the Aliexpress cylinder at 20 euros delivered (~22 dollars) is correct for these machines. diameter 48 (62cc) called here "58-3". the numbers are limit high, would be better a little less strong, they are the following without gasket base: intake 158 duration. transfers 127 duration. exhaust 165 duration (97.5 from TDC). the piston clearance is very correct, I am rather surprised by the manufacturing quality, we have seen much worse.. Cylinders with too high numbers can often get good torque and power with an intake vortex just after carb, for better filling and better mixing. Vortex in 0.5mm stainless steel with mini 8 very fine blades, preferably sharpened, otherwise the result can become bad. Bad vortex = bad result Good vortex = good surprise.. This Aliexpress cylinder did not need intake vortex (without base gasket) to work well. Thank you for this video 👍
Have the wemars 5820- it also measures out at ~55. Hunting for a jug/piston that isn't garbage to swap, was thinking that the Husky 357 would be a decent start. Will send an email with measurements when it arrives. Thanks for the vids!
Very nice of you to send that👍 I'm sure they'll be very grateful! Need to put more time on my wemars 6220 to form a solid opinion but so far, it seems like an incredible value!
I have a couple of these types of china saws. The ones with quad transfers run better than the ones with dual transfers. I recommend the joncutter 5800, it has the better cylinder and runs good. I also have an older timberpro6150, it's 61.5cc and a good version of this clone, it really rips with a bigger carb. There's an intake block on ebay that lets you fit a 372 carb onto them, it's a big improvement power and rpm wise, I gained about 2000rpm in the cut with that mod. My joncutter cuts at 13000rpm.
That's awesome what do you have to look up to find that? I used a metal broom handle and silicone to do the same thing on my garwinner be nice to have a actual intake. 16mm vs 10mm definitely a huge difference
I saw your 550 build and was really impressed. Do you think I could do a base gasket delete or a pop up piston and get good gains from it on my 550? I'm not sure if it has clearance for all that without machine work but I'd appreciate the advice if you know . Thanks in advance and I appreciate the videos I'm learning alot
NO! On the 5 series saws, even just a base gasket delete requires you to shorten the cylinder skirt. If you remove the gasket and then just put it back together, you will fold the cylinder skirt inward and ultimate doom awaits!
As we spoke, my Wemarrs 6220 IS well made, though the assembly of the ignition is toy(ish), the oiler is barely functional, the chain tension screw is laughable, and its power is more in line with a quality 45-50cc saw. The last part I’ll address (hopefully) with a tuneup. What do I expect for $145? This saw.
Send that thing back! Out of all those things you just mentioned, the only one that I can relate to is the chain tension screw. The two that I have owned have oiled great, the ignition system is fine, and the power of my 6220 is better than that of my Husqvarna 55. So...something is wrong. Mine both came VERY rich from the factory.
@@novicelumberjack I have the Garwinner and the Auto Jare. The Garwinner is excellent quality, I suspect it is near identical to the Wemars. The Auto Jare is somewhat lesser quality but has taken everything i have thrown at it and it always starts. Hello from Brazil my friend Can you try to help me, please? My chainsaw has a problem with excessive compression. But when I remove the spark plug the piston rotates normally. Even placing your finger in thze spark plug opening causes the piston to become extremely compressed again. Yesterday I installed a completely new cylinder and piston, but the problem remains. I changed the spark plug, removed the carburetor and exhaust fan, and still the problem remains. Do you have any idea what it could be? Can I send you a video showing the problem? I have been seeking help with this mystery on various social media channels, Instagram, UA-cam, but no one has been able to guess what could be causing the problem.
