@10:38 maybe you could have played knight to C3? This guards the checkmate square and opens the rook to protect the bishop, as well as developing the knight.
10:45 I was thinking Nc3, although it could still be risky to not give your king an escape square. It does save your pieces at the moment. 11:36 ROOK grabs QUEEN! What am I missing? 😀 12:50 Qg8 Checkmate!!!
@@TheBackyardProfessor Nc3 protects d1 at the moment, but yeah I still don't like it. I think you were good letting the bishop go, to give the king a great escape square. Better safe than sorry. You were on the attack anyway, so losing one piece wasn't bad.
Not taking the Queen was interesting ! Hey professor, does Magnus Carlson or gms play the Italian opening as a viable winning strategy I read the Ruy Lopez gives you more chances I know Magnus plays that opening a lot
Great game BYP an inspiration!

Will you show and give your thoughts on the Grand Prix attack sometime?😁
Sure! A cool idea, thanks for asking, I shall look into it immediately.

GOOD eye on the Qg8 - DOH on my part! Lol
Nc3 would have allowed Qd1 with the backrank checkmate however.....
