- The New WORST Collapse I’ve Ever Seen! The Chargers failed to win after leading 27-0 in the NFL wild Card round. Trevor Lawrence orchestrated an unlikely comeback after throwing 4 interceptions to start the game. Justin Herbert & the Chargers now have the 3rd worst blown lead in playoff history.

Trevor Lawrence and Doug Pederson created more Jags fans in a single half of football than the previous 30 years of the team’s existence.
Damn, 30 years? Jebus
Except for that one time in 96....and Saxonville....
They were pretty boss during the Mark Brunelle era.
The Jags in the 90s were pretty trendy to follow; those colors, the '90s Starter jackets, Brunell, Jimmy Smith, Natrone Means, etc.
@@thepassingstatic6268 praise Jebus (said in a hushed Homer voice)
They will go down as the most chargered of all chargered games.
Rapid charging.
They out-Falconed the Falcons.
@@Aesoporific the Chargers were chargering before falconing was a thing. See Marlon McCree 2006
No they dont. He threw 4 picks if the charges coach had called a press defense in the second half chargers win.
@@matruscott So you're saying the it's not that the Chargers Falconed, but that the Falcons Chargered?
The fact that T. Law had a nightmare of a first half and still found the poise to go out and do what he did in the second half
this was an affirmation of character
@@otaviofrn_adv I keep forgetting that. People were saying how most quarterbacks would just fold, but it’s almost like he didn’t even remember he threw those interceptions it’s crazy.
@@itr0863 Dude's a national champ, he certainly knows what it takes to overcome situations like that
He stuck in there and did his thing. Lawrence is going to be a top 3 guy soon. However, it also took a historic collapse for that to happen as well 😂
Absolutely. The Chargers collapsed in a historic way--and somehow were ONLY up 20 at the half after a +5 TO differential--but without Lawrence playing a hell of a second half to bounce back from that nuclear-tier disaster that was the first 30 minutes of the game, there is no collapse to speak of and the Chargers move on.
As a lifelong Chargers fan who was at that game, for the first time in my life a tear actually left my eye as that last field goal took the Jags to 31. I've never felt more sad because of a football game. Congrats Jags fans, y'all deserved that win.
EDIT: Yo chill, I know the l know it's been rough. I've been a fan since 2006, but that game was different because 1. Playoffs 2. I was already figuring out how I was gonna get to KC for the next game at halftime. & then the Chargers found a way to lose.
I was suffering in private.
Definitely sympathize with you. I straight up cried watching 28-3 because I was rooting for the Falcons. No betting either. I just wanted them to win. I'm sorry.
Lifelong Chiefs fan myself. Watching that reminded me of the KC collapse in 2013…rivalry aside, that was a brutal loss
It was so brutal not even ready to watch this perna vid lol
Packers fan here. The 2014 NFC Championship game remains to this day as the most traumatazing NFL game I've ever seen. I feel you my brother.
Imagine betting $1.4 mil to try and win $11k and then you lose it all 😂
That hurt my soul.
He should've thrown 50k on the Jags ML at that point.
Yeah why would u do that? That seems so dumb?
Damn!!! I bet somebody committed suicide
that's a great 'charger' move.😳 fcuk math😐🤣🍻😁🙋♂✌😎
“Milk that clock like a prostate … sure it’s more work, but the end result is much more satisfying”. ROFL
As a resident of the city of San Diego, this really made my night. I had a ear to ear smile when the Jags made the Field Goal.
😂
Why? SD lost the same way lol
Couldn't happen to a better owner 😂
They should have never left SD.
As a jags fan, I'm glad you pointed out the horrid officiating in the first half. TLaw was bad in the first half, but 20% really wasn't his fault
The obvious pass interference calls that weren't called for Jacksonville in the first half were disgusting.
I agree it was horrible. Glad the Jags defense held them a bit and great coaching staff. This game could have easily been 50-0 after all those turnovers.
Jacksonville's defense was getting shredded in short and long field situations but they held up when they needed to
This was the worst hurt ever. I had to play a show (Saxophone player) and got on stage with 9 minutes left and felt my soul leave my body as my team lost as i had to perform for people.
Lol that's great. Wish it was recorded to you tube so I could watch.
Please tell me there was a full brass section there to do the sad trombone.
Tell me you also are in San Diego
@@tjenadonn6158 we had a trumpet and trombone, neither of which care about the NFL. so i didnt get anything, i just had to wear my Herbert jersey and play the funkiest shit i could while having no emotions. It was rough. and there is a visual recording of it. might post it for yall just to gloat. worst loss ever by the Chargers. worse than the Jets in 2010. worse than the Marlon McCree game. WORST. LOSS. EVER.