When those orange “ choocher” I thought there was an h up front…??? About 5 years ago I grabbed one for a hundred bucks and then I had a guy outside of Philadelphia that had bought a cargo container I’m assuming because he had about 20 left and he was done selling them…. I counted his 75 with 50 apiece and he jumped so I must have been around what he paid…. ??? Mines orange and 6 years old and it’s a running son of a gun… I’ve been looking and with a 45mm bore they have to have a little more stroke to get to the 60CC’s? I’m going to have to rip into that at some point but entirely too many good saw’s to knock out before I can waist any time on that one…. On your porting numbers remember that you lower your intake and you make more power but after 60… or so you really start eating lots more fuel for that small addition power… and it’s often much better to simply remove a pocket from your piston as the more material that you can remove from your pistons th you make more power but have less fuel robbing properties…. There’s a lot of wasted pistons material on that 372 Xtorq and buy simply cutting the additional 1/2” of piston skirt off your lighter in rotation and faster to throttle up and hold your power longer…. Be really looking at any additional material on your pistons before your grinding away from your ports as it’s much more work to finish them up nicely and with a piston it’s a quick little roll to smooth with some 1000 grit… anyway it’s a nice thing that you are doing a aid those poor folks…. I’m praying we send a couple of transports with stinging missile in them so that these proud strong folks can absolutely devastate the USSR… and destroy all incoming missiles being fired at their major utilities…. It was actually absolutely glorious when Russian having some of the pretty decent quality helicopters were pounding on the afghans and we carried in 300 on donkeys in three days of training 45% of those Russian helicopters were burning rubble…. Quite honestly if anyone in our present society aren’t feeling that they have a really great relationship with their lord and savior…they might want to rethink their thinking because we have two nuke subs just outside of range to turn Moscow into glass…. I’m really not quite sure that our current leader’s would be as good and ready as I am to send in a couple just to say hey bitch… that’s enough! But we should definitely be ready to get into the nuke show sooner then later! Now that the Russian people are really starting to stand up for world freedom and they know they are getting hustled…. And they are defection’s instead of fighting….the Russian people don’t want this war anymore then anyone else… too bad that we stopped our 11 teams and haven’t just shot him with a poison dart and ended the world’s problems… but they have a few hit teams here too so it would definitely need to be a very serious open up the Mountain in west Verginny and get our leaders and their families there.., before we go punching tickets…. I’m so pissed I’m 53 with horrible knees or I’d be more than happy to be headed to a tall building near the Russian capital to have a chance to be the guy that got to send a 308 through Putin we have allowed him to get away with entirely too much carnage without hitting all his personal assets with drone strikes…. I’m a hillbilly redneck…my diesel is $6.50 a gallon and it’s time for them sumbitches to start watching their backs… God what I would give to have that gentleman in a set of crosshairs with a spotter calling my windage !!! God Bless y’all and hoping that your Christmas was delightful! If you ever decide to make a weekend or shooting up 2” foam board then blowing more insulation in behind it in that raised ceiling area… I’ll volunteer to assist if there backstrap for the apple wood fire … we can always move your garbage can outside to get them up to 150! LMFFAO! That’s a very interesting property that you have there… very unique find!!! Beautiful place to keep working on your project’s to continue to make it better and better! Any son of a gun who will cook his brats in the ember’s trash can setup that he designed and built is okay with me buddy…. But please remember that several of us have 30 years in various trades and loads of knowledge and ability and there’s just something about this group of guys that link us up together on a very unique level and helping out a fella member for a couple days isn’t out of the question! I just took a very nice looking porter cable framing nailer from an old guy that needed his 372 rebuild immediately as one of his guy’s burnt her up…. So I opened up my parts box for the 372 parts and rebuilt that night for him because he had a decent job lined up…he had a hundred dollar bill and this framing nailer so if you ever need one for awhile it could be at the post office pretty quickly buddy. Even a smaller compressor will stoop 31/2” framing nails pretty easy! You could do 2x4’s on 24 and drywall it then mill some fake beams out and not only gain a lot of R-value but having some beams shoot into some pitched 2x4’s would actually add a little rustic look to that open higher ceiling area…. Slap some light cream paint over the drywall area’s in a couple of hours and it would look fabulous!!!! LMFFAO!
