Thank you! So obscenely difficult to find good information on the simplest of things. Really really appreciate it!
Thank you very much, i was kind of afraid theming were kind of difficult to implement, but now i see how simple it is, amazing!
omfg, you just saved my life! It takes me 4 hours to find a tutorial to basically change the Button Background Color! GD made it so counterintuitive...
Super handy explanation, and still 100% works after 10 months. Great job
Thanks a lott, im new to godot and my main problem with Godot is UI. Its been very hard to make nice and functional UI and this makes it alot easier.
Sorry little berry got in the way a little bit in this video 😪Also let me know what else you want me to cover in next videos please!
Wow. I needed this my dear friend. I can not express to you how badly I needed this video, I have been on solo journey towards building my very first simple game! It's been quite a few months now and as you all know, It is never quite that simple, not when it comes to code. This video solved so many of my problems. Thank you! a million times thank you!
Another very useful and concise tutorial, thanks a lot :)
The copy and paste tip was excellent for me. Thank you!
Thanks a lot for this quick tutorial. I was completely lost about how the theme editor worked!!
Amazing tutorial and also (as Unity user) I’m amazed by how many great features Godot has. Loving it.
Used Unity for about 5 years, though I always failed to finish a project lol! Got many projects in a concept state and some quite polished, but not complete. Now playing with Godot and things just seem simpler, lighter.. somehow it makes me focus on important things more and keep it all simple.. idk
Thanks. This is a perfect kick-start for working with UI Themes.
Tip, when typing in any of the field textboxes with multiple fields in a row, (Like the corner radius fields for eg) you can press TAB to go to the next field, without having to do it manually
Thanks a lot. Simple and quick tutorial to start creating themes. Started with Godot few days ago. 😁
This saves a lot of time! Thank you!!!
Amazing tutorial! Any idea how to make the text not blurry though?
Thanks for showing me this :)
Thank you for the great video!
awesomeeeee! Works for godot 3.5 as well
didnt know about this, pretty awesome
Thanks a lot for this video :D
Great vid, maybe I'll move to Godot4...
How would you go about making different elements of the same type? Like if I wanted one Progress Bar to be blue and another to be red (mana and health for example). I managed to do this using Theme Overrides but I feel like that's not the best solution, since afaik you have to redo the properties for every new element done this way. Great vid btw
Thanks very much this video is amaizing
Great tut!
Don't know if I did something wrong but when I changed the colours for pressed/hover it changed the colour of normal as well. I had to click 'make unique' after pasting to make the Style be different for every option.
Thank you ❤
Thx 👍
This is effectively what Unity has been trying to build with their UI tools for an absurdly long amount of time.
Very nice video! How do I change the color of the button text?
Awesome, thank you for the tutorial.
I would love a tutorial about common/basic physics in 2D, like collisions, forces/gravity, one object following another or getting closer to the other, bounces.
Btw good luck on your game!
Thank u smiley face turnip
the custom font gets replaced by the default font in the debug screen when i run the scene, how do i fix this?
Thank you
Are there any cool things for an image button? Or animations?
i figured out how to make the tabs (in tabcontainer) display an icon instead of text, but do you know how to get each tab to display a different icon? ATM I can only make each one display the same icon.
Can you do something about the text on the button ? I mean it look kinda blurry...
I made a button but when using theme and changed the modes the way I want like hover, pressed and focus but when I used the code button.grab_focus()
The hover and pressed did not work on the button anymore😢
Can you change a button background texture and its border textures, not just size and colors?
what If I just want to create Buttons, Sliders etc. as png images? Does that still work and how?
4.0.0 was quite buggy when i tried to use a button to change between window and fullscreen, I'd appreciate any help.
@@abradotcs Yeah, starting in Windowed Mode, it works fine (except for a tiny white border, ugh). But starting in Fullscreen Mode (which is what I want), weird things happen. First time switching, it stays fullscreen (and gets the annoying border) while also changing monitor. Trying to go fullscreen then does nothing. Going windowed again makes the window so small that the Godot Logo is between the minimize and maximize button. The debugger also starts freaking out here.
Your on-screen cute character is covering the content. Choose a different corner for it.
"Instant better UI", wdym instant? This is an extremely slow process for a complete set of UI🤦

Care to elaborate? I followed your tutorial for my prototype thinking it wouldn't take hours - before realizing it would.
Now I have to recreate some UI, because the styling is messed up after I cleared the theme, realizing the effort wasn't worth my time atm.
Not only do you waste the time for me to follow along, but I also have to clean up afterwards.
Is it reaalllyy cool to skadoodle others, bro?
Thought I could rely on you🤷
@@--Arthur You do realize game dev takes time right? Designing some vector art for ui would probably take up to hours but you can set this in minutes and it will apply to all the UI in your game idk what you are on about here?
