Fun Fact: At age 6, Clyde became the youngest ever member of the Songwriters Guild of America , for a song he wrote for the Movie Miss Congeniality. His dad was the co-screenwriter and the producers axed the planned song. Clydes dad slipped his son's own song in and they loved it.
Welcome to the family business! As you already mentioned, Clyde and Gracie Lawrence are siblings that front an 8 member band out of NY. All the other band members have been friends they have picked up growing up, from middle school all the way through Clyde's time in college. Gracie joined full time after HS and they are on album #4 (the second under Jon Bellion's Beautiful Minds label). A few months back they performed on the Tonight Show (Whatcha Want), they've opened for the Jonas Brothers last year and just a while ago, opened for the Rolling Stones in NY. They have been featured on Jacob Collier's latest album, and Gracie is featured on Meghan Trainor's latest album (Crushin'). As much fun as the songs are, they really really shine live. They do not use any backing tracks, and everyone in the band is multi talented. The Acoustic-ish versions of the songs are a pretty decent example of the live feeling, but these sessions involve singing with a group of backup vocalists that are not normally part of the normal show. Still, fire sessions every time. You could easily just spiral down the rabbit hole with all of their stuff. More Gracie: 23, Freckles, The Weather (all have similar acoustic ish videos) More Clyde: Guy I used to be, False Alarms, Casualty (same) More both: The Heartburn Song, Superficial, It's not all about you, Hip Replacement (live videos, but not the acoustic ish session style) Go make yourself at home! ❤
Wow love these guys, they are new to me. Just noticed for those lucky enough to be in Brisbane, they play on their tour, January 27th and 28th 2025 this coming week. Too late for me, but I can hope they head to Australia another time. Thanks DrDan for the introduction. 😊.
Thanks for this new opportunity to listening to Lawrence. If Fun and Talent had kids, I'm sure they'd name them Clyde and Gracie. A singer to react : Lena from Infected Rain (Because I Let You - One take singthrough). She seems so talented to me but I know nothing about singing. I'd love to know your opignion.
Wow, a Dr. of Singing..now that's an awesome profession! I am so glad someone with your knowledge and expertise is onto Lawrence! You should definitely react to more of their acoustic/acoustic-ish versions of songs..different songs spotlight and showcase different approaches, arrangements, leads, improvs, harmonies, modulations etc. Just fantastic. Cheers, good on ya ✌🏼🦏
All of their "Acoustic-ish" videos are brilliant. They are an amazingly talented family. Their Dad is a TV/movie writer/director/producer: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Marc_Lawrence_(filmmaker)
Lawrence is always fun and there are other songs where Gracie REALLY shows her chops and range. She and Clyde also did that a bit with Jacob Collier and Michael McDonald on the song "Wherever I Go" on Djesse Vol 4. Speaking of JC, he's also teamed up with Aurora (A Rock Somewhere X The Seed) and Tori Kelly (Bridge Over Troubled Water) and Yebba who I also didn't see in your list of reactions. For really complex a Capella close harmonies vocals you would want to check out "Moon River".
Any hybrid “genre” would have to include Broadway musical theatre. Gracy has played on Broadway and acted on television. I call her the love-child of Aretha Franklin and Ethel Merman.
Hello. Can you react on Stell’ from SB19 ALL BY MYSELF during David Foster concert in Manila. Thanks. It’s been a while you since covered SB19 related.

Sure thing!
So you watched it before you reacted? I’m confused.