I visually buckle when the fg goes through.
You can not get over that without changing the entire coaching staff. You can not bring them back and have the team respond. They will do it again.
Lol I think I heard from Schefter that they are bringing them back. 😆
@@liferealgood 93 Oilers entered the chat
Fire all the coaches.
Shanahan has blown two Super Bowls in the same way. First one got him a promotion, the second time he kept his job. When amateurs (that only have a fraction of the knowledge these coaches apparently have) would be able to manage a game better, you have a major problem.
I remember Al Michaels calling the 1980 USA vs CCCP Olympic ice hockey game and him saying 'People didn't know the difference between a blue line and a clothes line' during the pregame. The guy has been around FOREVER!
We can always count on the chargers to make the broncos feel better.
🤣
Amen
makes us Raiders fans feel better about blowing leads LOL
Yeah, the Raiders blew five two touchdown leads this season, including a 17-0 lead to the Jags. I can’t imagine blowing a 27-0 lead in a playoff game. The Chargers won the turnover battle 5-0 and lost the game. It takes a special kind of suck to manage to pull that off. Well done Chargers!
As a Chiefs fan, I rooted for Jacksonville to comeback. Idk how on earth the Chargers always find ways to lose. Whether it’s offense, defense, special teams, coaching, play calling, injuries, luck, or discipline; the Chargers always do this. It’s funny bc later on, my team won the Super Bowl; this was a great season for me. Jags fans should be very proud of themselves, and hopefully y’all endure more success in the future.
The double tap helmet smash from Bosa is hilarious 😂
If you’re a player in this game you’ll be forever tied to biggest choke in franchise history. It’ll be hard to recover from this.
Nah if they win its forgotten. It'll be spinned to how that made them stronger.
@@mrhumble2937 Win what? A game lol? Nothing and I mean nothing but a playoff victory will erase this. It’ll be the story line the entire year and into the playoff. How much of lead do you need to win? How many turn overs do you need? None stop media questions.
It'll probably be known as the Joey Bosa game
@@Zetler nope. Just watch. Before next season starts, the sports talk shows will all pick the Chargers to win the division. With only a couple of other sports media dummies picking either Denver or Vegas to win it. They do it every off season.
@@rustyreese4006 That was BEFORE the Jags game. With Staley as coach, good luck.
As an eagles fan I’m so happy to see douggy P finding new success. I knew he’d find a way to make it back to relevancy elsewhere. Happy for him :))
It was the most Chargers game ever. I think the only solution is to change the team name or something. They have talent. Pretty sure if they just all played for a different team not named the Chargers, they would have won that game.
Yeah, they should have done what the Browns did in the 90s when they moved to Baltimore and changed the name! Look how the Ravens turned out!

@@parga999 or like the name you could choose for your team on Madden some years ago: LA Aftershocks
I have been following the Jags pretty closely over the past couple of seasons because I find teams in bad situations to be really interesting to follow, and because I have a friend who's a Jags fan. I was very excited for this game in particular because I was just shocked they made it to the playoffs after everything last season, and I really wanted to see them succeed. Watching that comeback felt like a microcosm of the entire past two seasons, hitting rock bottom only to make an insane comeback to prove everyone wrong. Jags fans deserved this win, and I hope they continue to see success in the coming games and seasons, they deserve some consistency for once.
man, this playoff season is pumping out great perna content
"Milk that clock like a prostate." This is why we tune in Perna, fucking classic. Agreed; this was the best quarterback hair game, and yet not one shampoo commercial.
That Sauce Gardner joke was so spot on. Never have I seen one player get away with holding and pass Interference so much.
As a Fins fan, I am proud of how my team played on the road in Buffalo in January with a 3rd string rookie QB.
Yes. They battled hard. We're not out of the game.
Also exposes how Buffalo barely won against a 3rd string so I wonder how it’s gonna be against the Bengals
It's insane people seen the AFC games as boring this round but then the games started and insanity happened and after that Bengals game just now it's been freaking insane and I'm a Bengals fan btw
They win with tua. You guys made it a game, unlike what my Patriots would have done.
I was sad that you guys lost. Your receivers make just a couple of catches, and we could be talking about an epic humiliation of the Buffalo Bills. As is stands now, the Bills look really vulnerable.
Brandon "Nice distraction from the Broncos" Perna
Yep and that Russ contract.
11:49 I love that Brandon's elbow patches don't actually cover his elbows. It's the little details that make this channel truly amazing 😆
What's even more impressive is the Jags coming back all those points while having to deal with that officiating lol. My God was it terrible.
