Hey guys, thanks for linking to our interview and the shoutout. It's really appreciated. We were extremely fortunate to get a chance to talk to Brian Volk-Weiss and we're glad to see others as excited about this as we are!
Generations -Captain John Harriman played by Alan Ruck Wrath of Khan -David Marcus played by Merritt Butrick Search For Spock -Saavik played by Robin Curtis The Voyage Home -Dr. Gillian Taylor played by Catherine Hicks Voyager Seven of 9
I'm super excited regarding this news. I think the 6 inch/7 inch scale is the right approach. Star Trek needs their equivalent to the Black Series or Marvel Legends. With that said, while I think initially focusing on figures we haven't seen before is a novel idea and one I'm actually totally behind, I do hope we eventually see Picard, Kirk, Data, Spock, etc. It doesn't have to be right away, as I'd like to see characters who haven't been immortalized as action figures get their due (especially with an emphasis on VOY and DS9), but it would be nice to eventually get versions of our favorite characters that fit with this scale. They are, after all, favorites for a reason. I'm also a little bummed the newer shows aren't included in the license, as I am still REALLY looking forward to figures based on PICARD Season 3 and STRANGE NEW WORLDS, but maybe if these initial waves do well, Nacelle will eventually get the licensing rights to those shows, too. Regardless of what some fans say, there are fans of NuTrek (myself included) and I would acquire PICARD Season 3 figures and SNW figures in a heartbeat. This is very exciting news, though - the prototype (or at least what was shown) already looks better than the last Playmates line. I hope this line has enough longevity to do what other companies haven't been able to do, which is last longer than one wave. Where no modern Trek toy company has gone before...
I'm confused; they want to make characters that Playmates didn't do, but they're making them 6 inch? So they won't fit with Playmates at all and vice versa with Nacelle? Then they'd still need to make main characters, but I guess wisely spacing them out Any word if Playmates will get their act together and try some more with better effort? It's a shame that would leave so many missing characters for that scale/line. Maybe the Nacelle TNG prototype is a good Riker for a change, maybe even season 1 Riker. But pants almost look tighter like it's women's uniform; maybe Shelby then?
Subscribed! I'm very excited about this line! I do hope we'll get the classic crew figures at some point. I don't just want a shelf filled with randoms, I want the full command crews standing at their centre! I know Brian said he doesn't need another Kirk or Picard, but surely Nacelle want to go out and create the BEST Kirk and Picard. Hopefully they will balance the obscure characters and variants with classic figures. It's a good opening tactic - appeal to existing collectors with the figures that haven't been done before, then (hopefully) when they see how well the figures are being done, they will be willing to shell out for a definitive Kirk or Picard. K&M - check out images of Nacelle's upcoming Expanse figures, it gives a good idea of what to expect from "human" characters and their accessories.
I never heard of Nacelle company before this announcement but it sounds exciting and maybe a more boutique company is best suited for star trek. I like their goal of filling in less popular characters but a new line is still gonna need the major, most iconic characters to succeed .
I am excited for this. I wouldn't mind Dr. Soran with his jacket, and proper articulation. for me a chance to get some heads I can shrink also works lol
Demora Sulu, Harriman, Nurse Ogawa would be my picks of action figures we haven't seen from Generations. A more screen-accurate Soran would be interesting too.
of course, if you were going to go to a staple like a Kirk, I think a Kirk as he appears in his Starfleet vest and accessories like an ax and some wood, frying pan and eggs, saddle, and Bones clock getting really creative maybe a Butler the dog??
Disappointed that we still won't get SNW or Picard S3 figures, but hopefully they'll come later. Intrigued to see what's in the first wave, and need to dig out my own wish list and send it to Nacelle!
I hope Mego toys still has some kind of license for Trek figures. Its been about a year since the last wave came out with a Andorian and Talosian..They’ll always be my favorite for Star Trek
This is all great news, as much as i would like them to fit in with my old figures and new playmates picard, if theyre gd quality like ...well the bar for likeness from what i understand might be sh figuarts dont own any of them myself ... but im happy about keeping it roddenberry/berman trek, happy about getting them soon..my concern is that if they do limited runs are we even going to be able to get enough of them? especially in the UK which very often gets less of things, and im sure its even worse in other countries, ALSO - with the eye of faith can we see left of his right hand on the wall the blue dress of deanna troi which i WANT! with a version of her in silver/purple and red above, the dress looking like a snap on accessory ...maybe im reaching. And over his left shoulder a voyager/ds9 engineer uniform - b'elanna maybe, also hand looks better on the prototype, than the small hands problem from new playmates thanks for the show guys
An obvious one from Generations would be a screen accurate Kirk in his vest. Neither Playmates nor Art Asylum gave us that variant. He might even come with a log of wood to chop, or some burnt scrambled eggs
Hoping for full crews myself. So we won't have 6 inch Kirks or Picards, just Playmate scale one? .Focus on adult collectors not kids. Kids have not been playing Trek since the 90s
Tentatively excited about this. I've been burned so many times before, but a Marvel Legends/Joe Classified type of toyline is exactly what I've dreamed about for Trek. I hope they don't hold too hardline a stance on this focus on the "holes in our shelves", because I currenty HAVE no shelf to have holes in. "There are already a lot of Kirk toys", great, super, fantastic...do any of those Kirk toys match the design and scale of the Harriman toy you're releasing now? (That's my guess for the Generations character, btw)
you jest but couple of flight stands and leds and you could have something amazing, heck you could even make it have one of those things that projects if you shine a torch through it. companies like tamashi nation are doing amazing stuff with effects parts so it would look great too
Personally, I would like to see Star Trek T.O.S. figures in their accurate movie uniforms/ costumes. Especially, I want “Star Trek: The Motion Picture” thru “Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country” accurate 6 inch figures.
I am very excited about this! Like its been said, I had no idea how far along they are with the first wave before the original PR dropped recently. Getting some released before the Holidays would be fantastic. Captain Jellico is a great guess at that prototype. Not sure if there were ever a Wesley Crusher as an acting Ensign during season 3-4 in the regular Red TNG Command Uniforms in the original Playmates line?
Hi guy's, this is really great news for star trek figure collectors like myself! I myself would love to be able to add missing characters that have not been made. I would too see figures like Martok, the Hirogen, weyoun, Jem'Hadar, all of the Xindi aliens and the breen too name a few. Like keith mentioned all they need to do is watch your top 100 playmates figures we would like to be done. The one question I'd like to know if weather we will be able to buy these figures in the UK and the rest of Europe and any idea what they are likely be priced. Thanks guy's for doing this video and sharing this good news
if i were them id do the characters that rarely get done the mcoys the scottys etc because we have multiple picards and kirks at that scale. am i wrong in saying that looks like deanna in her silver dress in the background?
They jusr showed the list of characters and oh my God there are somw deep cuts including the meme worthy Captain Jellico, Tuvix, Scotty's nephew feom star trek two, the klingon woman from star trek 3, Mirror Archer, and my favorite Captain Sulu from star trek 6
I think Art Asylum/DST did some really great 6"? 7"? figures before the line was cancelled. I did sell off a bunch of the old Playmates starships but i kept several of the DST versions. But i kept all of the figures. It would be nice if these were similar to those. I have all of the Playmates 9" and 12" as well. I really liked the 12" ones too but they didn't make very many of those. 12" Star Trek figures now cost upwards of $150-200 so that priced me out. Anyways, i hope the line turns out to be really nice and at a reasonable price. If so, i'm in.
Brian Volk-Weiss has been hinting about a figure from one of the original movies in a blink and you miss it 45 seconds of screen time. I am thinking the three breasted cat woman from Star Trek V: The Final Frontier! I’m really excited for what Nacelle Toys is going to bring to Star Trek. The mention of figures above 7” really has me thinking of Ruk from TOS and Mr. Homm with Lwaxana Troi! I really can’t wait for good figures of Quark and all those other Magnificent Ferengi!
This sounds promising but I would have preferred mixing characters with previously released with new 6 inch versions of established characters so we have a fuller, consistent (in terms of design) collection. For example, Playmates produced a Commander Kruge figure but I would love a more modern, superior looking 6 inch version and that applies to a lot of other characters as well, including Kirk and Picard. Also a shame Nacelle's licence doesn't extend to the new Trek shows, I'd love to see someone finally do Picard S3 and Strange New Worlds figures.
I don't buy it, they'll have to do Picard, Kirk, Data, Spock and all the popular characters...because they've never been done in the 6' Marvel Legends scale before.
About time they can't do as worse than playmates did this time they look really like a diamond select type figure but a little smaller but the top of the legs they got it right not like playmates ball round they perfect
@@KeithandMikeI’m afraid I have agree with BlueMonkeyToys. Hey, appreciate the input and your opinion and your right to vote for who ever you choose or avoid politics all together. Def not attempting to ‘shove it In your face’ but not gotta remove Keith’s right to show his support!
(This is Keith, the non-silver fox… haha) Politics are real life and Trek has always been intentionally political and a commentary on real life. One of the most Picardian messages was stand up for what you believe in, and step up when you see injustice. Nearly everyone who has ever worked on Star Trek has also stood up for progressive causes. Equality, justice and progressive ideals are written into the very DNA of Star Trek -from race to gender to sexuality and economics. It was Gene Roddenberry’s clear and spoken vision starting in the 60’s. And FWIW I think there is a great deal of difference between an opinion and propaganda. Propaganda is inherently based on a lie. You may not care for my beliefs, but they come honestly. And our shows are produced by ourselves and distributed for free. Almost entirely for fun and friendship. It’s going to reflect what we think, feel and are interested in. I am a great deal more invested in honestly sharing my toys, fandom and occasionally my political beliefs than I do our subscriber count. I hope you stick around and keep enjoying our nonsense, but if my beliefs ruin the fun for you, I totally get you moving on to other shows.

