Dark Cloud will ALWAYS be my favorite game. IDC if its old and rather unpolished compared to new games these days. This game above all others solidified my love of video games
It's not so much that other characters are weak it's that by the time you get Xiao Toan's weapon outclasses hers. The power you gain before you unlock a character always outclasses the character themselves
Did I say there wasn’t a sequel in the review? If I did, then that’s an honest mistake on my part. I know there’s a sequel! I might have been talking about wanting a dark cloud 3
daaaamn, now this takes me back... I remember it took me so, oh so long to realize you can get different outcomes in some areas by rebuilding houses in a specific order. So long without any way to reliably get bombs.
I remember this game I used to play this game all the time and there's a few things I didn't know I could do in it like putting attachments on and leaving them there I thought I had to level up the weapon and then put the attachments on and then build up I love this game but I love the sequel more they got rid of the dueling segments and the hydration bar and if you break your weapon you still get to keep it it just won't do as much damage!
my fav game , to get around how long it takes to lvl up weapons I remember when I was a kid playing they had a glitch where u can duplicate an item in the shop n that item basically improves all ur stats by a huge portion n that glitch still works on current ports as I've tried on ps4 n yea this game is so great n charming , Oswald is EASILY the best character wen u lvl up his guns 🔫😹
So i've loved, specifically, Dark Cloud 2. I've been tantalized to stick with DC2 largely because of some quality-of-life improvements from its first game, like giving one character hammer AND gun, and the other sword AND elemental, rather than splitting them into all separate characters, and weapons becoming useless but not gone forever once broken. I wonder if it'd be worth going back or if it really was just the overall improvement i was told it was.
Does anyone happen to know if there are camera settings for the horizontal camera? I'm referring to the ported PS4 version. This game has the very old-school camera where the camera pans right if you press left on the thumbstick, and vice versa. My brain can no longer deal with that setup. I've scoured the settings in the game but can't find any setting that would help, and I can't find anything online. Thanks!
GOD i was addicted to Dark Cloud! Such a gem!

"This is one of the PS2 games ever." Entirely accurate.
it feels like game devs were trying harder back then

I wish I was as good as you at narrating videos! This was a very cool video man! Keep them up 🇺🇸🦅
I remember having this on a demo disc and had a blast with it and played through it multiple times. Never got to play the full game though :(
First ps2 game ❤
One of the most wonderful ps2 games of all time
Got me wanting to check the game out now!
I got stuck at the sunken ship boss
that boss was so hard. I stocked up on fire gems the ENTIRE game till I got to that point just so i could finish that fight
Just so you know there is a sequel called Dark Cloud 2/Dark Chronicle for the PS2.

I thought you didn't know so I decided to recommend the game.

Of all the characters to love, why would you choose Osmond? He was terrible.

Thanks. I'll just have to deal with it if I ever go back to the game.