Exactly and everyone else crying the game was rigged, etc. Yeah right like the NFL wanted to help a small market team. Lol
The TD before half was huge
Indeed. They had a pulse. I knew if the Chargers punted to start the half and the Jags immediately scored, then the comeback was ON. It was almost effortless compared to the Colts choke to the Vikings.
I personally can’t thank you enough for reversing your curse on the Jags halfway through the game! You’re an absolute golden god, Perna!
San Diego citizens slept so well knowing the LA Chargers blew that lead 😂
As a Jags fan, I was pretty low in the first quarter. My only saving grace was knowing the Jags had that comeback spirit and having lived in SD for 6 years, I had learned intimately, all about the Chargers Chargering.
I discovered football in 2017 and by pure chance, the team I picked, the jags, ended up having an amazing season that year. Since then it's been pain and disappointment. Until this year. I'm so excited about the future of this team
Talk about a tales of two halves for both teams.... GOT DAMN!!!!
It seemed to me that the Chargers defense ran out of gas in the last half of the 4th quarter. They knew that Jacksonville was going to drive for a field goal in the last minutes of the game to win and they didnt rise to the occasion and hold them.
Officials were on the chargers side, right up until one of them got his feelings hurt
Dude was tired of them wasting all their gifts, so he decided to change sides.
Look at the Chargers roster, I mean really look at it. Staley coached a Super Bowl worthy roster to a one and done season. He needs to go.
Don't forget he played his starters the week before instead of resting them and lost a wide receiver...Williams.
@@TheFrenchPug and in his entire tenure, when he's had a good roster to work with the whole time (especially this year), he's gone a total of 0-1 in the playoff. Most overrated coach in the league...
@Tommy Devine But he managed to convince the GM to can his coordinators. That way, he can keep doing seals in the end zone and running bleechers with his headset on.
As a Chiefs fan i remember that Colts game... i feel your pain chargers i really do...
That was Andy Reid and Alex Smith's first season with the Chiefs. Me and my buddy were celebrating the game at halftime, Chiefs up 28 points at the time. Colts won the game by one point... I remember feeling like the Chiefs were cursed at the time. Because they hadn't won a playoff game in twenty years at that point.
At least there was a superbowl victory later to ease the pain a little
My favorite moment was when Joey Bosa said "it's charging time" and charged his helmet all over the field, getting an unsportsmanlike conduct flag, giving the Jags additional yards for the easier 2PT and a certain win.
All that energy went to his big nose instead of his brain
How can anyone not root for the Jags? I’ve always enjoyed them since Bortles as my second team but now I’m legit going to follow them in the upcoming seasons. This was great.
Al Michaels called that game like a disappointed Chargers fan
A collapse so big it rivals the fall of Rome
A collapse so bad that it counts as a terror attack.
@@tjenadonn6158 man as soon as I saw the jags make that 2nd TD I thought "are the chargers about to screw this up for themselves?" It was truly a great game though
The jags earned that one for sure. Great weekend of playoff football all the way around.
This was a great wild card weekend. So many close games.
WWENFL scripted
Half the teams got a score of 31 and most were close 👀👀 it gets obvious its scripted
As a jags fan, I just loved to see Trevor turn it around so drastically so fast. Loved it
Trevor "sunshiiiiiiiine" Lawrence
I wasn’t too surprised when the Jags started coming back. The first half was super high-variance “luck” plays where the outcomes all favored the Chargers. That usually doesn’t last a whole game at that crazy of a level
I was saying this to a friend during the game. Herbert wasn't moving the ball. Without those turnovers he never gets across the 50
@@TheKilluminati yep, and there was way too much time on the clock for the Chargers to Charger it up
You've gotta be shitting me... I truly cannot believe that I, a lifelong Chiefs fan of 43 years, just hit subscribe on a lifelong Donkey fans channel. The excellent way in which you pummeled the chargers over and over again finally won the click. You more than earned it.
Remember when the Chargers fired Marty to hire norv turner? 😂 good times!
I can top that. Remember when Washington also fired Marty for Steve Spurrier?
The illegal contact by Samuel was really ticking me off. Seems like all weekend they were allowing a LOT of contact before the ball arrived. I'm sure this will change when the Chiefs' aggressive DB's start covering someone on Saturday. I hope I'm wrong but this is the expectation. And wow, only 7 rushing attempts in 2nd half? Was Andy Reid coaching them?
Chargers gonna Chargers lol. Shoulda stayed in SD.
Still love the fact that the last 2 season for the chargers have ended with a field goal.