Star Trek IV could be Gillian Taylor. Possibly in her Starfleet uniform from the end of the film.
Great so he has the license to Star Trek during it's prime. The product that most people really want.
I have no idea who the Generations figure will be... but I feel like it will be installed on Tuesday..........
Hahaha well played
This was the best!
I'd be happy to have an action figure of Captain John Harriman of the Enterprise-B.

I am excited if these are in scale with my Diamond Select I am excited.
I vote for Vic Fontaine, in tux with mic.
Demora Sulu, Harriman, Nurse Ogawa would be my picks of action figures we haven't seen from Generations. A more screen-accurate Soran would be interesting too.

Dr. David Marcus.
Dr. Gillian Taylor.
Seven of Nine.
Captain Edward Jelico.

I gotta wonder if Playmates still has the license to the newer shows, and Paramount is simply waiting for that part of the license to lapse.
TWOK will be Scotty in his Radiation Suit.

Brian I've just watched Boyz toys podcast Brian was on they podcast the man incharge of nacelle toys

Could be a “we won’t go back!” Riker, but that would be quite an obscure moment to immortalize in plastic.
I emailed them my figure suggestion list minutes before you posted this episode. Star Trek 3, give me the Robin Curtis version of Savik!

You know who hasn't been made? Star Trek's only in-universe action figure, Marauder Mo. I've already sent in my pitch. It feels like now is the time.
The romulan Commander from the original series Spock's mother
I wonder if anyone has made a runabout that is scaled to playmates action figures.
