.0
0.8 | 1.25
0.9 | 0.9
The entering molar flow rate of A was 300 mol/min.
a) What are the PFR and CSTR volumes necessary to acheive 40% conversion? (V_PFR = 72 dm^3, V_CSTR = 24 dm^3)
b) Over what range of conversions would the CSTR and PFR reactor volumes be identical?
c) What is the maximum conversion that can be achieved in a 105-dm^3 CSTR?
d) What conversion can be achieved if a 72-dm^3 PFR is followed in series by a 24-dm^3 CSTR?
e) What conversion can be achieved if a 24-dm^3 CSTR is followed in a series by a 72-dm^3 PFR?
f) Plot the conversion and rate of reaction as a function of PFR reactor volume up to a volume of 100-dm^3. - Домашні улюбленці та дикі тварини
Big peter would call the CSTR and PFR two big animals! But we think solving these big animals will be on the second midterm!
You aren't teaching , you are just telling answers !
They're helpful 🎉❤
Thank you. I'm from Ecuador . I study Chemical Engineering . I have a test soon. Your videos really help me
You're welcome! I'm glad they are helpful!
Thank you :)
can you please explain how you got the conversions in part d and e of the
Hi. Mam can you solve problem 2.4 and 2.5 from the same book. And please elaborate how we van easily find conversion values. I don't understand trial and error. Please elaborate it.
How are u calculating the conversions with trial and error thing can u elaborate me? Im.not getting it
post the solution of problem 2-5