Matt "Thank you Justin Herbert and Brandon Staley. . . . Thank You :')" Ryan
Lol, Baker Mayfield & Daniel Jones has more playoff wins than Kyler Murray & Justin Herbert 🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂
And Lawrence. Also they (all 3) have same number of playoff victories as Lamar, who is asking 200 mill $ contract.
I guess I started getting recommended this channel because I'm a Seahawks fan? And you had so much to say about Russell Wilson... but your videos are pretty entertaining... subscribed
7:05 who the F would do THAT in front of millions of people
And that's how I met your father, kids
As a Fins fan who hasn't seen a playoff win since 2000, I was happy to at least see another struggling Florida franchise get a W, especially since I despise the Chargers
“Unless it was sauce” 😭 omg FACTS
Now ya need A I cant cook Blend for Denver Fans......LMAO!! Great vid man!!
Chargers fans weren't upset by this epic collapse because there aren't any Chargers fans.
All 5 of them were in San Diego.
I saw Al Michaels in a friggin Evel Knievel movie from the 1970s playing an announcer because he was already famous for that
Brandon “The Chargers were in ‘2012 vs the Broncos’ form” Perna
As an Eagles fan I know what you guys have in a coach, he'll trust his players to make the plays and he puts them in the best position to win. I'm jealous that we lost him and I'm happy for him and his success in Jax. Jags should've lost to the Eagles in the superbowl in 2017, I hope we get that this year.
With this game out of the way, I wouldn’t mind a Jags vs Eagles Super Bowl, in terms of Super Bowl matchups.
Only if Hurts gets hurt and Gardner plays haha
Only philthy sheagle fans want the eagles in the Superbowl lol
*I’d prefer a *Bills-Eagles SuperBowl, but ANYTHING OTHER THAN THE CHIEFS, 49ERS, BUCCS, OR COWBOYS, IN THE SUPERBOWL, would be nice.* 👍
@@mid-s_to_earlysViBEZ Honestly, I’m rooting for Jags and only 49ers due to Purdy. I wanna see Mr. Irrelevant become _Dr. I. Relevant._
Don’t want the Chiefs either, but I’m not confident in the Bills. The triad of trouble has me worried about both Chiefs and Bengals matchups.
So don’t get me wrong, I’d prefer Buffalo, but…
Dougie P against his old team, the storylines would be mouthwatering
Thank you for pointing out the refs. They refused to call pass interference on the Chargers.
And refused to call holding on the jags oline
@@matruscott cope
0:38 ahh… and what a playoff game that was in 2013! Probably one of my favorite games of all time as a Colts fan, if not a top 3 then definitely has to be a top 5.
Oilers v Bills playoff in the 90s was awesome. I was just a kid, a middle schooler who loved Tecmo Bowl and learned the game by watching it on tv as a latch key Gen Xer.
Sustained concussions and torn ligaments playing in high school. Missed one game and ran chains with a swollen knee from what I guess was a MCL or ACL tear when I was 15. Remember running the 50/40/30/20/10/End zone sprints when we couldn’t do the practice scrimmage tackles bc one of us had a broken arm.
I wish football were better regulated and we all wore Don Beebe helmets and Tv gladiator style pads so no one got hurt…well, fewer of us/them and there weren’t bloodthirsty cops on Facebook pooping on football players, announcers and EMTs when it happened.
Oh America 😢 I’ll never let my son play football bc of this. I love football but I don’t want to see people die and suffer lifelong injuries to their physical and mental health for my entertainment
Glad you said even when they have the officials on this side because I noticed that before I walked out @ 1/2 time
Great video, hilarious takes and valid points made throughout it. The reason so many people including myself believe the NFL is RIGGED, is because of how different the games are officiated in the playoffs. Do the rules change? Is there a "point of emphasis" that becomes void in the postseason?? 😡
My feelers are a lil hurt from all the roasting of my jags. But thank christ you mentioned the horrible officiating. Jfc. Duuuuuvallllllllll
Who cares about the horrible officiating when it effects you😂dobbs was passing the hall it wasn’t a fumble eat my ass
Congratulations and all, but screaming the name of your county is incredibly gauche. (Look it up.) So 90's. Duuuuuumb!!!!!!
Was watching in San Diego with a room of Charger fans, says a lot that none of us were confident with a 27 point lead.
Yep, especially when Jags got their first TD to make it 27-7, I just had this odd feeling that they were going to comeback and win it. Might be the 30 years of being a Charger fan, but something felt amiss once they scored before halftime.
A nice little surprise to unite us Raider and Broncos fans after enduring miserable seasons
👌😂 *FR.*
the fact that the win probability chart is pretty much their logo is...insane.
