That’s an interesting take. Even if the foul was in play it was totally unnecessary when the opponent is on an island like that. It’s forgivable if he jumped tried to block the shot and had incidental contact however he body checked a vulnerable person in a shooting position with no attempt for defense. The retaliation hit was more justified than the in play hit in my opinion.
