Helpful video to differentiate between Biblical Counseling, Integration of Biblical and Secular Counseling and Secular Counseling. Dr. Mack uses the framework of the counselor's views on: God, Man, Sin, Source of Truth and Change. Excellent work, Thanks!
I've read Gary Collins book "Christian Counseling". I've also read Wayne Grudem's "Systematic Theology" and have essays on both books. Gary Collins never says truth is based on the Bible and other sources. He also never tries arguing that the Word of God is non-authoritative or infallible. He does make a case that SOME mental, physical and emotional issues are rooted in problems outside the scope of what the Bible addresses, such as depression caused by seasonal affective disorder, which can be addressed using methods or goals not clearly defined in the Bible. I don't think it has to be one or the other when it comes to Christian Counseling (or as the speaker labels it, 'Integration') or Biblical Counseling. They both serve different contexts and purposes. As long as Christian (or integration) counseling doesn't try disproving the Bible, misinterpreting it or arguing it's spiritual authority, or that of the deity of Jesus, I don't think we should throw the baby out with the bath water.
Just learned other people's sin did not cause me to sin a few years ago. Now unlearning my verbage with myself and others. I'm not a victim but a VICTOR because of what Christ has said and done ✝✝✝
I can tell you that having experienced both - secular counseling changed my behaviors for a very short time. Biblical counseling has changed my mindset for life. I was drastically changed toward the likeness of Christ, and now I am going through training myself, as I see that everyone in the church would benefit from this training! The sanctification process the Biblical counseling led me through also led to such radical changes in my life, that my husband was saved, having seen the changes in my life. God is so good.

Thank you! There's so much need of true Biblical Counseling.
Jay Adam says the word statue by David can be brought forward to the new testment. (In)Competent to counsel.
I’d love to hear comparisons offered by clients who have experienced each of these approaches.

Thank you for this teaching
It would be really helpful if you would provide sources for the quotes you make on secular John Bradshaw and integrationist Gary Collins

Is there a link to the workbook of which they refer?
Check Grace bookstore?
This is somewhat disturbing. The secular theory, that is…
Unequally yoked.
