I love them both because (IMO) you can hear Phil's beautiful tenor on the first version and on the second one Don's rich baritone seems more prominent... my heart aches for our loss of these phenomenal souls at every listen... Please God hug them for me... 🎼💔

The first recording is the Cadence Record Co.. and the second recording is the Warner Bros. record; which was recorded later than the first.

The earlier version is better, I think. You can hear more clearly how they’re swapping off the melody, absolutely seamlessly. It’s an interesting arrangement because they don’t cross over each other; Phil has the higher part throughout but the melody switches from the upper voice to the lower voice and back.
